The comic was nice and an easy read. The story and art were simple but still enjoyable. I would have like a little more surprises as the plot was quite predictable.

I would recommend this comic for teens.

A fun enough romp with a headstrong heroine, with more bravery than brains. She has heart, though, and is romantic to her core.
After Scarlet experiences a traumatic run-in with an evil villain, scrappy Scarlet dreams of meeting the Fox, a highwayman who steals from the rich and helps the poor. She is way too crazy about him, and takes some risks to help him without even knowing him!

This was a fun start to a story but maybe a bit too soap opera-y for me. I liked the main character and I liked that she stood up for what she believed in didn't let people push her around, but also her weird devotion to The Fox could get really creepy really fast now that he's an actual person in her life. I'll have to wait and see how that all plays out I guess. Also while the art is good, the anime/manga style is just really jarring to me when it's used in something that isn't manga so that might be something to consider if you're thinking of trying this.

Thank you Papercutz for the copy via NetGalley.

This Graphic Novel is fun, easy to read, and has a good sense of humor.

It starts with the murder of Maud's father, a past revealed to her and thus she travels to live in Paris. Her huge crush on a bandit calling himself "The Fox" has lead her to a conclusion of becoming a bandit herself - Scarlet Rose.

Guilhem is quite cute but I can't really tell of his age based on the drawings. Their facial expressions are right and I love how they change to impossible human faces to exaggerate an emotion.

I believe the english translations have just begun and I can't wait to read the next installment. This is my first Graphic Novel series so I'm not very familiar with the slang. Is it called an 'installment', an 'issue' perhaps?

Personally, this was a bit too cute for me and some of the plot (like Maud’s fencing lessons) didn’t quite for me. However, if you have a young daughter, you might want to give her a copy of this comic.
Scarlet Rose details the story of Maud and her obsession with the Fox (aka the French Zorro). She becomes an outlaw to right wrongs.
The tone is a bit too much soap opera, though Maud is a character of strength. Her desire to do right and her skill with the blade are established early on, and unlike the later fencing lessons, her knowledge about swordplay does make sense. The style is very like anime, and well done.
It is an interesting female take on Robin Hood or the Three Musketeers.

"Scarlet Rose" is an okay graphic novel about a young girl becoming a masked vigilante à la Robin Hood. The graphics are okay but nothing special and at least in the first chapter there is no real resolution or climax to the story.
