365 Classic Bedtime Bible stories reflect all of the book Genesis. From the Garden to Joseph, you and your child will become familiar with these important foundation stories of the bible. Stories that should lead you to the savior Jesus Christ, but disappointingly they did not.
There were some insights that I appreciated but I felt they did not go in depth of the significance of God's plan of redemption. For example Joseph was 30 years old when he came into power, the same age of Jesus when he started his ministry. It is these type of insights that can lead young readers to know Jesus and God's great love. I felt that this missed the mark of opportunity.
If you just want bible stories, this will be ok but if you want something that your children can get their heart wrapped around, I am sorry to say that this does not.
A Special Thank you to Barbour Publishing and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

I loved this book. The illustrations were very colorful and engaging. I loved that the stories included were not just the usual Bible Stories included these sort of books (think Noah), but others that are not usually included. This book would make a lovely gift.

I liked the illustrations in "365 Classic Bedtime Bible Stories.” If kids want to read more than one at a time, or read on their own, this will work better for older children.

I love reading to children from the day they're born. Reading and looking at pictures in books are wonderful learning tools for the stories of the Bible. While young children, ages 8-12 perhaps, will be able to read this book, I think that is too complex for younger children, ages 3-7. The wording and length of the stories could be changed to meet the needs of younger children.
Some of the stories were quite explicit for younger children. I don't even let my grandchildren watch shows with murder. It is frightening to young children. For younger children, these parts could be left out. I think young readers in 2nd grade and up would enjoy reading these stories on their own or with an adult as they can discuss the stories also.
I like having the scripture references for each story. The illustrations are lovely and help to create a visual image for the child.
I am giving this book a 4 **** star rating.

365 Classic Bedtime Bible Stories is a cute children's book. It is beautiful-the pages are beautifully Illustrated. Now I do have a problem with the book-The author said that there were only two kinds of trees in Eden-but there were many kinds of trees in Eden. I would not want my children learning incorrect Biblical information-would you? Other than that the stories are great for the kids.

Let’s talk for a minute. I was sorta excited when I was notified that Barbour Publishing reached out to me via NetGalley to review this book. At the time I didn’t even give a moments thought to reading an illustrated children’s book via my Kindle app. Until… Goobie broke the tablet. Without a tablet that left me with two reading options. My phone, which while convenient is small and my computer which is very inconvenient but has a large screen. Obviously, the quantity of reading I do the phone was the only option. Truth be told, I spend more time swiping pages than reading since I’m like old and blind, but it works. Until children’s books with illustrations come along. The Minions of Mischief aren’t allowed to play on my phone so reading with them on it was a challenge. I couldn’t hand them the book with a ‘have at it’ so to speak.
Let’s talk illustrations first. With the phone issue and some constant issues with NetGalley formatting the pictures came out chopped up and awkward. Off to Amazon we went to actually see some of the pictures from the book. The ones I were able to view were whimsical yet realistic. Perfect for a young child to an older middle grade child as well. In the words of MooMoo they weren’t ‘babyish’. Based on the pictures that I viewed I liked that they dominated the page. For an emerging reader the smaller print may be overwhelmed by the pictures and a distraction but I still liked it that way.
Let’s talk story. Now I should make you very aware that the copy of this book I received from NetGalley is not the full book but a sample, so I can only speak to the handful of stories I had access to for this review. I liked that the stories seem to progress through the Bible chronologically. I like that they take the Biblical truth for each story and provide the reference book and verses so that they can be gone back to in a parent’s preferred version. They are concise for younger children but share the clear message of the Bible passage for older readers.
Let’s talk title. I feel like this is not so much a bedtime book as more a children’s companion Bible so to speak. There are many (many!) Children’s Bibles out there. There aren’t a lot for the emergent reader into middle grade reader however. This feels more like something on that vein than a bedtime storybook. I felt like this book has the potential to serve as a Children’s Bible for an audience that is lacking true Biblical exposure. Many of the Children’s Bibles the older two Minions feel are too young for them.
I was provided a complimentary copy of this book by NetGalley. I was not compensated for this review and all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own. I was not required to write a positive review.

This is a collection of 365 short stories from a storybook Bible, and it is a great resource for young readers. The text is Biblically accurate, a fact that is often overlooked by books of this type. The illustrations are somewhat cartoonish, but they are appropriate for young children. My daughters are 8 and 5 and they both enjoyed the stories and illustrations. This book would be a great birthday or Christmas present, or a gift for baptism, for children or grandchildren to engage them in the Bible at a young age.
I received this as a free ARC from Shiloh Kidz, Barbour Publishing, Inc. on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I have been privileged to be chosen to read and review “365 Classic Bedtime Bible Stories”, inspired by Jesse Lyman Huribut’s Story of the Bible, and illustrated by Allessia Girasole. Since I have a five-year-old granddaughter, I jumped at the chance to read this book.
I found this to be a wonderfully and insightfully written book for children. I feel that it introduces the young person to the bible and its stories. Keeping the stories short and to the point is especially good for children, and a good end of day reading for them. The illustrations are very colorful and seem to be pointed toward the type of pictures that would interest children.
I will be giving this book to my granddaughter to enjoy for the next 365 days.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Barbour Publishing and was under no obligation to post a review.

This was a beautiful book that I read to my 3 year old son and he loved it. Though my son is only 3, he is very fascinated with the Bible and it's many stories. Being a Christian myself I enjoyed having mornings and nights where I could just read this book to him and hear him repeat after me. Awesome stories and totally recommend.

This is a solid introduction for children three and older to the stories and the story flow of the Bible. For those who are unfamiliar with the Bible, this collection would be a good introduction.
For a book billed as “Classic Bible Bedtime Stories,” I’d be concerned reading some of these stories to my three-year-old at bedtime.
For example, I’m not too sure about reading about Cain murdering his brother Abel as a bedtime story. And some parts of Joseph’s epic story may be too much at bedtime. At times the story is just the right length for toddlers. But, most of the time, the stories tend to be a little bit longer than most Bible story books for toddlers. A plus is that the illustrations are so good, it may hold the toddler’s attention when the story may go too long.

I enjoyed getting to review this lovely Bible Story book, based on Hurlbut's Story of the Bible. Each story is short and simple, perfect for reading to a busy toddler. I can see my 2-year-old loving this book! The pictures are also simple and colorful, although I don't like the cartoonish aspects of them very well. They aren't nearly as offensive to me as many I've seen, however. The pages are very attractive, with the story being printed on the picture.
I received a free ecopy of this book from NetGalley and chose to write a review.

Well-written stories that, as far as I could tell (in the sample) stayed close to the regular version. Many children's stories edit out pieces, or oversimplify aspects, and these seemed to be perfectly balanced between clearer, more straightforward language without losing the underlying sense and meaning.
I don't tend to post reviews on samples, because they may not be representative of the whole book, but there were a decent number included and it's unlikely the rest are wildly different.

Loved reading this to my son. He loved it just as much. He now wants me to buy this for him. fantatic read
