MY RATING: 2/5 STARS

I was provided an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I really wanted to like this book. I requested it on Netgalley thinking it’ll be my next favourite read because look at the cover, the synopsis, and the everything. It’s exactly what I read and what I go for but for some reason, Her Fake Engagement by Gigi Garrett did not captivate my attention enough to keep reading.

Maybe it was the style of writing or maybe because nothing really happened for the first few chapters that made me intrigued or maybe because it just focused too much on other aspects but for the sake of my sanity, I had to put it down.

I’ve heard great things about this book but because I’m a mood reader, this one just wasn’t for me.

I really enjoyed this novel! The whole idea of being a fake bachelorette for the night is now so enticing! Although, the reason I gave this novel 4 stars was I feel as though Lottie had the perfect man in front of her but yet she STILL dated Henry because he fit her entire list. I feel during the time we got to know about Henry and Lottie's relationship, Tyler and her could have already been married with two kids. There was little to no romance between Tyler and Lottie, only the kids at the end of the book which was a little disappointing to me. I wanted more Lottie and Tyler action!! Nonetheless, was a phenomenal read. Thank you for letting me read and review this novel!

This was such a cute, quick, and fun read! I really enjoyed it and it was the perfect accompaniement for a summer day outside by the pool.

I felt that I really related to the main character of Lottie and her desire to have control over all aspects in her life. It hit close to home and had me thinking. I'm sure other readers will feel the same (and if not, it will be comical to read about the structure and rules she enforces in her life).

I LOVED the idea of the faux bachelorette parties and I never have read a book with that premise before. What a unique idea! It wouldn't surprise me if people do that in real life, however, the thought had not ever crossed my mind before.

The main group of characters were a laugh and appeared reminiscent of the Bridesmaid movie. It was a compilation of all kinds of personalities (thus is life) and they were all written as realistic characters that you would meet in everyday life.

Definitely recommend this book to lovers of romance comedies. It was quick, enjoyable, and I'm happy to have read it.

Oh my, this book was not what I expected. I expected it was like most of the fake fiance’ romance books. You know the ones about billionaires losing their companies or inheritances if they don’t get married type of books. I was so wrong. This book was actually really intellectual and entertaining.

In this book Lottie is a real estate apartment broker. She rent out high dollar apartments to New Yorks singletons. Her life is lived by rules and she doesn’t break them for nothing.

Her best friend Elsa May got pregnant and married off and she wants to go out and have fun. Since becoming a mother she has not had any time alone with her friends. While out with Mia and Lottie she comes up with an idea that bachelorettes have more fun and they should have a faux bachelorette party to see if that is true.

So the girls go out on a bachelorette party and Lottie is the faux bachlorette. Lottie is breaking so many of her rules that she doesn’t know how to cope. Then she runs into Tyler, an inspiring jewelry designer. He is everything that she doesn’t date, because he doesn’t check off any of her boxes of dateable qualities. But Lottie can not deny that there is something more to him. She tries to deny it.

As the girls continue to put on these faux bachelorette parties, Lottie can’t help but feel her life is out of control and she needs to stop breaking her rules and get her life back on track. Can Lottie do this? Will she find her perfect man with all the boxes checked off?

This story had so much more to it than the typical romance novel. These woman are highly intelligent and sophisticated. Letting loose for Lottie and Elsa May is extremely against everything they believe in. They struggle to accept change and as they grow up and get older things are not as easy to accept.

The book has a wonderful group of characters in it. They are so much fun, that you will be hooked till the end. I love Tyler’s carefree attitude and sexiness. I love Mia’s energy and Jane’s innocence. If you enjoy contemporary romances, then you will enjoy this book. I highly recommend it.

I liked Tyler, I loved his attitude, “thank you for acting so surprised,” he says. His chest inflates a little, and I find myself noticing his strong, broad shoulders. Tyler catches my eye and smirks. “It’s a nice confidence boost that you think I’m taken, but yes, I’m single.” This book was okay, I wasn't really in love with it, but I didn't hate it either.

This was short and such a fun read. I loved the premise of the fake bachelorette and their "lists". I loved the descriptive language used in the setting. New York felt like the fifth bachelorette.
