A good read for those who enjoy narratives largely focused on nature. Thanks to Netgalley for the Arc.

This story about a conservationist is a must for nature lovers. However, because of the threats and vandalism, I could not help but think of all the pioneering women whose lives were threatened when their findings disrupted long held believes.

I loved the connection with nature in this book. The main character has great appeal as an unconventional academic girl more interested in conserving beavers and moose than being obsessed with conforming to popular culture as so many are. The plot line is relatively gentle although tough subjects such as child abuse, and family break ups are covered. Thoroughly enjoyable read and refreshingly different. Almost inspired me to tackle hiking and camping out again....(almost!)
