This is a solid comic that ramps up every story line it touches. The comic contains flashes of action and emotion, allowing it to stands out as something exciting. It also helps build plot lines surrounding Batman’s trajectory in life, the Flash’s past, and the mystery surrounding DC’s entire Rebirth era. Readers interested in experiencing the full DC Rebirth mystery should not miss this crossover event.

I am frankly usually not interested in reading anything Flash-centric, he's just not my preferred character. But I am really interested in the idea of this crossover event and excited about the launch of something new tying in the Watchmen universe. I had trouble with my galley copy and could only read half of it but I am already looking forward to buying a print copy of this and finding out the rest of the story.

I didn't download this in time so I wasn't able to read the copy on my ipad. However, I did eventually read it and it was very entertaining. It wasn't dark like a lot of Batman comics are and I appreciated that about it.

Almost half the pages were blank with a dashed red line around the outer edge of the pages. The pages that were complete were okay, but I couldn't follow the plot at all.

So, 3 incomplete stars.

I wanted to like this book, but there was something lacking. I felt like the build up was all there, but then in the end I left unsatisfied. It may be that since I'm not as familiar with DC as Marvel that I'm missing key parts here.

ARC from Netgalley.
That iconic button. Showing up on the wall of the Batcave (see: DC Universe: Rebirth #1) has had Bruce asking questions since then. During his investigation, the button finally does something when it reacts to Psycho Pirate's mask. Bruce calls Barry, hoping the Flash can maybe shed some light. Seconds later... Reverse-Flash enters the Batcave (somehow resurrected) and begins a fight. Taking the button, a crazy thing happens to Reverse-Flash.... he disappears, returns to the cave, claims to have seen God... and melts away, dying just as Barry shows up.
The remaining journey takes place in the Speed Force, alternate timelines, Thomas Wayne from Flashpoint, and is a fun ride for all.
Two quotes:
"Remember son, when we fall, Waynes' never stay down. WE RISE."
"Don't be Batman. Find Happiness. You don't have to do this for me. Don't do it for your mother. Let Batman die with me."

.... and the button gets picked up by a blue hand.... Could it be Dr. Manhattan?? I patiently wait for Doomsday Clock....

Been waiting for this one and I am not disappointed. High recommend.

Back when Wally returned, Flash and Batman found a bloodied yellow smiley face button in the Batcave. But right after the button interacted with Pycho-Pirate's mask, Reverse Flash appeared and beat up Batman, took the button and left only to return dead. Flash and Batman follow the trail of radiation using the Cosmic Treadmill only to view strange meetings and crash landed in the Batcave of Thomas Wayne and finally returned to their own Batcave with the aid of Jay Garrick who then disappeared. Interesting imagery at the end. Makes you wonder what the interaction of the Watchmen will be with the rest of the DC Universe will be.

This was a great read. With Rebirth, DC reinvigerotated their books, which desperately needed help. It also created a mystery that could feed through their books over the next few years. And it tied to the Watchmen universe somehow, which was basically an atomic bomb to the fan communities. And with this story, you finally get to see what happened next. It’s a quick read, and I think that hurt it just a bit. But it’s fun and exciting. When a crossover starts with Batman almost being beaten to death, you know you have to keep reading.

This is empty. Reading this at this stage in proceedings I felt I learnt nothing about anything, and indeed the blurb on netgalley for this book (The Watchmen have invaded!!) taught me more than the whole bleddy thing. The problem with Rebirth was that it was such a non-event - a great majority of the comics to come out of it were just shite, or ignored the whole Rebirth thing, or of course both. So everyone outside the DC cabal forgot there was a whole thing with the thing about the thing doing thing to thing. Now, along comes this book which teaches you, the reader, and them, the main characters, absolutely zilch. So lenticular cover or not, it's a waste of space and time (and space/time). It looks OK, but the whole exercise from DC - reboot to sell more monthlies and wait multiple years before finding a justification, while mostly ignoring it to sell the same pile o' crap across the collector's counter - is very, very sucky, and very, very forgettable.

This picks up after the eponymous Rebirth one-shot and does a nice job of answering questions about the Rebirth-universe, a world which deviates from the post-Flashpoint changes which had resulted in the New-52 universe. It was great to see Eobard Thawne and Thomas Wayne once more, as well as Bruce and Barry banter. Batman, Flash, and DC Rebirth fans will enjoy this, as will fans of Tom King's other DC work. I am excited to see what the future holds for DC Rebirth. Most highly recommended!

The idea behind this prologue to the DC summer event looked great. The artwork was terrific; the character were well drawn and the images bright and compelling. The writing was deeper than I expected. It was thought provoking and made me want to find out where this story line is going.

There's a few cool moments here, and it's nice that the threads from Rebirth are being tied together, but so much of this short volume seemed like a stopgap on the way to the next chapter (Doomsday Clock). It was like being on a (cosmic) treadmill: just running in place.

Good crossover. You will need to read Flashpoint if you haven’t . Fun story . Amazing artwork . Reverse Flash knocks out Batman and steals the button . Batman and The flash try to figure out the origin . This story has some good cameos and overall is engaging story

I did not even know about this amazing crossover event until a friend who reads monthly books told me about it. So, of course, I was interested once crossover was mentioned. I loved the Watchmen story and also enjoy the current Rebirth run. Getting to see Thomas Wayne as Batman again really made my inner fanboy very happy. This is definitely a storyline I want to read more of.

Following on from the events of Flashpoint, Batman finds a mysterious blood specked yellow button and with the help of the Flash, jumps through various time holes to find the clues that answer some questions but leave a lot more unanswered. As is now common place with the recent DC ReBirth universe this is a stunningly drawn graphic novel and I can’t wait to see what happens next.

That was weird, really, really weird. I have some ideas about the button, but it's been so long since I've read some parts of the wider DC universe that I'm second guessing myself a little bit.

Still, aside from the bigger implications of the TPB, the story within it was pretty cool.

We got to see just a bit more of Thomas Wayne as the Batman, and got to meet yet another lost character from the past which was very, very cool.

So, Doomsday Clock is next huh? Sounds interesting. As was the particular shade of blue at the end.

I was given this ARC by Netgalley on behalf of DC Entertainment.

I'm a huge fan of Batman, and also of the Watchmen. Honestly, I have cut back on my comic book reading quite a bit in the last 5 years. The only super hero book I read was the GN collections of Batman and Detective in the New 52 and hadn't read any of the rebirth titles. I stay passingly familiar with what is going on in general in the super hero world through reviews and online updates. I know a bit of The Flash, but have never read the title seriously.
A lot of the book has ties to things that happened in the Flashpoint event (that launched the new 52?). It also has the Reverse Flash as the protagonist. I really only know anything about this character from the TV show and passing references from my general awareness of the comic book world. Lacking all of this backstory, I wasn't sure what to expect.
All things considered, I enjoyed the book. It was a good crossover between Batman and the Flash and it was good to see the Cosmic Treadmill being used again. There was enough backstory given within the context of the GN that I didn't feel overly lost without having read the Flashpoint books. The Watchmen Crossover aspect was really just a tease, and honestly this could have been just a Batman/Flash crossover and left that bit out. Batman and Flash don't really solve the mystery they started out their quest about, which was disappointing, but I would guess it was to leave the mystery in place to spur sales of the Watchmen crossover coming out soon.

An interesting read and a primer for DC’s next crossover event.
