4.5 stars. Throughly enjoyed this psychological thriller. It had me hooked from the first page and I didn't want to put it down. Would definitely recommend this book.

10 years ago Autumn went missing. Francine, Autumn’s mum, has been looking for her ever since. Whilst everyone else seems to be getting on with their lives and moving on, Francine has never been able to do that. She wants to know what happened to her daughter. The desperation in this leads to Francine becoming an alcoholic who visited psychics, hoping they could provide some answers. Her marriage to Autumn’s dad, Will has broken down and he is now living with someone else. One day, Francine receives a note simply saying “I Know Where She Is”. She has no idea who sent it or what it means, but she takes it to mean that Autumn is still alive. She takes the note to Will, but he dismisses it as a hoax. A mystery stranger, Lena then turns up and tells Francine that Autumn is still alive and she knows where she is!

Now, this may be difficult to review without giving too much of the plot away. It’s obvious that Autumn is still alive, but what isn’t obvious is why she was taken all those years ago. Lena tries to provide some of these answers to Francine, and whilst she believes her when she tries to include Will on what Lena has told her, he again dismisses it as lies and insinuates that Lena is a fraud. The story unfolds quickly with Francine starting her own investigation into what happened and what is still happening now. It’s not an easy subject matter with some descriptions of child abuse and child kidnapping, but it picks up a fast pace through to a great ending!

I feel for Francine in this book, she has obviously found it difficult to move on with her life like everyone else seems to have. Her ex-husband thinks she is a clingy, depressed alcoholic. He seems to be using his daughter’s disappearance for book signings and TV appearances, obviously generating an income from this. Whilst no one, unless they have been in this situation, would know how they would behave in this situation, you would like to think that they would hold out one little thread of hope that your daughter was still alive, even after all this time. Thankfully, Francine goes with her gut instinct and does what she needs to do to find her daughter!

An excellent roller coaster of emotions with some great twists and turns. Well recommended if you love a gritty psychological thriller! Five stars!

Found this totally unbelievable, sad to say gave up 30% through, such a shame

Firstly I found the start of this a bit slow. Over two days I was reading the odd pages. Then I sat this afternoon and thought I better give it a chance. I'm so glad I did. The pace picked up and apart from making dinner I couldn't put it down until I'd finished it.

At the beginning we meet Francine. Her life fell apart ten years ago when her daughter went missing. She struggles each day and the only thing keeping her going is hope- hope that her daughter Autumn is still alive. Francine ex husband is no help to her. I can understand his need to move on but I really did not like him.

Francines life changes when she finds a note hand delivered to her house saying 'I know where she is'. Francine is given hope by a stranger.

So I really don't want to give too much away. This was one of them kinda reads that if it was a movie I'd be watching it behind a cushion. You know the type where you wanna see what's gonna happen but your also afraid lol

If your looking for a really well written thriller then I certainly recommend this read. If like me you find it a tad slow at the beginning keep going as it's certainly worth it. Looking forward to reading more from this author. Maybe a book two? 4.5 stars

This book was certainly something, it had me on the edge of my seat - even after it had finished, leaving me with questions yet unanswered. Well written!

I decided to start this last night and finally finished at 3am!
I could not put it down.
The characters were realistic and the main character is likeable which is always the key to a good book.
I would definitely recommend buying this and once published will buy for my friend's birthday.

4.5 stars for I Know Where She Is by SB Caves.

I hate to think how I would have coped had one of my children been abducted. In the beginning I was judgmental of Francine, whose daughter Autumn was abducted some 10 years prior to the start of this book. Francine coped by becoming a functioning alcoholic who regularly consults psychics. Her husband Will coped by turning his daughter's disappearance into an industry.

Fast forward, and Francine receives a hand delivered note with only the words 'I KNOW WHERE SHE IS '.

And so begins an unpredictable, and at times improbable and unbelievable, but utterly riveting roller coaster ride as Francine follows her gut instinct to try to save her daughter. Is the note a cruel hoax, or does someone really know where her daughter is?

I Know Where She Is deserves to be made into a movie. I could see it all unfolding before me as I read.

Caves leaves me in no doubt that she is an author to be watched. Her writing is dynamic. Her characters are flawed, unpredictable and all too human; her descriptions of the settings so realistic I could picture myself there.

Don't be surprised if there is a sequel; the door has been left wide open for this to happen.

I just love this book! Although the beginning takes some time to take off, the rest of the book just fly through without you noticing. The time line is actually quite short, but the writer manages to pack it with loads of excitement. It's a tense, and gripping book. A compulsive read that has wonderful plot twists that leaves you breathless. There were times where I have to stop, as it gets too intense.
I would definitely recommend this book!

I had to stop reading. Too many trigger warnings that should be at least hinted in advance... I don't have the stomach right now for reading ugly things which are portrayed in a not so sensitive way. I don't know, this book is not for me.

As the first story I requested and in turn was sent from NetGalley, I didn't really know what to expect. If anything I was worried I might be stuck with a stinker, but I needn't have fretted at all. I Know Where She Is was a rip-roaring success from cover to cover.

SB Caves manages to keep you gripped from the very first page right through to the last, which in itself is no easy task. Too many thrillers lose steam somewhere around the middle, or take too long to pick up the pace and never really get going in the end, filling your head with unnecessary back story or flowery dialogue that just doesn't get your heart racing. I Know Where She Is doesn't fall into any of these traps and it's no wonder I finished the book in just under a day. I needed to know what happened next.

Francine, as dysfunctional as she is, is a likeable and strangely warm character. You can't help but feel sympathy for her plight, she's facing every parent's worst nightmare after all. But she weathers it well, unlike ex-husband Will who dismisses Francine's hope at every given opportunity. It's Will's condescension that pushes us firmly in Francine's corner, egging her on until the very end.

Lena and Melody are the books other two 'goodies', each as damaged as the other and with very good reason. Their stories are harrowing and not easily read, but SB Caves manages to pull you back in just as soon as you think things are getting a bit too heavy. Their plight is not unlike the stories we're bombarded by in the papers on a regular basis and Caves handles the subject marvellously.

The women in this book, bar one or two, are magnificent examples of strength, courage and perseverance in the face of cruelty. The men in their lives are cold, controlling and everything that's wrong with the world. I'm not sure SB Caves set out to write such a feminist story of empowerment, but I Know Where She Is definitely screams girl power.

My only criticism? He doesn't have another novel waiting for me to indulge in right this second.
