A great book by a fantastic author. The writing is excellent and the mystery keeps you turning the pages. Characters are well developed. Highly recommend.

This is one of my favorite cozy series, and this book definitely shows why. I love the unique travel theme and the many humorous elements. This is definitely a series to stick with!

Sadly, this was a DNF for me. I think the series was so far in I couldn't get into it. And some of the characters just seemed a bit over the top for my liking.

This is the first Maddy Hunter book I have read. I am looking forward to going back and reading #1 in the series to find out how the intrepid heroes first met.
A lot of fun and an easy read with excellent character development and an unpredictable mystery to solve.

Social media influencers (bloggers) and seniors make up this latest (11th!) tour group in this fun series. It's got adventure, laughter, murder and a fast paced plot.

"Tour escort Emily Andrew-Miceli’s plan to boost her business with social media threatens to backfire in merry old England.

Hoping to reach an expanded clientele of senior travelers, Emily Andrew-Miceli invites a handful of bloggers to join her group’s tour of England’s Cornwall region. But when the quarrelsome host of a historic inn dies under suspicious circumstances, Emily worries that the bloggers’ online reviews will torpedo her travel agency.

To make matters worse, Emily is roped into running the inn, and not even a team effort from her friends can prevent impending disaster. As one guest goes missing and another turns up dead, Emily discovers that well-kept secrets can provide more than enough motive for murder."

This is the 11th book in a series although it was reasonably easy to follow the story and the characters. The story was quite good and I enjoyed the Cornish setting, but about halfway through I got a bit tired of the Iowans - they all started to appear as caricatures of themselves, rambling on about random things. It was slightly unbelievable at times, as well, particularly that not one single person expressed real concern about one of their party who went missing, regardless of whether they liked her much or not. The police were apparently looking for her, but not very hard.

The ending felt rushed and unsatisfactory - the action just...stopped. And the mystery was far too conveniently tied up and finished with. I'm not sure I would read another one, but I did like the tour guide, Emily, and would be interested in how it all got started. It's hard to say, not having read any of the others, but as this is the only book I have to go on, I'm not sure if I'd continue with this series.

Despite all that, I did finish it quickly and can definitely see the appeal.

This is book number 11 in the Passport To Peril Mystery Series by Maddy Hunter. I enjoy the entire series and I do highly recommend each book in the series. This book can be read as a stand alone.

Thank you to the publisher for the ARC which does not influence my review.

I love this series for the author's outstanding sense of humor. Each book in the series makes me laugh out loud.
The author has a well crafted series based on wonderful characters, a beautiful setting and many hilarious events in the midst of solving a mystery or two. I loved how the author described Cornwall in this book to make the reader feel as if they experienced it.
The supporting characters are a enjoyable lot, very funny each adding to the story. Our intrepid tour guide Emily is at it again with a strange group of customers causing her headaches at every turn. When you read these books your left with a happy feeling of having had a armchair adventure and many laughs along the way.
I look forward to the next in series.

Say No Moor by Maddy Hunter is the 11th book in the Passport to Peril series, and my first book by this author. I'm sure I would have gotten more out of this book if I read the previous ten books, but I really enjoyed reading about these crazy quirky characters. Emily takes a group of senior citizens to tour Jane Austen's England, but when a murder happens she must find the truth. I found this book to be a fun quick read, but I have to admit some of the whiny group got on my nerves. I look forward to going back and starting this series from the beginning. I recommend this book for cozy mystery lovers.

I was given a copy of this book for a fair and honest review.

I’ve been a fan of Maddy Hunter’s books for over a decade now. The Passport to Peril series is a top favourite of mine, and I recommend it to people whenever I can. Whenever I pick up one of Hunter’s books, I know I’m in for a hilarious adventure - or, rather, misadventure - and Say No Moor was no different.

As always, I loved being reunited with Emily and the gang, and I particularly enjoyed the Cornish setting. Hunter has a way with words like no other author I’ve ever come across. I was laughing from the very first page and continued to giggle my way through the story. I think what I love most about this series is something many other long-running series have failed at: keeping things fresh. You have a familiar cast and there are familiar jokes and habits, and yet it feels original. There’s never a dull moment with this group of oddball seniors. They know each other’s quirks, limits, and failings and accept them, albeit sometimes with good-natured ribbing. The addition of new characters on each trip always adds to the story (as a blogger myself, I liked that the new side characters this time were bloggers), and of course the fact dead bodies and general mayhem seem to turn up wherever Emily goes certainly keeps things interesting!

I’ve come to love these wonderfully eccentric characters so much, I always hate to say goodbye to them. It helps knowing we have less than a year to wait for the next Passport to Peril installment, Catch Me if Yukon! These books don’t need to be read in order, but if you’re looking for a well written, engaging cozy mystery series that will keep you guessing (eleven books in and I’ve never successfully guessed the killer) and have you laughing out loud, I highly recommend starting at the beginning and reading the whole series.

For some reason when I requested this I thought it was the first in the series so I was surprised later to see that it was actually the eleventh. Normally this isn't that big of a deal in a mystery series but with the large number of regular characters and the addition of the bloggers and Cornwall residents it got a little confusing. I think it would have been a little easier to keep track of all the Iowans if I had gotten to know them in the earlier books.

However, this wasn't my real issue with the book. The main problem is that with the exception of Emily I disliked all the other characters - especially the bloggers. If we were going with the Agatha Christie method of the most unpleasant person meeting their untimely end the entire Inn would have fallen off the cliff. I had a hard time believing that not only would the remaining Innkeeper have thrust the running of the Inn into Emily's hands but that she would have accepted it. It got a little eye roll-y at times.

With all my complaints how did I enjoy the book? Partly because Hunter's writing style and pacing drew me in right from the beginning and kept me reading even as I was trying to figure out which character I disliked the most. I wanted to pick this book back up and I wanted to find out just who the killer was and what was going on in Cornwall.

While this wasn't my favorite read I did find it page turning and I love Hunter's writing as well as the concept of a cozy mystery series set around a tour company and being set all over the world. From the reviews I gather this was a weaker book and despite the flaws I'm looking forward to reading more from the series and starting with (the actual) first book.

3.5 stars
Emily Miceli is working to expand her tour and travel business and invites a group of bloggers, at a discount, on her latest tour to Europe that starts out at a bed & breakfast in Cornwell England. Upon their arrival at the B&B, it quickly becomes apparent that the proprietors are new to the business of owning and operating. Actually, the tour is the first set of guests at their newly opened enterprise!
Shortly after arriving, the temperamental chef is found dead in the basement. Emily, with the encouragement of her grandmother who is one of the tour members, decides she needs to investigate the murder to ensure that her tour group is safe. As well as to ensure the tour can move on… the group is effectively being detained by the local constabulary until the murder is resolved.
This is the first in the Passport to Peril series that I have read. The senior citizens from Iowa are entertaining most of the time. Definitely a fun, light series with quirky, over the top, characters. The mystery ending was a surprise as well but the story definitely was more about the characters and their antics.
Thank you NetGalley and publisher, Midnight Ink, for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Cornwall sounds amazing and the sights that the tour visits made me want to spend time in Cornwall. The plot is around the murder of the chef and half owner of the Inn, a gruff and bullish man. The plot has subplots of a thief steeling items from the tour group, the group having to scramble and do their own cooking in hopes of keeping the bloggers satisfied, and one of the regulars goes missing. The subplots help to keep the pacing humming along. The climax is pretty suspenseful and surprising. The wrap up ties up loose ends and left me satisfied.

This series accentuates the zany seniors who are recurring characters. They are over-the-top with quarrelsome banter between them, opinionated, and often down right hilarious. A few places I laughed till I had tears. I found more twists in this story than the prior I had read, kudos. It takes a little for the story to build until the first murder, but it was worth it.

Rating: Excellent - Loved it! Buy it now and put this author on your watch list

It took me a few pages to get into the latest Passport to Peril mystery because the book opens with an explanation of what bloggers are and why a group of them is participating in Emily's latest tour. Once that bit is out of the way, the book picks up speed and is the usual entertaining, disastrous adventure. Emily and her usual group of clients are always fun to read about. Shortly after the group checks into the Stand and Deliver Inn, one of the owners dies and the other is arrested for his murder, which leaves Emily and her friends struggling to keep the inn going and solve the murder...and keep the bloggers happy so that their online reviews don't destroy Emily's business.

The beloved Iowan seniors are at it again--this time we are in Cornwall England and you just know that hilarity and mayhem will entangle this crew. A murder or two occurs, did you really think it wouldn’t? Someone goes missing. And there is a thief among them. This is where Emily becomes involved and the road to solving these crimes is where the fun begins, especially when the seniors are on a new mission to achieve glory. I love these stories and the author continue to entertain me with the mischievous shenanigans that seems to find Emily and her friends. The author’s adept at telling a story with colorful narrative kept me involved in all aspects of this finely tuned mystery and I laughed at the antics they find themselves in and of course find a way to get out as only they can. I enjoyed this book and I wonder if they could travel to New York City. Imagine this crew there. Merriment will definitely ensue. Another great read and I look forward to more adventures with Emily and the Iowan seniors.

I love this mystery series by Maddy Hunter so much!! Each and every book is a different place to explore, an addition of new characters that join the ones we love, and unique stories. I wish I could tell you all the reasons I love and recommend this series, but it would be impossible. I just know that every time this author releases a book, I know I am going to get a great escape with a great story!

PS if you love audiobooks this series is extremely well done!

Hail! Hail! The gang's all here! Let the fun begin! Emily has her hands full, again with her usual oddball bunch of senior Iowans plus six bloggers (added because Emily wants to increase her advertising base) and, last but never least, her ex-husband Jack, now Jackie. Their latest tour has brought them to Cornwall...in the middle of a bit of a storm, both outside and inside. Before Emily can blink the first corpse makes its appearance and, without the help from her ex-policeman husband - who is in Rome with the Pope - she is on her own. Not like this is Emily's first rodeo. She finds a corpse or two (at least) on every tour and her Nana and the Gang of Seniors are always willing and able (sort of) to help her find the killer. Can Emily find the killer while trying to keep the Inn from going under? Can Nana keep everyone happily fed in her new role as Chef? And will she and her husband still have a business to run after those bloggers finish posting?
Be warned, this is the 11th in this comical mystery series and, while they do not need to be read in order, not one of them should be given a miss. If this is to be your first meeting with Emily and The Gang, enjoy your time together and, when you are finished with Say No Moor, run, do not walk, to acquire the remaining ten books.

A fast funny cozy read set in one of my favorite locales- Cornwall! I'd not read the first 10 books in this long running series but that didn't make a difference. One thing was clear to me: I might think twice about joining one of Emily's tours given the murders and problems that seem to hound her. That said, she handles all the problems, including running an inn, with aplomb. The seniors from Iowa are a hoot, the mystery not too complicated, and all in all, it's a jolly one. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

Say No Moor: A Passport to Peril Mystery
By Maddy Hunter
Midnight Ink
January 2018

Review by Cynthia Chow

Emily Miceli is taking her loyal clients of Destinations Travel on a whirlwind tour through southwest England, but considering their record of murder and mayhem, she should have expected a few speed bumps. To promote her and her husband’s new tourist agency, Emily has offered a discount rate to an additional six bloggers in exchange for some positive social media publicity. That seems rather improbable when at Cornwall’s Stand and Deliver Inn they battle with its distinctly New Jersey-accented chef, get flooded out of their rooms, and find the aforementioned chef dead. The Windsor City seniors may have become accustomed to encountering a body or five, but with the inn’s owner hauled arrested Emily finds herself attempting to keep the place afloat to appease her blogging clientele. While Emily’s grandmother admirably steps up to the place in the kitchen with outstanding Midwestern meals, a series of inexplicable burglaries seem doomed to award their vacation with a rotten tomato.

As Emily plants metal detecting treasure hunts and ventures to lawsuit-inducing ancient sites, she must mediate between competitive bloggers, one a researching Austenite and the other a far more progressive Austen Zombie Girl. As events conspire to strand them at the inn as their numbers start to dwindle, an even more dire fate awaits the tech-savvy Iowans; the loss of the use of their smartphones.

Expect chaos, zany adventures, and loads of humor and social commentary with this 11th in the Passport to Peril mystery series. The seductive former Swiss police inspector Etienne Miceli is unfortunately off with his family to meet the Pope, so Emily will have to rely on her ex-husband, the gender-reassigned Jackie Thum for dubious support. The bloggers may have thousands of followers, but the Iowan seniors are no slouches themselves at Twitter feed blasts, selfies, or Google searches. Their very modern reliance on their social media tech for survival is as hilarious as it is ironic, especially in such illustrious, historical settings. The highlights of this series are always the very regional quirks of Emily’s Iowan tourists, who race to be an hour early, know how to pinch a penny, and appreciate their most irritable member’s implacable snarkiness. As the novel’s criminal escapades escalate, so do the laughs, and at the core is the warm embrace of this unique little family. This continues to be a delightful series where the characters have become even more likable and enjoyable as their familiarity grows.
