I greatly enjoyed this latest installment to the Family Skeleton series. Let's be honest....a "living" skeleton is outlandish. Somehow, the author weaves this quirk into a really good mystery. Many cozy mysteries are long on cute, but lacking in actual story. This series, however, combines a smart mystery with humor and a decidedly different twist. Great fun!

I don't know how I've missed this series. This is book 4 of the Family Skeleton Mystery series and I loved it. Already have found the first 3. A very unique combination of cozy and paranormal with Georgia teaching at a new school and Sid mailing himself to her because he's lonely. Friends since childhood Sid is a very animated and real skeleton who helps her solve the crimes they seem to stumble onto. Funny with a good mystery story to solve. I have added Leigh Perry to my list of look for new books and buy immediately. A nice quick read you won't want to lay down.

This is a well-written and tightly woven whodunit that I devoured because I had to know how this was all going to end. The narrative was cleverly dispersed putting me in the middle of all the action as Georgia and Sid go about looking for clues with a suspect pool that was small yet everyone had a motive or two. With short chapters, it was easy to follow along with the progression of the multi-plot storyline. The author does a great job in presenting this drama with engagingly witty repartee, a lovable cast, although I did miss Madison’s presence, and the perfect winter scenery which played a factor in the outcome of this deliciously charming series. This is by far the best book in the series and I can’t wait to see where we go next with Georgia, Sid and the rest of the gang.

The Skeleton Paints A Picture is the fourth book in this series by Leigh Perry.
I've been a huge fan of this series since the first book and each one gets better and better.
Georgia Thackeray is an adjunct professor and her newest assignment is at an art school.
Georgia has barely settled in when she finds some packages at her front door. Of course, I can't tell you what was in them.

A night time search turns up an unexpected development and when the body of a fellow professor is discovered, Georgia can't help but get involved.

Stolen art, a battle for tenure and a sleazy professor are just a few of things Georgia will discover in her search for truth.
You won't want to miss this exciting add to the family skeleton series.

I voluntarily read an ARC of this book provided by the publisher and NetGalley.

I remember learning there was a mystery series featuring a living skelton sleuth; so glad I had a chance to read a part of the series and will not only look forward to future titles but will look for the three earlier titles and read them as well.

Plausible mystery (if you ignore that Sid is actually a living skeleton). Sid and Georgia are very good company for a reader as well as being well developed characters, Elated that at the moment when I was thinking "why would you do that when you should ... ", they did what they "should". Don't mess with Sid!

What an absolute delight to have the return of Sid!
This latest offering really highlighted the relationship and teamwork of Sid and Georgia.
I really enjoyed the whodunit and look forward to reading the next in the series.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Yes, Sid is back, so happy to see this series continue. Really liked it the twist at the end, and loved they way the relationship between Sid and a Georgia grew in this one. The only thing that could be better is a Sid of my own!

I really like this series and I was pleasantly surprised that the book included a genderfluid character who was treated with respect and dignity and not as a plot twist or narrative device. This is the first time I've seen this in a cozy mystery and it's been a long time coming!

It's hard to pick a favorite with so many great cozy mystery series out there to choose from, but Leigh Perry's books about Sid the Skeleton are always at the top of my list. This time around Georgia is staying in an isolated bungalow while she teaches at Falstone Art and Design University. She's feeling a bit lonely -- at least until Sid mails himself to her. (If you haven't had the fun of reading this series yet, Sid may not know who he was when he was alive, but he's a very resourceful skeleton.) The mystery was complicated and satisfying and Sid and Georgia are always a lot of fun to read about. I highly recommend this one.

I absolutely love this series. I bought the first book on vacation several years ago and have been eagerly devouring the sequels.

Sid and Georgia are a unique duo. Georgia is a English professor whose career is always in flux due to her adjunct professor status. Sid, well, Sid is a skeleton. That's right--a living skeleton. His personality is so well-developed and is as part of the plot as much as Georgia.

Georgia is spending a lonely winter teaching a bunch of students from the local art college. Sid ships himself to her and within the first few hours, they are embroiled in the death of an associate at the college. The plot thickens with possible art copyright infringement, backstabbing (not literal) and some dubious flirting techniques by a male co-worker.

I don't want to give all the plots away but read this series. I hope if Hollywood picks this up as a story, it does justice to Sid and Georgia.

Sid has returned!! He and Georgia are once again facing murderous problems in academia. Who knew that being a facility member of a college would be so deadly?? Georgia and Sid look into the possibility of design theft. Students' work has been appearing on tee shirts, but the students aren't earning any of the royalties or the creative credit. It is wonderful to have Georgia and Sid back! They are modern day Sherlock & Watson but just because Georgia has a PhD, she wonders why she has to be Watson. A great read all will enjoy. Looking forward to many more in this series.

I suspend disbelief for vampires, werewolves, and shape-shifters, but a girl and her best friend the talking skeleton is really pushing it for me. DNF.

Once again, a very enjoyable romp with Sid and Georgia! Working yet again as an adjunct professor, this time at an Art College., Georgia is feeling a little bit lonely until she finds two packages mailed from her parent's house sitting on her front porch. Sid mailed himself to her! Because it is deep winter with lots of snow, Sid is able to wear lots of clothing layers to disguise the fact he is a skeleton. Lots of opportunities for him to be out and about the neighborhood after dark which leads to him finding a body. The woman works at the same college as Georgia, in fact in the same department. Fearing she is the top suspect in the woman's death, once again Georgia (and Sid) are chasing clues and searching for not only a murderer, but an art thief as well. Well thought out and entertaining book, I totally enjoyed the hijinks.

First, for those people with issues about non-mainstream gender/sexual identity characters in the books they read, you may choose to skip this book since a secondary character is gender fluid. There are no sex scenes or intimate situations, but it serves no purpose reading this book if you know it's a trigger for you and your enjoyment of a book (and then leaving a negative review solely based on that issue).

I'm giving this latest outing of Georgia and Sid a rarely used 5 star rating. I really enjoyed this story and how the author manages to get Sid out of the house in a realistic manner, especially in this book. It was not the setting you'd expect like a haunted house as in the last book.

This time it's just Georgia and Sid as Georgia is away from her daughter and parents working as an adjunct prof. at an art school. As a university employee myself, I could appreciate the veracity of the author's details. The story is quite complex and there's a lot happening.

The back story for the murder is not a situation that I knew or thought about much and the novelty added to my enjoyment.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the author continues to incorporate Sid in a realistic way (accepting that a skeleton can be "alive').

I received my copy from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
