I am a fan of the concept of this graphic novel series. I love the characters and the story idea. I was a little disappointed with this follow-up. Story seemed a little disjointed, and was slower to get into than the first.

This is the second book from Eddie Pittman, continuing the adventures of Red and her band of fellow exiles. Supplies are scarce and they settle on an election to decide who should lead and control the resources.

The story is deceptively and subtly deep, exploring interpersonal communication and relationships and compromise. It was a funny coincidence that the cover blurb was from Jeff Smith (creator of Bone) because this book reminds me in good ways of both Bone and Walt Kelly's Pogo while still being an original in its own right.

I thoroughly enjoyed the art and pacing and story. Wonderful work, highly recommended!

Four stars!
