If you like a caring, super sweet, guy next door hero that overuses the endearment “baby”, Levi, is your man, folks. He was the only highlight of the book for me. Fawn, the heroine, well, the name seems to fit. She’s about as doe eyed, clueless to what is going on around her as a newborn baby deer. Personally, I don’t consider that as being free-spirited or an attractive quality, as the synopsis implies. Throw in weepy, as well, since she cried at the drop of a hat. Not to mention she constantly seemed to be repeating every question Levi asked before actually answering them. Sometimes multiple times in a row. And that poor bottom lip of hers got quite the workout. It was her chew toy whenever she was nervous, happy, scared, sad, etc.

I definitely agree with other reviewers who are still scratching their heads wondering why in the heck Fawn was jogging with her eyes closed and waving her hands in the air during the opening scene, especially in a crowded area. Listening to music or not, that bumped her into my “not so bright” category, as well. For a moment or two, I foolishly thought the author was going to put a clever twist on it (claim she was scared/running from a mugger since the hero was a cop, etc.). But, no, she was just really that empty headed, folks.

For an instant attraction, with the hero immediately wanting more and the heroine claiming she’s too scared/insecure to give even a “Mr. Perfect” a chance, this came across as a quick, overly sweet, non-realistic read. The writing felt off the entire time, as well. I kept running into little things here and there that annoyed me enough it dampened my overall enjoyment. At the end of the day, it simply ran out of time to completely win me over. I couldn’t bring myself to finish it. That alone speaks for itself. By all means, please read other reviews. Here’s to hoping others really enjoyed it. Unfortunately, it just didn’t hit the spot with me. Mostly because I wasn’t overly fond of Fawn’s character or the robotic writing style.

Title: Running Into Love, Series: Fluke My Life (Book 1), Author: Aurora Rose Reynolds, Pages: 224, stand-alone but part of a series, did not finish, stopped at 57%.

3.5 wishful stars
I confess ARR is on a list of authors that I religiously read everything they publish but rarely truly love. Terri Anne Browning and J.L. Ostle are on this list as well and looking over all their books, I think I know why I read them but also why I get so frustrated with most of the books, this one being a prime example.
The story concept is cute and the general idea of both the H and h are fine. Nothing too stand out about either of them - teacher and cop with big families who somehow have large apartments in NYC on their can't be too high incomes (consider it the Friends scenario but in book form without the explanation of rent control). They meet cute and fall into insta-love (I can totally accept and enjoy this) and some stuff happens before they have their happily ever after but there is this feeling of being removed from the story that occurs with all the h/H describing everything happening. It comes across as "filler" to real action and I never feel connected with the main characters. I laugh and enjoy some of the actions but I can barely remember what happened or feel I am invested in the outcomes in any great way.
I am giving it 3.5 meh stars - wasn't mad I spent the time but not walking away feeling I got that much out of it.

"Love is just a word unless there is action behind it."

I've had this author on my radar for years, but this is actually the first of her books that I've read. Here I am, fist to forehead, wondering how I managed to make it this far without discovering for myself how talented she is. Trust me, I intend to make sure that doesn't happen again in the future.

I enjoyed the hell out of Running into Love and I'm thrilled that I got in on the first book in the series and have more to look forward to. I fell hard for the amazing characters introduced in this first installment and see so many possibilities for a long-running series.

Fawn is the type of girl I'd love to hang out with. Her internal dialogue alone is hilarious, she kept me in stitches from beginning to end. Throw in a sexy detective and her brain turns to mush and she becomes a tongue-tied klutz. There's no telling what will come out of her mouth. She even surprises herself sometimes, unintentionally speaking her thoughts out loud, much to the amusement of whoever is nearby. I found it sweet and amusing that she kept feeling #Dizzy and blamed it on Levi. That's what they're calling it these days?

Levi moved to New York following a job promotion and is now a homicide detective. He's decided that relationships are a waste of time and is focusing on his career. Well, that was the plan until she ran into him, literally. She was a hot mess that he couldn't help being drawn to. Imagine his surprise when later that same day he discovers she's his next door neighbor.

Fawn became so flustered when she ran into the hot detective that she wasn't making any sense. Her brain may have left the building, but when she got home, she discovered him in her building. What are the odds of the witness to her embarrassment being right next door to remind her? No matter how hard she tried to avoid him, he kept popping up. Each encounter funnier than the last. And then, once her two sisters saw him and felt the chemistry sizzling between them, she had no hope of steering clear of him. Everyone seemed to be ganging up on her, including herself. She couldn't stop thinking about him. She couldn't tell if he was interested in her or putting her in the friend-zone. Every time she thought she had it figured out he would do something to confuse her.

And then, as if they weren't enough entertainment all by themselves, a disobedient Muffin and some nosy family members got thrown into the mix. It was chaos at its best and I didn't want it to end. I can't wait to see who the next book will feature. The line forms here...

I absolutely loved this book! I adore all of Aurora Rose Reynold's books and by far this is one of my favorites. The interactions between Levi and Fawn were so sweet and the chemistry noticeable from the very start of the book. I didn't want to put it down until I finished. Can't wait for more!

A funny, sweet read with a likable couple. I really enjoyed this book and can't wait to read the next one in the series.

This book was a sweet romance that did not contain much drama or angst. The story flowed quickly and the interaction between the characters was cute and fun to read. There were so many moments of laughter that kept me entertained through out the whole book. This was a great start to a new series and I cannot wait to read more from this wonderful author.

Reynolds’ latest release, Running into Love, is quite the interesting title for heroine, Fawn Reed, because this accident prone and slightly awkward girl is a bit of a hot mess, and her uncontrolled actions have her literally running into Detective Levi Fremont, which is fine by him because this gorgeous, shy, and intriguing woman makes him want to take a chance on what they could be together, and even though he’s a little out of practice when it comes to relationships, Fawn makes it easy for him because even though he needs to take things slower than he would like, he knows that she’s worth it, which makes them great partners and one heck of a cute and sugary sweet couple.

Fawn and Levi’s story focuses on them building a relationship together amidst the craziness of life and two families who definitely are a bit on the insane and overwhelming side. Because the book is told in dual point of view, readers get to hear every internal thought from both main characters, which definitely helps understand where they’re both coming from and the things they realize as they pursue this newfound romantic relationship. What I especially liked about Fawn and Levi is that their physical connection didn’t happen right away; they grew into that part of their bond, which definitely fits the kind of woman Fawn is and demonstrates just how good of a man Levi is.

I’ll admit that some of the story seemed cutesy and there were parts that didn’t seem to depict Levi as the alpha male he was established as in the beginning, but overall, I enjoyed Fawn and Levi’s journey to their happily ever after and couldn’t get enough of the supporting cast of characters, which leaves me patiently waiting to see who the main characters are for book two in Reynolds’ Fluke My Life series.

My take on this book is that it had the usual ARR formula we know and like alpha hero and nice sweet heroine with some insta-love but slightly lighter . The heroine Fawn seemed quirky a little over exaggerated that it got a little annoying at times. That first scene threw for me and I finished the book not knowing why she runs eyes closed like she's flailing. Obviously meant to be cute and all run into hot cop, a bit amusing. It made me glare at the screen a bit. But hey of doing that makes you meet the guy why not.

This felt like cuter lovely side of ARR. I have to say Levi was not her usual alpha and that was ok. He was the good guy, sweet and understanding. He felt almost normal, he still has the protective and growly tendencies. Even if the heroine is in so in denial and unsure no worries from his side. Both main characters started of relationship shy at first how that changes throw a few antics, a huge goofy dog and family thrown in.

Fawn at first I felt ok she sounds like nice enough but some instances became grating on me. She can be eye roll inducing and exaggerated, comes off really silly and stupid. Somehow I manage to roll with it and find funny in that. The believability for the couple is there somewhat despite the insta feel. Some parts didn't fit in for me but I kept going it wasn't bad.

This is pretty much what I expect from the author light not much angst, easy and sweet read. And that's ok too you need that sometimes. Add little mystery or conflict plot device that brings the main characters together and the crazy antics of the secondary characters. All likable things, a bit predictable that many enjoy. I liked the other characters and their story makes me curious so I would still read the next.

Running Into Love was such a sweet and funny read! Aurora shows all her incredible talent in this first book of the Fluke My Life series. A wonderful strong leading lady and an off the charts sexy leading man headline this fantastic story!

I smiled and laughed and sighed from beginning to end. How could you not absolutely adore the totally accident prone Fawn Reed? From running with her eyes closed and knocking over an incredibly hot NYPD homicide detective that she feels an instant connection to only to find out that hottie is none other than her next door neighbor, Fawn’s life becomes a series of events that kept me turning the pages until I had completely devoured this story!

Levi Fremont may come off as the tough guy cop but he certainly has a soft spot for the little teacher next door with the totally stubborn dog. He has a crazy ex and an even crazier family that wants nothing more than to see him happy. Fawn certainly changes everything about his life – for the better. And don’t tell Aurora, but I think Levi is definitely a Mayson in disguise… or at least a distant cousin. This yummy dominant of a man has the Boom written all over him – NYC style!

Running Into Love is so full of feel great moments, gut busting clumsy laughs, and steamy chemistry between two total opposites who manage to find everything they need in each other. Fawn and Levi’s families and friends make this story such a wonderful distraction. Have no doubt Fawn’s family is just as crazy as Levi’s and they stole this book!

This is a wonderfully written story, such a happy swoony story! More please! Fantastic, ARR!

Five Fabulous Stars!

The beginning of this story threw me off a little bit and I with Levi and Fawn's interaction and I was a little worried that Fawn was going to be a little too crazy for me but that ended up not being the case. I really loved this book and was the perfect amount of sweetness and determination on Levi's part and the right mixture of sweet and sassy on Fawn's part. Aurora Rose Reynolds is an author that I know I can count of for a great story and Running Into Love delivered on that!

Yet another winner by ARR! I couldn't put this one down because I loved the insta-love action so much.

Fawn and Levi were great together. I loved Fawn's awkwardness and Levi's sweetness. They were absolutely perfect together.

Their families... omg... especially their mom's, were hilarious! A lot of great LOL moments.

I can't wait to read Libby and Mac's stories.

For some reason, I find myself unable to resist downloading Aurora Rose Reynolds books. Even though her last several books have been more than a bit disappointing to me, I just can’t seem to stay away from them. So I went into Running Into Love with a fairly decent amount of skepticism. And the first couple chapters didn’t do much to alleviate that feeling…

AAR is fairly formulaic in her heros, heroines, and plots. You get different characters and different conflicts, but the heroines just about always face great peril - which the hero rescues her from. There’s a lot of running dialogue about who is wearing what, and how hawt the guys are, and how that affects the heroine. Only because the author can also do a great job of pulling emotion out of the characters and situations am willing to hear over and over again about how hard the heroine’s nipples get whenever she’s around the hero...

So imagine my surprise when this story - which is the first in a new series published by Montlake Romance (AAR has previously been self-published) - was completely different from anything else I’ve read by her. In a word, this book was fun. It started off a little silly, but then turned into a sweet, cute story about Fawn and Levi, with an entertaining sidecast of both their families.

What this book didn’t have: dysfunctional families, tragic backstories, insta-love with a superfast physical relationship, or over-the-top drama. And it was so flippin’ refreshing!!!

Fawn literally runs into Levi while she’s out running. With her eyes closed. Yes, the whole scene is a bit slapstick (and almost put me off the book from the get-go). She’s horrified when she discovers the incredibly good-looking man is her new neighbor. Further embarrassment ensues when she and her sisters are mistaken for prostitutes, and Levi is the investigating officer. The attraction between them is mutual, but Fawn is a little slow in accepting that Levi is interested in her. But he’s determined, and patient. He even tells her he’s not taking her to his bed until she realizes that things between them are serious (swoon!). Throw in wacky, intrusive families, and this was a thoroughly entertaining story.

I often find that books which are supposed to be humorous can seem more slapstick and ridiculous. However, I didn’t feel that was the case here. Fawn and Levi’s families provided some really funny situations. The humor felt natural and wasn’t forced. There wasn’t much else to the story (there is a side plot dealing with murdered prostitutes that Levi is investigating, and a sad situation with one of Fawn’s students), and I was actually okay with it. The humor did a good job of carrying the story along, and I was surprised by that.

I believe there will be two more books to this series - one for each of Fawn’s sisters. And I am anxiously awaiting them!

Aurora Rose Reynolds is an amazing author and this book from her was phenomenal. Fawn is adorable yet has a bit of kick in her step. Levi is everything you want in a book boyfriend and so much more. The two together made the sparks fly!

This was a quick, sweet, low angst, fun read. It had some great humor, pretty much insta-love, quirky characters, and a loveable pupper, too. That being said... there were parts that seemed confusing to me including the opening scene of this book where the two MCs meet while she's running through New York with her eyes closed and flailing her arms... ummm, okay?? Odd. With our H being a detective with the NYPD, I thought "Oh... she must be running from a perp and he's gonna be the one to catch the bad guy and save the day." But, no... she was just running through a park with her eyes closed while flailing her arms.
Hmm... Confusing. There were a few other situations that were a tad odd and overly coincidental, but I'll not spoil any more of the book. Overall, this is a great little fluff read. And, aside from the few odd little quirky bits, it really was fun and funny to read with a decent amount of steaminess in there as well.

Avid Reader – ☆☆☆☆
M/F Romance

This is a sweet romance about finding the love of your life when you least expect it.

Fawn (the name, I had a hard time with – taking her seriously), but anyway, she was a carefree teacher who loves what she does. She hasn't had the best luck with relationships, so she has decided to just live her life, enjoy her family, and love on her kiddos.

Levi is a kind, gentle, sexy officer who can't get Fawn out of his head. When she literally takes him down while he's out running, he can't help but think that something might be wrong with her – I mean, who doesn't watch where they are going? He loves his family and knows that they want what's best for him. He has a small battle to get Fawn to see that he's truly interested.

The main characters complement each other and I can't wait to see what happens next.

Ruthie – ☆☆☆
This is without doubt a sweet and sexy read. Fawn and Levi meet under the strangest of circumstances and quickly recognise the connection – even if she wants to deny it.

I was interested in the outcome, even though there were times when I just wanted to understand the relevance of what I was being told – I still don't get why she was running with her eyes closed. I also have a few issues with the writing style, which was in no small part present tense, inner voice. I much prefer action to description, and whilst decor can give a clue to people's natures, knowing the detail of the interior design doesn't. Similarly, I can discover the differences between siblings from what they say and do, not being instructed. That said, it fitted Fawn's teaching nature to be constantly telling.

Muffin may have been the star – proving once again that dogs have excellent taste in people!

Running Into Love is the first book in Aurora Rose Reynold's Fluke My Life series and it's everything you've come to expect from her! It's got a great hero and heroine you just have to fall in love with!

Fawn in a school teacher and is jaded by love. After a few bad breakups, she's done with men. Levi is a police detective who moves in the apartment across from Fawn.  I loved their first meeting! Chemistry was there! Sparks all over, but since Fawn wasn't looking for men, she didn't really catch on.... at first! Their romance blossoms and I loved watching it unfold!

Aurora is known for her great contemporary stories and this one fits the bill! I loved everything about the couple, their families, and friends! There was a lot of humor to balance the seriousness of Levi's job. I look forward to being treated to some of the stories of their family!

If you enjoy a lighter read that's entertaining and sweet-look no further! I had a fun time reading it and I am sure you will too!
