I’ll start by saying that I love Black Knights Inc. Each character is so finely crafted that I feel I’m a part of it all. Christian was no exception. I love his accent, humor and sexiness. Yumm. Emily was a good match for him, quick witted and strong willed; that made their romance nice and steamy. My only complaint is that there was so much talking that it felt like the story stalled a few times, which is unusual for a BKI book. I liked the tender ending and the lead in, to what I hope, is Angel’s story to come. I can’t wait!

Christian Watson is stranded in England, his home country he never wanted to return to. Along with a few of his fellow BKI co-workers…. including the very bossy Emily Scott. While fleeing the country, they have been spending time in VERY close quarters… and he is holding on by a thread at trying to keep his hands off of her…

Emily Scott doesn’t do love. After many failed relationships in her own family, she never wants to set herself up for the same failures. Even though Christian pushes all of her buttons, why risk her job (again) and friends for a brief fling.

This was a good book in a fantastic series. It wasn’t my favorite out of all of them, but it was great to see the characters I have read so much about and see the BKI family as this series is wrapping up. Or seems to be at least!

I really liked Christian and Emily’s characters, I wish there had been a little more action or something more to their story than just Emily’s qualms about a relationship. Once they finally got down to business we get a brief look at their chemistry, and it is HOT.

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.

Christian comes across as this cultured Englishman. Not a hair out of place, perfect clothes and a British accent. Emily is the office manager for BKI. She is a badass at running other people's lives while she ignores her own. They get on each other's nerves and are constantly sniping at each other until they are forced into close quarters situation when Christian's crazy past catches up with him. The two of them are on the run with 2 other BKI guys and a friend of Emily's. Things get intense quick. There is no room for secrets anymore with 2 bad guys and the press after them they need to get out of England and quick. Christian has been this big question mark for the past few books and what you see is not what you get. Emily has her own secrets and they've shaped her views on relationships. Christian hope he's up to the job of changing her mind. I loved these two sniping at each other and i loved watching them be there for each other. The other guys in this book are Angel, Ace and Rusty who is Emily's friend. There some intense stuff between Ace and Rusty and of course Angel is a huge ginormous mystery. I loved Angel back when he appeared in Boss and Becky's book and i still love him. His story has got to be intense with the hints we've gotten about his past. We know very little about Ace and Rusty is the new guy but they are explosive together. So much going on with the character's in this book but i feel it lacked a little of the action. Poor Christian had to work hard to reach Emily in the end and i think she was over the top a bit. Overall a satisfying book. Look forward to Angel's book and to see what happens with Ace and Rusty.

Hot Pursuit is the eleventh book in Julie Ann Walker’s Black Knights Inc. series. It is a direct continuation of the previous book, Fuel for Fire, so you may be a little lost if you hadn’t read it. I’ve read several books in the series including Fuel for Fire so everything made sense to me. As with all of the other books, the action in and outside of the bedroom is intense.

This time, the story focuses on former SAS officer turned BKI operative Christian Watson and BKI office manager Emily Scott. The two of them have been secretly lusting after each other since the day they met. Everyone else on the team knows that they need to just get a room already but they attempt to cover up their attraction by snapping at each other consistently. The intensity of the current mission finally forces them to address their attraction and they decide to pursue a friends with benefits arrangement although their feelings are much stronger than that. Emily doesn’t believe that she is genetically wired for a loving relationship because of her family history. Christian agrees to the arrangement thinking that he can get Emily to get over her issues and make a commitment to him. Christian is a hard nosed and lethal operative. But he is also sweet, kind, and noble. He was abused as a child but he never let that stop him from being a good person and believing in love.

In addition to the relationship issues, there is the matter of the team being pursued in London by two assailants, believed to be associated with their original mission to identify and take down a ruthless crime lord. That pursuit puts their lives in danger on numerous occasions and they must overcome various obstacles to make it back to their homebase in Chicago alive. It’s the culmination of all these things that make Hot Pursuit a fun and exciting read. Conflicts that occur between other members of the team add to the intrigue. This happens throughout the entire series and makes it all feel like a family atmosphere regardless of the peril that they always find themselves wrapped in. I look forward to the next book in the Black Knights Inc. series. I’m sure that I won’t be disappointed.

I have been a fan since the release of Hell on Wheels; the very first Black Knights Inc. book. Only one more book, Built to Last, is scheduled. While I can't wait to uncover Angel's secrets the panic of losing touch with these amazing characters has begun.

The foreplay, teasing, of this couple has been (seemingly) going on forever. I worried that they wouldn't have anything left for the main event but, of course Julie Ann Walker proved this reader wrong. These two are spectacular together - between the fiery dialogue and formidable action this book is a great escape read.

I recommend this story...fall in love with Christian's legendary charm!

Another entertaining read in this series that is coming close to being finished.

This was book 11 in the series, but it picked up immediately where the last one left off with our mission group still stuck in England trying to get back home after they failed to find Spider's identity through the Morrison guy. While you could easily read it as a stand alone, just know that it ties closely with the previous book.

Christian and Emily have had this UST going on for a while and their banter is killing everyone. Finally they are going to get together, but Emily drops a bombshell on Christian by telling him not to fall in love with her because she can't do love. While it was great seeing him love her anyway and her fighting it, I felt she fought it too long. I also think Rusty and Ace's bickering and kissing took away from Christian and Emily's story. And oddly enough, I thin Angel stole the whole thing. Who knew he had a sense of humor and could talk?! I am anxiously looking forward to his book!

3.5 to 4 stars
Hot Pursuit begins right after Fuel for Fire left off. The newer members of BKI, Christian, Ace, and Angel, along with their office manager, Emily, and her friend, Rusty are still hiding out in not-so-jolly-old-England and trying to escape and make their way back to the States. But as usual, the best laid plans...it turns into one mess after another. New enemies. Media attention. Exposing of pasts. Traumatic incidents. Things seem to go wrong at every turn.

And there is also so much sexual tension and longing coming out in the form of antagonism and challenging behavior. Christian and Emily are still fussing and fighting And Ace and Rusty are sharing heated looks. Running on adrenaline with close quarters and contact only increase lust and longing.

They are in pursuit of a ruthless enemy while being pursued by new ones. And Christian's hottest pursuit is not only Emily's body, but her elusive heart. While Ace and Rusty struggle with understanding and the ac they are in opposite places in life, but have such chemistry and attraction. They tease, taunt, torture, tantalize, and sometimes take.

Emily is a strong-willed, nosy, smart, responsible, caring, and mouthy Chicago girl. She has been burned so does not want to have a relationship with any co-workers. Christian is a stuffy, sarcastic, sharp, and usually in control Brit. But there is a lot more to him than meets the eye. They put on these facades of being tough and unfeeling, but deep down they are feeling plenty. But when the chemistry gets to be too much to avoid, they think that they can just have a casual romp in the midst of chaos. Emily brings fun to Christian's life whether it be verbal sparring or physical engagements. And since she has always had to be responsible and in control, she does not mind giving up a bit of control to him when it counts. It is just supposed to be casual, but feelings are strong and terrifying. As the layers are peeled back, more understanding and vulnerability shows. And Christian is hoping that he can convince her that more is worth it because he knows what he wants. I loved him and found him to be a great swoonworthy hero. But Emily does not make anything easy on him. So there were some times I just wanted to shake sense into her.

And the usual calm, easy-going, charming, Ace is not longer the man breaking up fights because he keeps getting into them with the hot, brawny, Rusty. The are two men who are attracted to each other, but are on the opposites sides of the LGBT fight and cannot seem to find middle ground. Ace has been through so much and fought to be out. Rusty is still in the closet and is afraid to leave it. I loved that she gave us a M/M story line. I enjoy the genre anyway, but we also need some diversity here to be realistic. Just because this is a group of bad-a**es, does not mean that they would all be straight.

And that brings us to the enigmatic, Angel. He is a mysterious, former Mossad agent with a whole new identity. I imagine his story will be in the forefront of the next book. Due to the continuing story arc through Fuel for Fire, this one, and the fact that it is not quite resolved yet so should continue in Built for Speed, I recommend at least reading these three books together. (Although some of the characters were first introduced in Wild Ride.) These installments are all about the newer members of BKI. This one is told in multiple points of view giving us all access. It gives us some resolution for the main couple, but leaves another with issues but potential, an enemy still in the wind, and a tease for another story. So I hope Built for Speed wraps up some of this ongoing story line.

These characters are stubborn, strong, brave, thrive on challenges, and have each other's backs. They just have to translate that team philosophy to trust and belief in personal relationships as well and determine if the risk is worth the reward. I really enjoyed the sparring and dynamics between these characters. It added fun and sexual tension to the suspense and danger. And I love the camaraderie and bonds between the the team at BKI and their significant others. They are truly a self made family of strong men and women.

5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

hot, sexy, and non stop action!!!! The BKI team is back and better than ever in Julie Ann Walkers Hot Pursuit. And this time it’s Christian’s turn to find out if he is willing to give himself a chance at happiness. Julie Ann Walker nails this book and once again shows that she is the queen of romantic suspense. I can’t wait to see what is next for the BKI team.

Emily and the team are still trying to get out of England but keep running into problems. And just when they think they are on their way out two brothers come and change everything.

Christian just wants out of England. It’s no longer his home and holds no good memories, unfortunately they aren’t getting out fast enough. And to make matters worse being so close to Emily is making him want and need things that he shouldn’t want. But when two brothers threaten things he decides maybe it’s time to stop hiding.

Emily doesn’t do relationships her parents lives have shown her that she is not going to have a chance at love. But Christian changes that for her and makes her wish that she could open herself up to love. And when their lives are yet again put in danger will Emily finally give in? Or will she let her old worries and doubts get the best of her and push Christian away?

Another great read!!!!
5 Stars! Loved it!

I have read all of these wonderful stories of these brave men, and the women who love them. I love the fact that the women are not TSTL and that the men are willing to brave the one thing that they always seem to fight against, their heart. In this story, we finally have the story of Christian and Emily! Yay So happy that these two finally got together. Sometimes when reading these books, you just want the characters to just get their act together already. Lol. So that was the case with Emily and Christian. It was totally inevitable and I tots loved it all. Their fiery comeback and witty remarks all a farce behind the true love they had for one another. Christian and his traumatic childhood and the fact that Emily felt that she could not fully love one person, was the perfect match for them to become one. Kudos on some more book time with Rusty and Ace! Yummy. I definitely want to see them get together. And it looks as if the ever mysterious Angel is getting his book next, and all his well kept secrets will come to light. I really enjoyed this one. 5 stars!

I loved this book, I love this whole series! Christian and Emily have been sniping at each other for the last several books and as you would expect all that boils over into some seriously HOT sexy times. I love these two together and I adored Christian. He was very different than I assumed he’d be from previous meetings in earlier books but I loved him so much, so steadfast, loyal and sure (not to mention absolutely smokin’ hot). Then there was Emily witty, snarky and so much fun but scarred by her past and afraid to trust what’s growing between her and Christian. I loved checking back in with the boys and girls of BKI and I’m a little sad that there’s only one book left in the series after this one. They are hot on the trail of Spider and things are coming together and you can see the loose ends getting tied up. In theory you could read this as a stand alone story but there are a lot of characters and relationships that would be far better understood by reading the series as a whole and I highly recommend that route. I received an ARC of this book from the publisher through Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

Christian and Emily are that annoying couple that always snipes at one another. Their quibbling is adorably exasperating and has been for the last few Black Knights Inc. books. On the surface, these two don’t make a ton of sense. There is the polished, pretty Christian, former SAS officer who is a bit buttoned up. And Emily, a Chicago South Sider through-and-through with an accent and a diehard love of the White Sox. So, yes, this books is an opposites attract romance on the surface. Once you dig down, though, these two share some tough life experiences in regards to their parental figures.

Although Emily and Christian’s relationship came to fruition in Hot Pursuit, their introduction and some of the set-up for their story came in the previous Black Knights Inc. books, namely Fuel for Fire. Thus, this book shouldn’t be read as a stand-alone. Lovers of the BKI series should find Hot Pursuit crazy satisfying, though. Emily and Christian’s eventual, hard-won declaration of love felt like it deserved a fist pump once it was said and done.

Catching his tongue between her teeth, she sucked, giving him an idea of what it would be like if the had another of his body parts in her mouth. He must’ve had a good imagination because the noise he made in the back of his throat was so guttural and raw that her womb clenched.

She suspected she could be in the middle of pruning the bushes or doing her taxes, and if he made that sound, she’d be close to coming on the spot.

She didn’t know how long they stayed there. There was no concept of time. No end to her. No beginning to him. Just a mishmash of teeth and lips and tongues.

I was a bit surprised that Walker didn’t build up the ongoing arc with Spider to take center stage, especially given that Hot Pursuit is the second to last book of the series. Towards the very end of this book the Spider storyline moved forward, but until that point, the villain, or danger, of this novel came from a couple of guys that had incredibly little to do with the larger BKI picture.

Although I still love and adore this series, it does feel like it’s time to close things out at BKI. Christian’s story and issues seemed reminiscent of a few of the other heroes in the series, namely Frank and Mac, and Emily’s no-nonsense attitude was similar to almost all of the heroines of the series, with the exception of Eve. Hot Pursuit was fun to read and I devoured it in less than a day, but it’s clear that Walker wrapping things up and slowing the series down. The storyline here wasn’t fresh or inspired, but it wasn’t quite stale either…more just, meh. Which is really too bad given the depth that the series has shown in the past and the life that Walker is bringing to her Deep Six series.

I’d rate Hot Pursuit somewhere in between a 3 and a 3.5, but since I need to nail things down I’m going with a 3.5. Next up in the series is Angel’s book (another second chance romance it seems) and you better believe I’m so entirely and completely excited to see this guy be, hopefully, brought to his knees!

Hot Pursuit is a Black Knights, Inc story but truly a standalone if you haven’t started this series. These are great romantic thriller/suspense books....some more suspense than romance. This one however, dealt mostly with the romance and it is Christian, a Brit who left the SAS and went to work for BKI. Emily left the CIA and is the general manager of the BKI company....which is a group of people who have either left the military or CIA or similar agencies and have gone to work in Chicago undercover with the authority of the President. In this book, there are a group of the members in Great Britain who are searching for a man who is a major enemy. Christian and Emily constantly butt heads but basically they are flirting. The problem with this relationship really lies with Emily feeling that she can not commit to a a loving relationship because both her parents and grandparents changed partners often. I actually got a little tired of Emily’s protests that she couldn’t sustain a “Love relationship” because she was jinxed by her family. The plot, as always with a Julie Walker book was excellent, the storyline cohesive, and I enjoyed the dialogues. Loved Christian’s character and felt he was definitely the more mature of this couple. Also, enjoyed the secondary characters of this particular book and hope we see more of their potential relationship. Thanks as always to Netgalley and the. Publisher for allowing me to read this for an honest review

I'm so in love. SO SO in love with Christian. Ozzie will always be my main BKI man but Christian and his smooth talking ways have rushed right up to second place.

We've spent years alongside the BKI crew and nothing has been as entertaining as the back and forth teasing between the former SAS operative Christian and the sassy-mouthed office manager Emily. There's always been a clear chemistry just waiting to burst the sheets in to flames but Walker delivers in just the right amounts to readers.

We pick up on Christian, Emily, Angel, Ace, and Rusty right where they split from Dagan's book previously. As they are on the run for their lives, it clicks for Christian that he truly does love Emily. He spends time wooing her while letting her think that he's only in it for the sex. While a new and mysterious villain comes after Christian, he's got to also battle Emil's fear of her past.

There's no lack of action in Hot Pursuit. The classic kick butt knights are still kicking, even when on the run. And ACE.....OMG....I want Ace to have his own book! This plot line has got to be filled with gold and I'm really hoping that Walker can finish it out to the direction I believe it's heading. I won't spoil that one for y'all ;) As for our next Knight...Angel's mysteries are about to unravel...

Fuel for Fire left Emily, Christian, Ace, Angel, and Emily's friend Rusty, trapped in jolly ole England when their plans to unmask their nemesis Spider falls through with unexpected hiccups. Hot Pursuit opens with the group still stuck in England, Christian's past coming to light, and Emily and Christian finally deal with their chemistry.

Christian and Emily get up close and personal with traumatic childhoods and terrible personal relationship skills. While those experiences explained so much about the H/h, I couldn't quit raising my eyebrows at Emily's illogical logic of why she had to avoid Christian. I will say, I liked his strategically intelligent and amusing responses, especially considering how motivated he was to catch her.

Christian and Emily's sarcastic barbs and witty insults have always reflected just how attracted they are to each other. The issue was a matter of WHEN they'd decide to do anything about it. Granted, their timing could have been so much better than it was, seeing as how they're stuck with their teammates on foreign soil and hiding from assailants. However, the combination of being stuck in close quarters and potentially dying did culminate into one heck of a sensual experience for these two, so I can't complain too much!

The supporting characters had their own dramas happening-Rusty and Ace dealing with labels and misconceptions between each other, Angel actually speaking, making jokes and-shocker-dropping a hint about his past. Curiosity abounds...

My main peeve would have to be Christian's language. After awhile, his articulation and wordage felt over the top and slightly forced. Almost as if the reader would forget he's British so hey! throw in a couple of British sounding words to make him authentic. Instead, I found the constancy slightly jarring and unnecessary.

Book #11 in the Black Knight series has less action and more introspection with the characters than previous stories, giving the storyline a different tone yet still retaining the entertainment value. Christian's past was a heavy focus, as was Emily's, and their romance was heady stuff. It was also fun learning more about the supporting characters at BKI and I can't wait to see what's in store for Angel, Ace, and Rusty!

Oh wow..I loveee this full of actions and suspense book, and let's not forget those steamy hot scenes.
This book is my first book from Julie Ann Walker and I love it and definitely going to read all books from this series.
It was a bit hard at first to get the hang of this book, because it's the 11th book and I think It's required to read the previous books (which I haven't done yet), to really know what's going on, who's the enemy, and how's BKI works.
I'm also a little bit confused with the unfamiliar phrases, but the more I read the more I understand. This book is written in a third-person POV, which usually not my thing, but with all the things that I like, I don't mind with this third-person POV.
This book hit me with the funny, witty banters between Emily and Christian and all the other characters from the beginning and the sexual tension is OH SO HOT, so superb, it got me squirming on my seat. And all the actions make me can't put it down, it got me on edge wondering how they'll survive. So yeah I like this one.

As for characters, Love Emily and Christian, they're so different but so perfect for each others, they're push each others buttons, they're always got on each others nerves. Their relationships isn't sugary sweet, it's full of arguing, disagreement and fighting. These two bring a lot of laughters, and I love reading how the connections grow between them.
Although I don't feel their attraction at the beginning, it's like suddenly they're so into each other (maybe it happened on the previous book), but in the end, I adore this couple.

If suspense romance is your thing, this one should be on your list.

Hot Pursuit (Black Knights Inc., #11) by Julie Ann Walker is another excellent read and another great addition to this series. Book features great writing, an engaging plot and complex characters. Emily Scott made an error in judgement and it cost her dearly. Now, happily working at Black Knights Inc. she is determined not repeat the same mistake twice. Christian Watson is feeling a little burnt out and put out. The last thing he expected was to feel attracted to his partner. This is the emotional dilemma that rocks these two. Full of passion, drama and high intensity action this book will keep you on the edge of your seat. A Wonderful read that I greatly enjoyed and highly recommend. I am posting an honest review after reading an ARC copy of this book.

Emily lost her job with the CIA because she had an entanglement with a fellow agent. She finally feels like she’s found a home at Black Knights Inc and will do whatever it takes to keep this new family.

Christian is a former SAS officer that is now running an op with firecracker Emily Scott. She is boss, demanding and just what he didn’t know he was looking for in a partner…

Christian Watson is everything you would imagine for the perfect alpha male. He’s strong, courageous and willing to put his life on the line for Emily.

Emily is insecure. Her parents were horrible role models and she felt the CIA was all she would have in her life that remand constant until she found BKI.

Simply addicting, the group at BKI is a family unit that draws the reader in an keeps them invested till the end.

Another amazing installment of Black Knights Inc. Julie Ann Walker has created an amazing world with breathtaking characters.

Hot Pursuit picks up where Fuel for Fire left off, with part of the team still trying to get out of England. Christian Watson never wanted to set foot in England again, and now he can't seem to get off the island. He's kept his past locked in a box, so to speak, and now it's threatening to break out. Just being in England is bringing back memories and jeopardizing his tight control. Just when he thought he and team could make a clean escape, he opens the door to the press. literally shoving microphones in his face.

Emily Scott has learned the hard way to never mix business and pleasure. She's never going to make that mistake again. Besides, she's a Scott, so she can't really fall in love. Instead, she keeps everyone, especially Christian Watson, at arms length. Its her job to keep everyone happy and team running smoothly, that's what a good office manager does.

So what happens when Christian finally stops Christian Watsoning, yes Emily managed to make his name a verb, and goes after what he really wants? All sorts of mayhem and laughs. I loved both of these characters. They are delightfully flawed and human, which makes them irresistible. Throw in Angel's mystery and dry humor, followed by Ace and Randy's fiery chemistry. Add a dash of danger from Christian's past, you have the perfect recipe for an edge of your seat roller coaster ride.

I don't want to give anything away, you're going to have to read Hot Pursuit to find out what happens!
