I loved reading this book! I'm excited to read more by this author, as this was the first book I read by her! Christina Leigh Pritchard does such a great job creating characters in this story!

I'm sad to say that I have a few books from Netgalley that I DNF on... either it didn't hook me into the story and I lost least or I found out that there is more to the series and can't get the first and so on book from that series... Yup here it goes, Don't believe me wash the dishes! Look at the website: http://fkrants.blogspot.com/2017/09/ng-dnf-sept-edition.html

So when I started this book I wasn't expecting it to be my favorite, I was expecting to read a fun book that would take me a day or two to read and mostly just make me laugh and have a good time.  That's not what happened.

CIN starts out introducing the main character Ally and setting up the story for her to move cities. Ally is a decent character, a bit flat but I never had any issues with her. My problem was the love interest Alex.  His character takes the "I'm a jerk because I like you" to the extreme, to an unhealthy place. And he's never seen as the bad guy. Throughout the book he's abusive, he gaslights Ally,  and he even physically harms her to keep her stuck in the town with him. The list goes on.  I was disturbed by how evil he was, and how this was somehow seen as okay because he was in love with Ally.  I think his character was supposed to change by the end of the story, but I never saw change enough to make me think good of him.

I don't have much to else to say about the book. The writing honestly wasn't that great, plot twists were very obvious, and I found a few typos in the text.  Overall reading CIN was not an enjoyable experience.  I wouldn't recommend this book, especially if you've experienced abusive relationships.

I gave this book 1 star on Goodreads.

This had such great potential but by the time I finished this I was left sorely disappointed. The characters weren't fully developed and the story wasn't in the least bit believable. While it wasn't bad, it wasn't good. I didn't feel that the story was fully complete by the end. 2.25 stars

I was drawn into this story right from the first chapter. Lisa's mum and dad have just gotten divorced, her house has been foreclosed, and her mum is checking herself into a mental hospital. So Lisa is being shipped off to live with her Aunt in Lynn, Massachusetts.

I was engaged with the story.... right up until she arrived in Lynn. This is where the character development stops. Unfortunately, it felt like the characters were very two dimensional. They also seemed to do everything in extremes. One minute they are angry, the next they are friendly. They are immature and then mature. Honestly I can't say I liked much of anything about any of the characters.
The pacing felt off, and there was a lack of flow with the story.
The story was confusing, and then when things are explained, it just seems like a plot device to keep things interesting.
Unfortunately this book was not for me.

This story was compelling, exciting, thrilling, and beautiful! I absoultely LOVE this first book of a series I am going to die getting my hands on eventually. It was so well written, I felt as if I was right there in the book. The characters had incredible stories, feeling so real.

Christina Leigh Pritchard's writing is INCREDIBLE! I can barely handle it. It was amazing. Thank you netgalley for the arc for an honest review!

I thought the idea of this story was absolutely amazing and unique. I could see the characters being very complex and mysterious, and the story had its moments of very surreal suspense.

Lisa gets sent to live with her Aunt Mil at a prestigious boarding school and meets a lot of interesting... odd people. That's all I'll say for spoiler sake, but I will say the following: what she goes through is certainly interesting in itself. Personally, I couldn't get into it. The writing execution was confusing, as some things weren't explained properly, and the transitions felt messy. I didn't like Lisa because she seemed so confusing to me, happy one second, annoyed the next. It was hard to discern where she was at the moment with things. I didn't like her attitude towards things she didn't know, but I tried to explain it as her being young (though she was a high school senior...). If I was supposed to understand something, it wasn't conveyed, and as a reader, it's details like that, that I rely on. The characters she interacted with also weren't conveyed as well as I'd have liked, because I had to talk myself out of the story to think about them before deciding I liked them a lot, which then made it hard to read the book because through Lisa's POV, she thinks they're evil or other. Just... a lot of things that I personally couldn't get behind, and it only seemed to get worse for me. Some others may enjoy this book, as the idea is really something else. Execution just... not for me.
