This was a book I wasn't sure of at the beginning as it took me a couple of chapters to connect with, but once we connected my excitement grew with the story.

I can't imagine what it would be like to have a child taken from you in such a way never knowing if they were dead or still alive. This is what happens with Francine. The only thing she has held onto for ten years is hope , its hope that has kept her from completely going under, afterall, her ex husband is one hell of a no hoper at all, he really comes across to me a swine, hes given up all hope, hes married again, child on the way, and when Francine approaches him about something to do with their long lost daughter Autumn hes really thinking there is something wrong with his ex, shes barmy for even 'thinking' the item she has in front of her would lead or could lead them to their long lost daughter, hes of no help whatsoever.

A girl turns up Lena who professes to know where her daughter is, is she mad to even contemplate listening to this crazy young woman?

I loved this thriller in the end, it kept my attention and me turning pages, enough for me to keep moaning at anything or anyone that kept interrupting me!
Slow at first but really did pick up and well worth it for me.

This is a gripping thriller that gets going quickly and I read it more or less straight through. You need quite a strong stomach and I found some scenes fairly disturbing, but that certainly didn’t stop me reading on. Slightly unusually for this genre, the characters are very well drawn and believable, particularly Francine, the main protagonist, who has a difficult back story and isn’t always very likeable. She finds herself in an extreme situation, but her reactions make sense and feel authentic. The action-packed resolution is slightly less plausible, but by that time I was completely caught up by the narrative and didn’t care. This is an excellent read and I would definitely recommend it.

Really enjoyed reading this book - one of those you want to know what the next chapter brings. I really felt for Autumn's mother and then once Autumn was introduced into the book for her too.

This book started strongly. I was intrigued from the opening pages and it certainly seemed to have a lot of potential.

I really liked Francine when we first met her and (frighteningly) could relate to her weird rules - when she could drink and eat junk and trade-offs in terms of exercise… there was a sense of her attempting to retain some semblance of control and normality when she really just barely hanging on.

However the plot became somewhat implausible for me when Francine decided to kidnap someone for information / leverage and then attempt to overpower a dozen armed men (most of whom were supposedly ex military types) to potentially rescue her daughter.

Things fell into place a little too smoothly and it was almost impossible to believe Francine could actually succeed against ridiculous odds.

I would also have enjoyed a little more closure. I know it’s implied that the baddies will be uncovered, but it’s a little vague (the release of information - and beginnings of the thread of secrets to the journalist). And finally I wasn’t sure if the final lines were meant to be an indication of there being a bigger secret. I know Autumn suggested that her mother wasn’t really to blame for her kidnapping but if the implication is that someone else was involved (and I can’t say more) then it was a little too subtle for me to pick up. And if that wasn’t the intention I didn’t get the point of the last lines.

I think this is a good debut but might have benefitted from a some changes to the second half of the novel (and its plot). In addition to a structural edit (look at plausibility) also noticed a few small editing issues - different spelling of names (Lesley / Leslie) for eg.

I Know Where She Is by SB Caves was a thriller about Lena who was trying to find her young daughter who had gone missing almost a decade before. I enjoyed this book, it was fast paced and I could not put it down and read it in one day. The subject matter is not for the faint hearted. I would like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for my e-copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book draws you in from the start and builds up pace and suspense. If work hadn't got in the way, this would definitely have been a read-in-one-sitting kind of book! Very absorbing and a set of varying and not necessarily likeable characters - but for reasons that you understand. My mind is obviously accustomed to dark plots now as I was expecting a far more sinister outcome but can see that the door has been left open for a sequel. I really enjoyed this book but did find that the latter chapters were a little far-fetched for me, hence an overall 4.5* rather than 5* rating. But a rattling good read and one I'll be recommending

I was gripped by this book before it even came out. I remember receiving an email from Canelo which featured a newspaper article and a short paragraph about a young girl being kidnapped and the 10th anniversary of her disappearance is slowly coming up. Immediately, I knew I wanted to get sucked up in to this book and was straight on the go for requesting it on NetGalley.

Whilst the first couple of chapters started off a little slowly, the book really began to pick up the pace and I found myself having to take little intervals to calm the nerves and stress it was causing me, because it was THAT GOOD!

We meet Francine, a mother who lost her daughter, Autumn, ten years ago. She struggles every single day of her life to accept her daughter's disappearance and move on with her life; the only thing giving her hope to live is believing that her daughter is still out there somewhere, just waiting to be found. Her ex-husband on the other hand, is ready to move on with his life. With his new wife and expected child, Francine can't help but feel that he doesn't want to get to the bottom of his daughter's disappearance and prefers his new family instead.

When Francine receives a note stating "I know where she is", the question "how far will you go for the ones you love?" becomes more serious than you could possibly imagine. No mother ever wants to go through the loss of a child, I'm not a mother myself, however, I can't imagine being put in this situation and it would completely devastate me the same way it did for Francine, I would most definitely not be able to cope if I ever lost a child. So when Francine is given the opportunity to get her daughter, back, she is willing to go all lengths and show strengths she didn't even realise she had.

This book took a turn that I was NOT expecting at all. The reason for Autumn's disappearance was absolutely sick and twisted, I found my head wanting to explode because of how angry the story-line was making me. (In a good way, because I wanted these girls to be safe). It's the roller-coaster journey of a lifetime and you will not expect the twist and turns that are about to be thrown your way. The book completely keeps you guessing and it's hard to put it down.

As I completed the book, I was pretty much speechless. I didn't know how to deal with the events that had just happened in the book and when a book makes you feel like that, then you've got a good one in your hands. I would absolutely love it if S.B. Caves brought out a sequel to this, as I feel like there's so much more that can be put in to this story and I just want to know the details of how life is going for everyone prior the disturbing scenes before them. I loved each character (excepted the ex-husband), as they all bought unique personalities to the story and being a fan of psychology, I loved trying to think why such things were happening and what caused these people to do what they did. Francine and Autumn were my favourites, they both portrayed feisty personalities, as they were both so head strong and determined in any type of situation. I really believe it's a purchase you will not regret!

The story centres on a woman who has had her young daughter abducted when she was not watching her while shopping. After being missing for ten long years she is still obsessed with finding her daughter exploring every imagined avenue and being dismissed as being demented. Meanwhile her daughter has survived in a secret Institution that organises the abduction of young girls to be submitted to a cycle of psychological torture to make them compliant to the perverted desires of paedophiles’ before being groomed to serve clients. Any that become pregnant are confined like battery hens until they give birth before being submitted to the same cycle of events again. The building is in a remote and secured location organised like a high security prison complete with armed guards and dogs. It serves powerful men who are able to enjoy their perverse paedophile desires while ensuring its’ finance and security. When by chance the mother finally has a lead she metamorphose into an avenging angel , a lone ranger gun totting mama intent on rescue and revenge whatever the odds. The novel is really a denouement of celebrities and others in high esteem who are paedophiles hidden under a clock of fame and public adoration.

A book that is written with flair to hold the readers attention throughout. A difficult subject to to recount but done with style. I found it almost impossible to put down. Congratulations to the author.

SB Caves is on to a winner with his debut novel, a spine tingling thriller about every parents worst nightmare, it's about a young girl, Autumn and her mothers struggle to find her abducted daughter who went missing 10 years before and who she is convinced is still alive, even though every one else believes she is dead, and then one day she finds a note with 5 words on it, I know where she is. Once started I didn't want to put it down, it has a terrific pace and doesn't slow for a second. It's well worth a read.

I was quite perturbed by this book. I thought the theme was disturbing and serious but dealt with in a rather superficial manner. It did not sit well with me at all, and as a result I did not enjoy it.

This was a really gripping read, which completely drew me in. The story centres around the aftermath and destruction caused to a couple when their child is abducted. Seen through the eyes of Francine, it revolves round her attempt to find her missing daughter after she receives a cryptic note. Dismissed by her ex husband she goes after her daughter alone. Truly gripping.

This book is a real page turner. The 5 word title gripped me from the beginning as it showed a glimmer of hope for one mother who's life had been almost destroyed by every parents worse nightmare - child abductiion. Ignoring the total denial of her ex husband she carries on alone to discover the truth of what did happen to their daughter who she has always believed is still alive. The descriptive text hooked me in to almost see, feel and hear the story unfolding, albeit at times some of the action became a little unbelievable. The final chapters did not bring a finale of happy ever after that most thrillers do but left me knowing there is more to come. Roll on the sequel!

One day she receives an unmarked envelope containing a note with the words I KNOW WHERE SHE IS. Francine is a mother who has never given up hope of seeing her only child again and this might be her only chance to get answers.
Will is her ex husband and media personality with a new family. Lena, a young girl with problems, claims to know Autumn and how she can be found. She provides fresh information which might help track down their daughter. Will refuses to help his ex wife believing the stress has been too much for her and she is having some sort of breakdown. Out of desperation Francine decides to go it alone and possibly put her own life at risk. While making enquiries she discovers police and several high profile identities are part of a group involved in shocking crimes against young women.
I really felt for Francine and could only imagine how far reaching the effect would be on a mother. Her dogged determination was impressive with Will appearing a tad wimpish until I found he too struggled to cope, unable to express his feelings openly.
I was expecting all those involved to be caught and held responsible for their crimes. Discovering most of the ring escaped punishment was a bit disappointing. I felt the ending didnt really shut the door on past events and hopefully that will be rectified if there is a sequel.
Readers who enjoy crime thrillers and good mystery with a cultish theme will enjoy this book.

Initially I did struggle with this book; I had just finished Gather the Daughters and had been left more than a little disturbed by the subject matter, so it was pretty tough to go on to another book which had the sexual abuse of young women as a plot point.

I felt the title got off to a slow start, and I started off not liking any of the characters. The predictably strained relationship between Francine, her ex-husband Will, and his new wife, was disappointing. I got annoyed by Lena's character very quickly after her introduction. I wondered whether it was worth persevering with. However, I am really glad that I did.
Once Autumn (Melody) was the focus, it felt like the book turned a corner and my interest was peaked. Autumn was a much stronger and more likable character. There were some elements of this section that I did skim read, just because they were quite graphic. I was gripped and would've finished the second half in one sitting, if I hadn't had to get up for work the next day!

I will absolutely be recommending I Know Where She Is, and look forward to reading more work by S.B. Caves.

This is one of my favourite reads this year by a mile. Hard reading at times but such a fantastic story. Huge 5 stars.

This book is absolutely brilliant. I didn't know what to expect when I downloaded this. It's heartbreaking in parts, especially how they where treated by their captors. It's the best psychological thriller I have read in a while, I would love to see this on the big screen. It would be an absolute brilliant film. The ending I thought went too quickly I would have liked for just a bit more. Thank you for the opportunity to read this book.

This is a good, fast paced thriller, and anyone looking for a book for the beach should get a copy. The story involves girls who are captured and kept as sex slaves, for many years. I found this heart breaking, particularly as there have been several real life cases of this. The main character (Francine) is sympathetically drawn. However, ultimately, the plot became too far fetched for me, and I needed up speed reading the final chapters, hence 3 stars.
