Thoughtful and well laid out introduction to the subject, easy to understand for those with limited knowledge or context to draw from. I particularly like the attention given to the importance of drawing distinction between the teachings of Buddha and the cultural traditions which have attached themselves to Buddhism

I have practiced Buddhism for the past 5 years. It was a very refreshing read about Shin Buddhism. If you are looking for a school of Buddhism that is based off of the original teachings of Buddha without all the fluff and rituals this book is for you.

I liked this book a lot, even if I had no idea there was a Shin Buddhism in the world. The author explain with the right number of words the main topic and gives us in the end a brief discussion to clarify the most important points related to the subject. I had a sort of enilightment reading this book, even because the last chapter is dedicated to a comparison between Shin and Zen Buddhism and I have to say the the first approach is better for me.

THANKS TO NETGALLEY FOR THE PREVIEW!
