Let me just start by saying how much I hated the main characters name - Nap?! Really.
Anyway...aside from that SO good. I found the ending a bit scrappy but it's a page turner and I raced towards the end.

I love Harlan Coben books and would happily pick up another.

Although "Don't Let Go" was far from vintage Harlan Coban it was a very enjoyable thriller which had the usual amount of twists, conspiracies and double-twists you would expect from this author. The story revolves around the murder of a policeman at a routine drink and drive stop, of course, with Coban nothing is what it seems and the plot bobs and weaves with some really good curve-balls. The problem is this author has now written so many stories similar to this unless they're really top notch I tire of them. The policeman who narrated much of this novel came across as really smug and if I'm honest got on my nerves somewhat. Overall, what you've come to expect from Coban, but not his best.

Another great read of his, straps you in at the beginning and throws you out at the end, lots happening all the way through the book, finished with a conclusion I didn't see coming, highly recommended.

Nap's brother Leo died years ago alongside his girlfriend Diana, when they were both hit by a train. Now a cop, Nap is out to investigate their deaths, and the deaths of other members of the "Conspiracy Club". A great thriller from Harlan Coben, full of twists and turns. I didn't work it all out until the end - just like with all the best thrillers! A good read.

Likeable protagonist? tick Unlikely conspiracy?tick. Unputdownable? tick. This is a real improvement on recent stand alone novels from Coben. I'm a massive fan of his Myron Bolitar series but I was really disappointed in the last few "other" books. I also loved the little cameo for Myron and Lauren Muse. Who knows we might see more of Nap in books to come?

I have read a few Harlan Coben books before so I was looking forward to reading an upcoming novel from the same author. As a fan of the author, you never really know what is coming towards the end of the book, but I have always finished a book on a positive note.

This novel is told through Nap who had a twin brother Leo, whom has died 15 years ago along with his girlfriend in an apparent suicide. This book follows Nap who learns that his girlfriend, Maura, who disappeared shortly after his twin brothers death, has popped up on the police radar and Nap leaves straight away to go chase any leads to her and find out the truth about his brothers death.

Throughout the book, the main character refers to his dead twin brother a lot, almost like he is telling the story to his brother Leo, it makes it stand out from other books. As we follow Nap along his journey, we see him questioning himself as he learns more about the night of the suicide and he realises there were many things he didn't know about his twin brother.

Overall this is an enjoyable book. There are many characters in this book and you get to know them well along this thriller. If you're a fan of Harlan Coben, you won't be disappointed, if you don't know this author, pick up a copy when the book is released!

Loved the pace of this book. Coben never fails as far as I'm concerned.

Harlan Coben strikes again. Brilliant twist at the end that I would never have predicted. Interesting characters but it was a bit of a slow burner but worth the read. I loved the unique plot.

Anything written by Harlan Coben is bound to be a huge hit, so when offered the chance to review his latest stand-alone novel, Don't Let Go, I jumped at it!

The protagonist of the story is Nap, a police detective who is lost his twin brother, Leo, to a tragic accident when they were both at high school. Leo's girlfriend was also killed, and Maura, Nap's girlfriend, disappeared shortly afterwards, seemingly by choice.
He hasn't heard from her since.

Don't Let Go begins 15 years after the accident and Nap is now a police detective. He still has questions around his brother's accident, and knows that something just doesn't add up. When other members of their old school group start turning up dead, Nap digs deeper and sets off on a mission to find out the truth – what happened to Leo & Diana, and why did Maura disappear?

The term 'rollercoaster of a novel' is vastly overused, but here, it's applicable. Like any good story there are heroes and villains, but can you tell them apart? The characters are engaging and the plot is twisty, but in a good way; there's mystery and theories - you're never quite sure which way it is going to go and some bits were so unexpected they were almost jaw-dropping. In one chapter, the descriptive writing was so good I was literally holding my breath – you'll know it when you get to it. It's a thrilling read, Mr Coben really is an author at the top of his game.

This new Harlan Coben novel is an exciting story that uses his trademark system of revealing details of the backstory little by little.

The main character, Nap, is haunted by the death of his twin and best friend, Leo, at the end of their high school years. Now in his thirties, Nap has still not been able to put to rest the ghosts of that life-changing night. He is thrown back into the mystery of Leo's death when news of their school friend's murder surfaces.

A fast-paced book that is an enjoyable easy read.

Nap comes across as a very competent cop, but always sailing close to the wind. Sometimes he crosses the line, but he can rationalise this with his own attitude and justifications. He is likeable, but very flawed. He recognises he has few true friends, and no family since the death of his father 5 years ago. Whilst he is able to investigate this case, it turns out to be a rediscovery of himself, his misconceived ideas and a chance to move on and lead a new life afresh, finally letting go of the past.

The pace of the book is rapid and engaging. The plot is cleverly convoluted, with secrets uncovered and a big twist towards the denouement, which I didn't see coming. The self discovery is a nice touch, which offers a richer element of emotional development and insight. it appears to be a rare standalone novel for Coben, but should nonetheless please his fans.

I expected to be be gripped by this Harlan Coben novel, as I always am by his books, and I wasn't in the least bit disappointed. It's very much a page-turner, and was responsible for me reading far too late into the night every night until I'd finished the book.

In 'Don't Let Go', the narrator and chief protagonist, Nap Dumas, tells the story in part as straight narration, and in part as a one-sided conversation with his twin brother, Leo, who along with Leo's girlfriend, Diana, had been found dead some time earlier on railway lines near the town in which they lived.

Later, the murder of a policeman who was at school with Nap, draws him into the investigation of the policeman's death, and when he learns that others in the circle of his brother's friends have since died, his suspicions are roused, and he starts to look back in to the events that occurred before, during and after the night of his brother's death.

I'm not going to say more for fear of spoiling the story for readers, and for taking away from them the enjoyment I got out of reading this fast-paced novel, which I highly recommend.

I am very grateful to Netgalley for a free copy in return for an honest review.

Harlen Coben at his gripping best. Full of twists, turns and suspense this book had me hooked from start to finish. Small town cop, Nap, gets a call to say that someone he has flagged as a missing person has turned up so he sets out to investigate not only where she is now and why she disappeared but also the mysterious deaths of his twin brother Leo and Leo's girlfriend years before. A read-in-one-sitting book.

Superb thriller about a police detective (called Nap - short for Napoleon) who is on a mission to find out how his twin brother Leo died, and his girlfriend Maura disappeared 15 years ago, in the light of new events and evidence.

The plot hangs together brilliantly and all loose ends were nicely tied up by the end of the book. It was exhilarating to follow Nap's progress and witness his determination to get to the truth. The slowly-revealed lies and secrets of those around him was both interesting and surprising, and the final twist took me completely by surprise.

Nap's methods of investigation were sometimes on or over the borderline of both legality and morality. This was perhaps my only minor gripe - he seemed to be something of a loose canon with very little oversight by the police department, and left to his own devices most of the time, free to work on a 15 year old case. How realistic is that I wonder?

Minor gripe aside, it's a great read and thoroughly recommended.

Another story from the pen of Harlan Coben that twists and turns its way to an unexpected conclusion – do you know what I love about this authors books? The twists you ACTUALLY won’t see coming because you get so caught up in the lives of the characters he is portraying. Zero gimmicks needed here.

I fell for Nap immediately, which meant all I cared about was what he cared about – his obsession is his dead twin and what actually happened to him. Old sins haunt the present here, a girl who was gone turns up again throwing everything off kilter – from that moment on fates are sealed and truths will out – but on the way you get a barnstormer of a page turner that unless you have somewhere extraordinarily important to be you will read in one breathless sitting. I don’t know another author that can keep the story utterly character driven and still keep those surprises coming I loved every minute of it.

There is a beauty in the plotting that you don’t find in many crime novels, that super x-factor something that makes a book both emotionally resonant and completely gripping. Both of those things are true of “Don’t Let Go” and that makes it a genuinely top notch quality read from first page to last.

Fans of Mr Coben will find the short cameo appearance of a much loved character an absolute joy and even those who miss that little gem will want to bang through this one to find out what happens to Nap, to his classmates, to his community and what happened to Leo all those years ago.

Proper storytelling and some real book love from me.

Highly Recommended.

The master of story telling had me hooked from page one - and didn't let me go until the last heart -racing page. I finished it in a day and loved every minute of its twisting and unexpected turning. It’s a year or so since I last read a Harlan Coben book and this standalone story will ensure I will be catching up on all the books I’ve missed since then. No one does it better.

There are many layers skilfully uncovered during this mystery which kept me guessing until the very end. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.

This is an atmospheric novel, in which surviving twin Nap (short for Napoleon) is now a police officer / detective in the area where he grew up. Leo, Nap's twin, is a constant presence in Nap's mind, despite being killed 15 years previously, along with his girlfriend Diana, by a train. The same night, Nap's girlfriend disappeared, leaving Nap alone to grieve for his loss.

Nap doesn't believe that the death of the couple is an accident and despite being "discouraged" from investigating the original incident when more of the classmates from the same group of friends are killed, he is nearly killed himself by a former security agent who has retired to tickle the ivories.

My favourite scene is after Nap has very loudly shared his view of the "cover-up" so the rest of the office staff can hear. This prompts an aggressive FBI agent to attempt to throttle him, although he ends up on the floor. The FBI agents partner tells Nap's boss "Your man just spouted out classified information, which is illegal, especially when it's a lie" to which his boss retorts: "How can it be classified if it's a lie?"
