Thanks Netgalley and the Publisher. How I wished I had read the first book so I could have understood the characters better. That being I still enjoyed the book

One Bark and Stormy Prom Night is the first book that I have read by Stella St. Claire, and although I feel a little late to the party, I enjoyed it immensely. Professional dog walker and doggy daycare owner Olivia finds herself not only suddenly single, but embroiled in a mystery surrounding the death of a friend.I would recommend reading the series in order as there are many references to the previous books, however, this cozy mystery can be read as a standalone. The characters are very realistic and identifiable, and the mystery is layered and has enough twists and turns to keep the reader interested.

This series has quickly become one of my favorites.

Nice, easy reads with realistic characters, interesting plots and just enough romance. The mystery of Olivia and Andrew's relationship is almost as good as solving the murder. I'm already looking forward to the next one!

The end of the second book had Olivia and Andrew breaking up and that kind of upset me. I was ready for some hopefulness in this book that they might mend fences especially since it's now prom time in Lexingburg. Prom time is a huge deal, even the adults get involved and get all dressed up for the evening. Olivia of course is trying to deal with her break up so she throws herself into helping with prom and as usual, a murder mystery just happens to come along when one of her friends is killed in her warehouse. Suspects are everywhere!

I felt like this book had Olivia growing a little bit, she didn't seem as much of a procrastinator as before. She's happily settled in the brownstone with her dog sitting business and office for her dog walking. She, her sister and her friend Jackie decide that they can save some money so they set about (in between talk of the murder) renovating and dry walling what will become two apartments upstairs for Olivia and Janelle to rent out.

Andrew misses Olivia as much as she misses him so he uncharacteristically helps her in the investigation. I liked that they were still friends and taking it a little slower this time around. I was happy with how it ended up.

As for the murder, I definitely didn't guess the killer until the reveal. I had my suspicions about who ended up being the killer but for other reasons than what was the actual reason. The book had some great twists and I do like how the author helped her characters to grow but left a little something to look forward to in her next installment. Their solution was one I hadn't thought of but it's a win-win.

This is the 3rd book in the Happy Tails Dog Walking series & I think the books are getting more entertaining as they go.

Olivia is trying to pick up the pieces of her life since she & her boyfriend/fianée are "taking a break". So why not fill her time investigating another murder?

I love the dog walking segments in the book- the author does a great job in explaining the pups' antics.

I hope there will be more books in this series.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

It is so sad when two people who were meant to be relationship has ended and the love that had forged them together was still going strong, what we end up with is two miserable folks who cannot stop thinking about each other. So here we are again with Olivia and Andrew their uncertainty about each other causing Andrew to take a major step in giving each other space but was right to just walk away. With a lot of sleepless nights and the need for a second chance to make things right, Olivia could only hope it’s what Andrew wants as well, but what do you know there is a kink in the line and that is the murder of her friend. Solving the mystery behind the murder of her friend is a priority but so is getting back her man, and he definitely does not like it when she puts her life at risk, what should she do, except be her true self and that is someone who loves solving the puzzle behind these murders, so a little compromising is needed by these two but who that is the question. The storyline continued from book 2 with its awesome characters and I have to say the guy got his woman and she got her man, great book I like the coziness of these books they are very engaging.

Olivia is still trying to work through her breakup with Andrew.
When a friend disappears, Olivia is quick to begin investigating, especially when her friend turns up dead.
Even though she is trying to work through her pain, Olivia won't back down until she has the answers she's looking for.
The suspect list grows longer as she learns some deep secrets.

I voluntarily read an ARC of this book provided by the publisher and NetGalley.

I have read the first two books in the Happy Tail Dog Walking Mysteries Series, by Stella St. Claire, and this third book did not disappoint. This book was very relatable to me in so many different ways. From a close relationship break up to a love of dogs, to the worry of prom, this book starts off exciting and just gets better. Intrigue and mystery follows - a murder of a close friend leads to a journey of upset; mystery; secrets and redemption. I enjoyed this book until the very end (a book you can't put down).
