This was short and sweet and yet, packed a powerful punch for all takers, even those that are like me and a bit lost and unsure where to go or what they want. It hits all the right notes; choosing your values, taking small chunks at a time, taking time for all goals and focus.
What sets this apart, besides the shortness, is that it's more focused on your values as goals than everyday goals like be the head of such and such, or save X number of dollars by this day. These tangible goals are important, but they have never been as motivating as my values.

Change Starts within You by Courtney McDermott is a short little book with a powerful impact. Inside this book you will find wonderful exercises to become sustainable for yourself not just the world. I loved the exercises in this book, they were simple but had a deep impact on me personally. I think everyone who wants to change themselves needs to read this book. It will show you how changing yourself can change the world.

A real wake up moment kind of book that will make you question things and ultimately look at what makes you happy and why. A positive and inspiring read.

Great advice! Very insightful - so meaningful for our busy lives. We need to remember where our focus should be.

There were some good things in this book even though there was nothing really new or ground breaking. However I felt it was a bit conflicted, on one hand the author has used her achievements as an example for what you can do with your life but the blurb is all about how achieving so much does not lead to happiness. I didn't feel as though this was the theme of the book. All the classic quotes were included and the author has tried to add some originality with the exercises. Take your life pictures is a great idea and a really good exercise. I think this will appeal to todays smartphone generations. I think it would have helped if more details of the how the author lives now, what her re-adjusted life looks like after applying all her recommendations had been included. I wanted to be honest about how the book made me feel as I read tonnes of self help books but I am equally sure that it will be the perfect book for lots of other people. Good luck with it
