At first glance you assume this is a book mostly about Karl’s son PK and his journey and life in the NHL. It is about that and so much more. Karl talks about his own life as an immigrant to Canada, an educator, and parent to five children, Karl has such a passion for young people and endeavours to make their lives better. This is a very inspiring book for non hockey lovers as well as those that follow the sport. I liked the writing style and found the book very engaging.

This is a book on Karl Subban by Karl Subban, so there's naturally more about him than his sons. Gets a little preachy at times but was an interesting read. A good read for parenting older children.

If you are looking for a lot about PK Subban and his hockey playing brothers, this isn't the book for you. It is more of a memoir of the father. I was hoping for the latter, disappointed that it was the latter.
