Fairytale by Danielle Steel was just another mediocre novel to me. It wasn’t very original and even though it kept my attention, it was nothing special. Fairytale follows Camille, who is the daughter of a very successful winemaker, Christophe. Christophe’s wife, Joy, dies of breast cancer and within a year he is remarried to a very conniving woman, Maxine. When Christophe dies in a plane crash, you discover Maxine is really a wicked stepmother. Fairytale follows Cinderella perfectly, so you basically know what is going to happen before it even happens.

My wife loved this book. She has been a fan of Steel for along time and this one definitely did not disappoint.

I've read so many Danielle Steel books and they are always a good time. This one was slow, I thought, and a bit unoriginal. Disappointing.
That being said...Danielle Steels books on a bad day are still better than a majority of books on the market.

What a sweet story written in modern day but based on Cinderella. I really liked the characters in this book and would love to see a sequel to see how life goes on for them.

This is a fairly typical Fairytale title by author Danielle Steel. Very predictable about losing the one you love and learning to love again. Not my favorite of her but a decent read.

Typical Danielle Steel story- girl meets boy, boy dies and she must overcome the tragic effects and then fall in love again. Too many of her books follow the same pattern ...

Fairytale by Danielle Steel is a sweet story with some sorrow, but oh, how I enjoyed it. I was so excited to see the setting as Napa, California. I am from Sonoma County, so very close by and love reading books where I recognize and have been to the places being frequented by the characters. Fairytale is a modern version of Cinderella, one of my favorite fairytales. This one is complete with a wicked step mother, step siblings, a ball, an adorable fairy godmother, and a prince. This book was a fast read for me, but thoroughly enjoyable. I'd suggest it for either a cold winter evening where you are cozied up by the fireplace or a summer read by the pool. Some of it was predictable and this is not masterpiece fiction, but if you want to read a book where you fall in love with characters and feel the author paints a beautiful setting, you will also enjoy Fairytale.

Despite it being a fairytale, I found much of the book to be a stretch and did not become as engaged as many others have. I only occasionally read Danielle Steel but usually find her books to be a light, entertaining read. I didn't hate this book but I didn't really like and would really like to have my time back. Still 3 stars because many will like it.

Danielle Steel is one of the authors that made me love to read many years ago. In the past ten years or so however, I’ve tended to shy away from her books because I found them to be repetitive. I’m so glad that I’ve decided to give her books another try. This is the second book of hers that I’ve read in the past month, and I must say that it was a very entertaining, although predictable, love story. Fairytale is just that…a modern day happily ever after that borrows from the classic Cinderella story. Set in the beautiful Napa Valley, we follow the Lammenais family: Christophe, his wife Joy, and their daughter Camille, owners of a very successful vineyard and winery. Their idyllic life suddenly changes after tragedy strikes and Camille faces a future that she never would have thought possible.
Even though this was predictable, I must admit that I couldn’t put this book down as it made me cry, laugh, and also mad at times. Fairytale was a pleasure to read, the characters were interesting and the setting was beautiful. Thanks to Netgalley for this ARC in return for an honest review.

I love Danielle Steels books. This one is a modern telling of the Cinderella story.....Cinderella meets Napa Valley! While not my favorite book by her it was still good. If you live romance you must read this!

I couldn't stop reading this book, I was hooked. Another great book from Danielle Steel.

I normally enjoy Danielle Steel but I just could not get into this story.

This is an emotional and dramatic story. It's slow reading at times, and a little predictable. The characters are fascinating, both the good and bad ones. It's not quite as good as I expected, but it is written well.

Fairytale: A Novel is prolific author Danielle Steele’s latest offering and her version of Cinderella set in modern day Napa Valley. Steele is a popular author with more than 650 million copies sold of her books. She has a giant fan base. But her books are generally not literary fiction as much as fairly well done escape fiction so I honestly have not read one of her books since the 1990s! The words “Cinderella “ and “ Napa Valley” caught my eye so I agreed to review it. When I was a school librarian I read so many fun versions of the Cinderella story for different ages from all around the world I was intrigued to read yet another. It was predictable escape fiction, but I was hooked after the first chapter or two and wanted to see how Steele would play out the fairytale and what would happen to the Cinderella protagonist Camille Lammenais. Camille, who is in her early twenties, is the only child of Christophe and Joy Lammenais who have created a small but well thought of vineyard in Napa Valley. Christophe, a native of Bordeaux, meets Joy when he travels to Stanford to take graduate classes in viticulture and oenology. They fall in love, and thanks to an inherited legacy from Christophe’s French family, marry, found Chateau Joy, and give birth to a beautiful daughter, Camille. This happily-ever-after fairytale takes a sad turn when Camille, who is poised herself to graduate from Stanford and join the family business, loses her mother to cancer. Predictably, Christophe falls under the spell of a self-centered and evil woman, the Countess de Pantin ( Maxine), and marries her. Along with Maxine comes her two vapid sons and her surprisingly lovely elderly mother who quickly becomes Camille ‘s fairy godmother. I enjoyed this book after the first few chapters, and it hooked me despite the fact that it was very predictable. If you are in the mood for an escapist novel that is not too deep, this is a good choice. I do, however, wish more time had been spent on the relationship between Cinderella and her prince although in the fairytale I guess they don’t spend much time together either! I did love Steele’s take on the fairy godmother and the amount of time she spent on that relationship. Very fast paced and very intriguing. I enjoyed how it kept me hooked and it was an original story. Nowadays so many books read the same. Highly recommend

Fairytale is basically a modern-day reinvented Cinderella story. This is my first Danielle Steel book but my mother in law loves her, which was honestly my draw to this book initially. I really enjoyed the book the twists and emotions in the book made it seem more realistic. I also requested my mother in laws opinion after she had bought and read it because she has read and owns almost every book by Danielle Steel. She told me what she liked about the book and when asked Howe it was in comparison to other books what shew thought. She loved it and it was up there with some of her favorite books.

Christopher and Joy Lammenaus are serotonin love, they own a vineyard in Napa Valley. They both work in the countervailing with granddaughter Camille. So Maxwell until Joy gets cancer and dies
Christopher Aries his daughter, she continues to help run the vineyard with him but he is missing his wife.
One-day he is invited to a party and meets Countess De Pantin. She seduces him and then they marry. In front of Christophe, she acts like she loves Camille but she actually treats been like Cinderella.
She sends for her mother from France and let's get live in a small cottage on the property. Camille and her step grandmother adore each other which makes the "Countess" very upset.
Camille was dies while flinging a business trip and the countless makes her move into a shack on the property. She wants to take over the business but Camille is protected by her father's will. I think this is one of her best books.

Enjoyed the new look of the Danielle Steel books. This was a classic storyline with a twist. Would recommend this book to a friend and already bought the hard copy for the bookcase. Wish she would write a sequel about these characters just so relatable. Can't wait for the next best seller
