I absolutely adore Mitford and the people who make up this community. The writing feels like you are just living the life with Father Tim, Cynthia, Dooley, Lace, and the rest of the characters who all add so much to the story. Through this entire series, I have become invested in the community. When you lose a character that has been a part of the series, even if the character is not a major player, you feel the loss. Seeing the next generation of people grow and mature has honestly been one of the best parts of these last three books. I hope that she writes more about Dooley and Lace's story and everyone else because I am not ready to say good-bye to Mitford.

I was given an advanced copy of this book by the publisher and Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Jan Karon's Mitford series is always a treat for me. I feel uplifted after reading her books, filled with grace and appreciative of simpler times, as well as gracious loving people who care and help each other. To Be Where You Are is my favorite Mitford novel to date. Set in Mitford and Meadowgate Farm we once again spend time with characters we've known so long, they've become friends. And I love visiting with Lace, Dooley and the goings on at Meadowgate, which brings a freshness to her series. I highly recommend Karons latest in this series and hope she never stops writing them.

I used to be a huge Jan Karon fan and read all of the earlier books, but this was so disappointing. It felt like a retread of all of the previous books. I couldn't finish it.

Reading a book written by Jan Karon is one of the few things left in this world that renews my faith in humanity. She's the only author who can write a book that will keep a smile on my face for the duration of the day's reading. To Be Where You Are is a treasure of a novel. Father Tim and Cynthia, their family and friends, were a welcome respite for me and I fell in love with life in Mitford all over again. and I am thankful.
