Unfortunately, I have not been able to read and review this book.

After losing and replacing my broken Kindle and getting a new phone I was unable to download the title again for review as it was no longer available on Netgalley.

I’m really sorry about this and hope that it won’t affect you allowing me to read and review your titles in the future.

Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.
Natalie.

Thanks to netgalley for the ARC of this thrilling read.
In this book we meet Hannah. She is in a mental institution, but we don't know early on for what. She has a few friends, but they all seem to be dying around her. All of suicide. Hannah is not convinced that it is really suicide, but nobody believes her. She tries to find out the truth about her friends' deaths, but get no help and support.
Thrilling read, and I couldn't wait to see how it finished! Recommended.

I have read other books by Tammy Cohen and really enjoyed them, but for some reason this one languished in my TBR pile.

The book has many twists and turns, and different narrators telling their story. Hannah is in a psychiatric ward after doing something shocking. We don’t find out what until about half way though the book.

Her friend, and fellow patient Charlie, commits suicide, although Hannah is convinced that it wasn’t suicide. Then strange things start to happen and Hannah must work out who she can trust and who she can’t.

Well this part of the story. Her mother Corrine is a narrator and she has another story to tell, and the therapist Laura is also a narrator and she has a different story.

This makes the twists and turns make this book a gripping read. We do find out the shocking thing Hannah did, but I felt only sympathy for her. I didn’t quite read this in one sitting, but not far of it. A very clever psychological thriller that won’t disappoint fans of this genre.

Thank you to Tammy Cohen, Netgalley and the publisher for my advance ARC in return for an honest review. I am just sorry it took me so long to get to it.

I've read a few of Tammy Cohen's books in the past and I've always enjoyed them. I probably wouldn't rate her as one of my all time favourites, but she often writes gripping and entertaining reads. And so too was it with this one.

Hannah is a patient in a psychiatric clinic. After two other patients die, Hannah is convinced that they have been murdered but no one believes her. And so begins this twisty novel.

Now let me be honest right up front and say that I've found myself in a serious reading slump for the last month or so. I know that I do go through these patches every few years, and so I don't feel specifically stressed about it, but it is something that I should mention as it's possible that this slump negatively affected my enjoyment of this book.

I did largely enjoy this book but I found it longer than it needed to be and not quite as gripping as I would have liked. On a positive note, I liked the different chapters written in the different voices, and I also liked the glance back into the past and into this terrible thing that Hannah did. All this made for some gripping reading at first. From there, I struggled a bit.

Overall though, this is another good, solid psychological thriller. It has a few twists and turns and many people whose opinion I value highly have really loved this one. So don't trust my opinion alone because I'm hard to please at the moment.

I usually really like Tammy Cohen's books, but this one didn't click for me. I won't post a review publicly as I'd rather say only nice things about Cohen!

Once again, Tammy Cohen produces another tightly wound tale. Her confidence as a writer is growing with each book she writes. I look forward to reading her next book!

They All Fall Down starts with one of those openings that lets you know it’s going to be a good book…
“Charlie cut her wrists last week with a shard of caramelized sugar.
We’d made the sugar sheets together in the clinic’s kitchen earlier in the day, under Joni’s beady-eyed supervision.
‘Yours are thick enough to do yourself an injury.’ I’d said to Charlie, as a joke.
‘I wonder if that’s what gave her the idea,’ Odelle commented afterwards, pointedly.”
And from here, for me, it just got better.
One of the things I loved most about it was the setting – a private psychiatric clinic – and the characters – most of whom are at the clinic because they have mental health issues – and how much this keeps you guessing throughout the book.
It means every character is unreliable, either because of their mental health conditions, including the drugs they find themselves on, or because they are getting their information from the aforesaid people.  It means they might want to believe – but can they?  This is especially true for Hannah, one of the central characters and a “service user”, and her mom.  The reason Hannah is in the clinic is slow to be revealed but puts her mother Corinne’s initial reluctance to believe her daughter into perspective.
Can she believe Hannah when she is told Charlie didn’t kill herself or is her daughter getting worse, despite promises from the doctors she would get better once admitted?  It’s a question that you, as a reader, are trying to answer too as you hear event from both Hannah and Corinne’s view points.  As each works to uncover the truth, secrets are revealed about other people at the clinic – doctors and patients – and you realise that not everything is as it seems.  It doesn’t help I liked them both so wanted to believe both of them.
Peppered throughout is Laura, a member of staff, whose story initially doesn’t seem to be linked to what is happening at the clinic until it comes together near the end, turning a lot of what you have learnt on the head.  Which is the next best thing about this book – it had brilliant twists and turns which kept me guessing and second-guessing.  Add to that the writing – which I thought was excellent – and it all made for a great book, one I loved reading and would highly recommend.

I really enjoyed the structure of this book, being given snippets of memories and new information about the main character. The setting took me back to the film, one flew over the cuckoo nest. The reason I could not rate this any higher is because it didn't seem to be fast paced which I enjoy more, it was quite a slow burner, which made me start to lose a bit of interest.

I've read quite a few of Tammy Cohen's books so I was delighted to see that there was another one out. This one did not disappoint.

Hannah is in The Meadows- a psychiatric hospital. She is struggling to recover from the events that brought her there and has befriended Charlie. When Charlie commits suicide she becomes convinced that Charlie did not die by her own hand and neither did another inmate. Hannah worries that she is next. But who will believe her? After all the reason she is in The Meadows is because of her mental issues.

Told from different perspectives Tammy Cohen builds up a claustrophobic atmosphere that has the reader feeling uncomfortable (in a good way!) and keeps the pages turning until the end.

This is another five star story from Tammy Cohe. Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for giving me the chance to read & review it.

Absolutley gripping. Another brilliant read from Tammy

A fantastic read! this book explores the very sensitive subject of mental illness and what an exploration! Of course, there is an underlying story, in this case the apparent suicides of two patients. The book is so intricately woven that I was certain I knew Whodunit only to be blind sided. Alongside this plot is the story of how Hannah became a patient and the effects on her friends and family. Altogether a really stunning read.

'Set mainly in a mental institution, They All Fall Down is a superb story in which staff and patients alike are suspects with secrets.

I started this book not knowing what to expect and couldn’t make head nor tail of it. I also thought about giving up on it. But thankfully I continued reading and really enjoyed reading this. I was staggered by the twists and turns in this book and I can’t say anything about it without giving any spoilers. Recommended. 4.5*

Another brilliant book by Tammy Cohen. I finished this in just over a day on holiday as I couldn’t put it down.
I genuinely didn’t know which way the story was going.
A fabulous well written page turner with well drawn characters and an intruiging twisty plot.
A superb holiday read, highly recommended.

Thanks!

This book kept me gripped the whole way through. Hannah is a patient in a psychiatric clinic. Two of the patients recently committed suicide and Hannah is convinced they did not kill themselves. As the story unfolds there are a lot of suspects and their lives and reasons for committing murder are all described really well. I was guessing up to the last as to what the end of the story would be. This is the first Tammy Cohen book that I have read and I would definitely like to read more.
