It's the Christmas holidays in Winsome, Pennsylvania, and Megan Sawyer is on her way home after a business trip to Philadelphia. She picks up a stranded motorist on the side of the road during a snowy evening. The young woman, Becca Fox, turns out to be the niece of Merry Chance, and she's been invited to town to sell her products during the season.

But when Megan drops the young woman off at Merry's home, there's another visitor - Becca's father Paul, and while he apparently wants to speak with her the reaction from Becca is completely malevolent. It's obvious she hates her father, but never more so than when she accuses him of murdering her mother years before.

Little does Megan know that this family's appearance in town will bring attacks on its townspeople instead of the reunion that Merry envisioned. When Paul is found dead and it's later determined to be homicide, the natural suspect is Becca. When the young woman shows signs of being mentally unstable, even the police chief is convinced she's guilty. But Megan isn't so sure, and when the attacks are somehow connected to her great aunt Sarah, Megan stumbles upon secrets from Sarah's past that could be a clue.

While Police Chief Bobby King - young but gaining experience quickly - is convinced he's got the right person for the murder, Megan isn't so sure. She continues exploring possible suspects to Bobby's chagrin, and the more she digs, the more she learns that Paul Fox was a master manipulator with a horde of enemies left behind. As her peaceful life starts to become unraveled by the devastation around her, she realizes she's in a race against time to find the person who really killed Paul, but little does she know she's also in a race against time to save herself...

This book is the third in the series and in my opinion is the best yet. Like a fine wine, Ms. Tyson's Greenhouse Mysteries only gets better with age. She is not only a talented writer, she is a talented storyteller as well. Her plots are well written, suspenseful and with enough twists and turns to keep us absorbed in the narrative.

This was a delightful tale of suspense and revenge, with a little bit of romance thrown in for good measure. The characters are given the full depth treatment: these are people who are animated and lively, fully dimensional and believable. Megan and her family and friends make the town of Winsome come alive, and I consider myself lucky to be able to share in their adventures.

When we come to the end and the murderer is revealed, it was put together in a deft manner that made all the pieces fall in place easily. While not completely unexpected, it didn't matter as the journey itself was an enjoyable read. Highly recommended and I look forward to the next in the series.

Megan offers a ride to a stranded motorist who turns out to be the niece of one of Winsome's shop owners. Becca is hoping to kick off her love potion business, but ends up a prime suspect in the death of her estranged father. When Megan's aunt is also implicated in the death, it becomes personal and Megan feels compelled to find out what really happened.

I've enjoyed the previous books in this series – the characters, the setting and the gardening aspects of the story, even though I'm not a gardener myself. This book felt a little different to me, and it took awhile to realize why. First, it's set in Pennsylvania in November, so there isn't much gardening going on, and I missed that. Second, while the characters we've come to know are in the book, most of them have only cameo appearances, which was disappointing as well. Despite that, I liked this book and found the mystery intriguing as the facts developed. I suspected the villain before the reveal, but wasn't sure of the motivation. There was a bit of what might be a cliffhanger at the end of the book, which I don't usually like, but I'll have to read the next in the series to figure out if it was indeed a hint of things to come.

Seeds of Revenge is the third installment in the A Greenhouse Mystery series featuring Washington Acres Farm and Cafe owner Megan Sawyer set in Winsome, Pennsylvania. Megan is content with the way things are progressing with her organic farm and the Café/Store but she is looking to extend her winter business by selling her organic crops to neighboring restaurants.

On her way back from Philadelphia in the midst of a blizzard she comes upon a woman hitch hiking and stops to pick her up. Megan discovers during the commute back to Winsome that the girl Becca Fox, is the niece of Merry Chase, local nursery owner. When dropping Becca at Merry's house, Megan witnesses a nasty argument between Becca, Merry and a mysterious man who turns out to be Becca's estranged father Paul Fox.

A short time later Paul is found dead and Becca quickly becomes the main suspect. Feeling in her heart that the young, love potion entrepreneur is not guilty of the crime, Megan sets out with the help of her grandmother Bibi, local veterinarian and boyfriend Daniel "Denver" Finn, Police Chief Bobby King and her staff to clear the girl's name. Megan quickly discovers that there is a lot of hidden bad blood surrounding the Fox family and is shocked to discover that her great-aunt Sarah Birch plays a big part in the mystery. As bodies begin to pile up, Megan realizes that all of the murders tie in to the mysteries that Sarah pens and is determined to find the killer before anyone in her family dies.

A fast paced storyline with a delightful cast of characters. As the series evolves so do the characters and I strongly suggest starting from the beginning in order to truly understand the complexity of the Sawyer family. Just the right touch of romance and a terrific pack of critters.

I received an advanced copy of Seeds of Revenge from NetGalley via Henery Press. While not required to write a review I am more than happy to offer my honest opinion.

Megan Sawyer and her friends from the small town of Winsome, PA, are in the middle of another series of murders, a series which could easily tear the town apart. Megan owns a small organic farm on the outskirts of town and also runs a small cafe and store in town in which she markets some of her products. The cafe has quickly become the hub of town gossip - if you want to hear the latest news (true or false) visit the cafe. Winsome was also a place that was inviting to family reunions - and this one was turning deadly.

The disliked patriarch of the family was the first to die - but others would follow. Then other members of the community started to be threatened as well. The police chief was young and was learning his role in murder investigations very quickly. This was not his first case (see Wendy Tyson’s earlier novels in this series for those details), but it was becoming his trickiest to solve. With so many misleading clues and possibilities, naming the wrong suspect could lead to more deaths.

A bit harsher than some cozy mysteries, but still a satisfying read. Set in rural Pennsylvania, the place almost feels like home (without the murders, of course): warm fireplaces, ice covered roads, small town life. A walk along the frozen canal might be just the way to finish day’s work. The town, the plot, and the characters will welcome all readers to again visit Winsome, Pennsylvania.

Wendy Tyson is a wonderful author. I really enjoyed reading Seeds of Revenge. Megan Sawyer is a fun heroine, and the mystery of Becca's father's death kept me reading long into the night. I did not want to put this book down. The Greenhouse Mystery series is excellent!! I've loved all three books in this series.

Wendy Tyson has produced another fabulous story in her Greenhouse Mysteries series. I was gripped with tension from the very first scene and it didn't let up until the end. The genius of 'Seeds of Revenge' is its juxtaposition with the 'most wonderful time of the year', which it certainly wasn't in Winsome, PA. As Megan Sawyer struggles with the holiday spirit she is entrenched with trying to solve murders in her small town. I appreciate the way previous storylines are addressed and there is growth and progress, especially in Megan's relationship with Denver. This is a brilliant and edgy mystery that I highly recommend!

Another great edition to a great series. Each book so far has been top notch but the newest is best by far!

This series just gets better and better. I loved that this one is set during Christmas and I absolutely love the cover. I was not expecting the storyline to go the direction it did and it kept me on the edge of my seat and unable to put it down. Tyson's characters are so well developed, and her descriptive writing style really helps you get into the story. cant say enough about this series, I love it and will recommend it to family and friends and on my Cozy Mystery Facebook page. Thank you for letting me review, loved it!

Another winner from Wendy Tyson, book 3 in her Greenhouse Mysteries series. I love the depth of the characters, the storyline taking place during the holidays, and Megan's various relationships between family/friends/loves. I really enjoy this series and love the way the book pulled me in from the first page.

*I'd like to thank the author/publisher/Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review*

The third book in the Greenhouse Mystery series is even better than the first two, I know.. hard to believe.
Organic farmer and ex-lawyer Megan Sawyer is drawn into another murder committed in her small Pennsylvania town. A relative of neighbor Merry Chance is murdered in such a way to suggest it's not quite kosher.
Odd things happen, some mirroring a local author and relative's murder/mystery tales, and it seems the locals have hones in on a suspect...but it doesn't feel right to Megan.
Her handsome veterinarian boyfriend, grandmother and assorted friends help to chase down answers, even if she doesn't have all the questions.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and finished it in hours, it was that hard to put down.
I requested and received an ARC copy from NetGalley, to my delight, as I am following this series. If you haven't read it yet, I highly recommend it for it's mix of family, intrigue and romance.

Seeds of Revenge by Wendy Tyson is an engaging cozy mystery that will leave you wanting more.

Christmas in the small town of Winsome seems beautiful and I was ready to enjoy this cozy mystery.
Was I surprised when this story took a wild turn and left me at the edge of my seat, gripping my kindle tightly, waiting for the next explosive situation.

Megan Sawyer lives on the farm with her grandmother, Bibi. She enjoys her life and her relationship with Denver, the local veterinarian.
After visiting the local restaurants, trying to interest them in her greenhouse veggies, Megan happens upon a young woman, walking through the snow storm.
As she stops to offer assistance, Megan has no idea she is going to become involved in another investigation.
As the story unfolds, family secrets are divulged and Megan's life turns into a whirlwind of destruction.
People close to her are hurt and it seems Megan will do anything to find the answers.

This is a fabulous book, by far the best in the series.
I can't wait to read book 4, it's bound to be even better.

Disclosure: A review copy of this book was sent to me by NetGalley and the publisher. All of the above opinions are my own.

I read an e book ARC from Henery Press through Net Galley.

The town and people of Winsome Pennsylvania are the connecting threads in the Greenhouse Mystery series centered on Megan Sawyer, her Grandmother Bonnie aka Bibi and their Washington Acres Farm and Cafe.

Book 3 features Merry Chase, owner of the garden nursery, and the return of her extended family; Paul, Luke and Becca Fox.

Megan is drawn into the drama when Becca is suspected of murdering her father, Paul.

Megan's relationship with Denver Finn and her Aunt Sarah move forward helping Megan to overcome her difficult past.

Looking forward to book 4!

A story that has more twists and surprises than most cozy mysteries. Love the main characters and the small town setting.

It was definitely Christmas in July, when I was lucky enough to get a chance to read this book. Wendy has a way to make you just fall in love with her character's, as well as wanting to move in to their town. Winsome is having a hard time slowing down with all the secrets that have been lurking. This book is the best one yet in this series. However, I believe the next will be even better considering the explosive ending you are left with in this book. If you love the others in this series you will be obsessed with this one.

Many thanks to NetGally for this book.
Seeds of Revenge is a very nice and enjoyable cozy mystery. I really like the fictional town of Winsome and the inhabitants – although sometimes it looks a little too picture perfect. Maybe that is why this book is so enjoyable – Winsome is not perfect and neither are the people. Sometimes they have dark secrets and nasty habits.
Main charachter Megan Sawyer is again the unwilling participant in a murder investigation, but she is getting the hang of it now. People trust her and open up to her. In this story she is very busy with finding out what could be wrong with a Winsome family she hardly knows, but who have a long and not always pleasant past with the rest of the villagers.
It is a cozy mystery and thus we see some action, but not too much; we mostly see how Megan is trying to solve the mystery, keeping her farm running and hope for a future with her boyfriend – and her mother. There are a lot of characters that we get to know better over time, the good ones and the not so good ones.
I’m looking forward to the next book in this series.
