Record of Wrongs is a good fit for those seeking a heart-wrenching, emotional journey of self-discovery and redemption, with a focus on the complexities of human relationships and the power of love to heal even the deepest wounds.

Romance, redemption, and second chances. This book was sweet and steamy, and worth the read for anyone who enjoys characters that have flaws but still inherently good and deserving of their happily ever after.

Record of Wrongs is another fantastic read by Sharon Kay. I honestly can't say enough about the stories this author creates.

Do yourself a favor & read Record of Wrongs (part of Redemption County series) It is a wonderful story of finding love & how the right person can change your world. It can be read as a stand alone.

Record of wrongs was a amazing book that I have read , it had everything I want to read about

3.5 stars, but bumping it up, because Cruz!!!!

I don't think there's anything I enjoy more than a bad boy with a heart of gold! Cruz is a former wannabe gang member, who is wrongly accused of murder and spends 10 years before the witness tying him to the murder recants. Fresh out of jail, he throws a dart and lands in Redemption County, where he meets his sweet little Country Barbie, named Rosie!! Rosie too has her own little secret from the past. What was refreshing about this story is both the H and h talked to each other, openly, there weren't assumptions or misunderstandings, so this was pretty low angst. Yes, they thought they weren't good enough for the other because of their past, but it was really a sweet, enjoyable story with some steamy sexy and a little drama thrown in.

I read book 2 before book 1 but it didn't dampen my enthusiasm by reading out of order!

Cruz Zaffino is finally a free man. He was sent to jail when a gang initiation went wrong and he was the one blamed for the murder. Cruz family finally found a lawyer willing to go for bat to him and he decides he needs a fresh start. His way of picking his new town is fairly random!

He finds his way to Redemption County and has a job working on a construction crew. Knocking back a beverage at a local bar one night and he meets the lovely Rosie. Sister of a local war hero and now Sheriff, she has her own secrets and is still quietly suffering from the car accident she was in.

But when Cruz comes to her rescue when a couple of preppy students decide to force themselves on Rosie, he finds himself wondering why he never noticed Rosie until now. Their tentative romance is knocked by the scuttlebutt and gossip that the locals fire their way when they find out about Cruz's past.

Brilliantly paced book. Cruz is clearly not a "good" boy but he is clearly not the monster he has been depicted as in the media. He has a new lease on life and can't believe that Rosie not only feels safe with him but seeks him out. Rosie really doesn't care about Cruz's past..she cares about the man he is now and how he takes care of her.

A sweet and sexy romance with both main characters with baggage and issues.
The “devastatingly hot and dangerous” hero, handsome and damaged, has the traits of an alpha, yet also shows an “unexpected tenderness with the heroine”.
The heroine’s sunny attitude also hides a past pain; she’s ready to be healed by the “dark knight” who wants to get a fresh start and seeks redemption in her small town.
There’s a bunch of lovely secondary characters, too (including Denver, Shane’s dog).

Record of Wrongs is a promising start to the Redemption County series. I enjoyed the interaction between Rosie and Cruz and look forward to reading book 2. I will recommend this to readers

Wrongfully convicted felon is released from jail after serving 10 years of his sentence. Wants to start over so he throws a dart at a map and ends up in Small Town, Illinois where he wanders into our heroines bar one day... And the story goes from there.

The type of book where I really want to shake the author, hand her a thesaurus, and tell her to find another way to describe a body part other than "sexy." These characters were sexy- yes, but find ways to show that to me rather than repeatedly telling me how sexy different parts of their body were. In my opinion, this book needed a better guiding hand before it was published. Our hero spent 10 years in jail, had a successful, competent lawyer fighting on his behalf. a devoted mother and sister, and supposedly a rich backstory. Which we got barely any information on. In fact, his experience in jail was rarely even mentioned except as a "Hey, this happened to me. Now let's talk about your town some more..."

Not the greatest read but there was humor, sexiness, banter- all the things I love in my romance novels. I'll give this author another couple tries before cementing my opinion.

I liked both characters, Cruz and Rosie. Cruz was pretty cool until he was championing Rose in various unpleasant scenes and then he was high tension.
I really liked how they both had pasts that they were trying to either forget or start fresh. They came together by teaching each other and us as readers something. Pretty cool.

It was cute...predictable and slow, but cute.

Rosie's back story with the accident was very predictable; there was obviously more than what she originally told everyone about the accident and when the truth finally comes out it's really no big surprise.

The fact that Cruz's past caught up to him again was very predictable. You knew from the beginning that it was only a matter of time before the "gang" part of his past came knocking on his door. Especially given that he didn't go very far from his home.

Although it was slow at times, I enjoyed reading the development of the relationship between Rosie and Cruz.

Rosie is a sweet, small town country woman working at a bar when in walks the gorgeous, inked-up man who will change her life. Cruz spent a decade in prison for a crime he didn't commit. Now he's out and looking to start over in a small town where he can blend in, and just be. He throws a dart, it lands on Sundown, IL, so that's where he ends up. From the very first meeting, Cruz and Rosie get to each other, get under each other's skin. They strike up a friendship that evolves into more, and when it does, whew! Hot is a tame way to describe it. But what really made me fall in love with them as a couple is just how sweet and non judgmental they are with each other, how they just get each other, how they can just be themselves with each other.

You know those men that are dangerous and scorching hot, but that's not what's important about them? Because what's important is that they're one of the good ones? That their heart and soul are beautiful? That's the kind of man Cruz is and that's the only kind of man that could possibly be good enough for the beautiful-hearted Rosie, who has her own past, just as Cruz does, but those pasts aren't what define them. That's what's so great about Cruz and Rosie, both individually and as a couple.

Record of Wrongs is the kind of story that stays with you. Cruz and Rosie are beautiful together and I loved reading every minute of their journey.

This was a book that totally surprised me. I’ve read “hero just got out of prison” romances before, and honestly, there’s very few that I enjoyed. They're usually just too angsty for me. (I’m old and grumpy, folks. Angsty just doesn’t work for grumpy old-timers like me.) But this book was surprisingly low angst, and I really enjoyed it!

What I loved most about Cruz’s relationship with Rosie was that it was so honest. They didn’t keep their painful pasts from each other. They talked about it and got it all out in the open just like people would in real life. ​

It was refreshing, because I can’t even tell you how many books I’ve read where either the hero or heroine (or both) spends chapter after chapter wallowing in oh-I-can-never-tell-anyone-my-secrets-because-they’ll-hate-me-forever land. Cruz and Rosie were mature and REAL and I adored them for that.

I kind of liked that Rosie had some secrets in her past, too. She would’ve been too perfect without them. The fact that she’d made some mistakes and had to overcome the consequences of those mistakes just made her even more likeable as a character, in my opinion.

Cruz was a great hero, too. He had the whole alpha, dirty-talking, bad boy thing going for sure, but he was never once an alphahole to Rosie, her friends, or her family. I LOVE an alpha male who still manages to maintain some gentlemanly manners.

(Aside to the author: I’d 1-click the CRAP out of Shane’s story, should you choose to write it. And I would hope that Denver the dog plays a BIG part in it. Hint, hint, hint.)

And this was one of the few small town romances I’ve read where the townspeople didn’t irk the bejesus out of me. Sure, there were a couple of small-minded busybodies, but mostly, everyone was tolerant, understanding, and...real. The characters weren’t caricatures or cartoonish in any way, in other words.

Heat warning: the sexy times are SUPER sexy. If you’re looking for vanilla, fade-to-black sex scenes, you won’t find them here. This one’s steamy with a side of someone-get-me-a-glass-of-ice-water.

If I was to complain (which, let’s face it, I almost always do), I’d mention that I would’ve liked to learn more about Cruz’s family and his past. But that was a super minor nitpick that in no way hurt my enjoyment of the story.

Long-story-short: this one’s worth a 1-click, folks. Give it a shot! You won’t be disappointed.

This is a good book. One I enjoyed reading. It's book one in a new series under this author.

After spending a decade in prison for a crime he didn't commit, Cruz has moved to Sundown to start fresh. That includes meeting a bartender at the local sports bar and grille, Rosie.

When their first night becomes unforgettable they decide to spend some more time together. She knows everyone and everything about the town and he knows almost no one and nothing about Sundown.

They are both keeping things about themselves from each other but it doesn't take long for those things to come out.

Will they decide it's too much to overcome or not?

I gave it three stars because it got a bit obvious about sixty percent through about her secret and repetitive about which one deserved the other less.

Snore fest!

I liked the premise of the story. It kept me reading at first, then it bogged down like no tomorrow. I got to the point where I was like "Is it ever going to get interesting?"

It took up to 70% till they actually got together and then it was like every other page. The action happened the last 10%.

The writing was good, but the story was just boring.

Loved this book! It was just what I needed to read last night and I would not have changed anything about it! I am eager to read more in the series and also find out how Cruz and Rosie are doing when her brother, Shane, has his story told next!

Cruz Zaffino is an innocent man who went to prison for ten years before the “witness” recanted. With the desire to move forward and create a new life for himself – a positive one – he ends up in Sundown, Illinois where he meets Rosie Marlowe early in the story. They are both open to a relationship although neither really expected one and what a relationship it turns into with heat from the first but a slow growing one that is allowed to simmer for a bit then when finally acted on – oh my – HOT!

I loved the ease with which the two did mundane fun things together in small-town Sundown. Their interactions were priceless and filled with caring and sharing as they opened up willingly to one another. I can really see them together with Cruz so alpha and strong and yet so very tender and Rosie so warm and caring with a bit of sizzle on the side.

The supporting characters in the book were a delight and I look forward to hearing more about them in future books of the series. I really can’t wait to read the next book and hope there will be quite a few more books in the series from this author because this one felt so very good while reading it.
