Great idea for a book and really well executed. A thoroughly good read. Highly recommended. .

Gracie LaRoo is the youngest synchronised swimmer and in this book, there are four stories that your young readers will love. While it was a fun read about Gracie competing for the first time in a world synchronised swimming competition and I know young readers would like it, it isn't a book that I would come back to again and again.
The illustrations are sweet and it is great that they are in colour.
Overall I would still recommend it to young readers.

Most early chapter books follow the same basic framework. This one is a bit of an aberration. Structurally, its closer to collected short stories. They are linked in broad strokes but each story stands on its own. Each plot has an easily distilled message and is supported by appealing illustrations. Focusing a book on synchronized swimming is an interesting choice. Not the most relatable but certainly unique. Additionally, synchronized swimming allows the author to discuss both cooperative and individual life-skills.

This book includes four story’s about Gracie Laroo including;

Books one-Gracie Laroo at pig jubilee
Books two-Gracie Laroo on the big screen
Book three-Gracie Laroo sets sail
Books four-Gracie Laroo goes to school.

Young ones will learn about keeping your concentration and working to get what you want. That even if things aren’t what expect you can make them fantastic. To work with others and you can make things better. And to have confidence if yourself.

These books have many valuable lessons, and the illustrations are adorable. This is a book that will be enjoyed by kids and parents both.

A big thanks to the publisher and netgalley for allowing my to read and review this book

What's not to love about an adorable female pig that loves to swim?! I enjoyed Gracie's adventures, some more than others, and watching her grow throughout the series. The last story was incredibly confusing because I realized I maybe completely unaware of her age. I think any tyke who likes dance or swimming and/or pigs will adore the bright colours and short stories. Hope there are more adventures to come.

The Marvelous, Amazing, Pig-tastic Gracie La Roo chronicles the adventures of Gracie La Roo, a young pig who is a water ballet swimmer. She and her team, the Sprites, compete at the 25th Pig Jubilee and preform on cruise ship. Gracie goes on to star in a movie and returns to her school to give speech.
The Marvelous, Amazing, Pig-tastic Gracie La Roo is a collection of four Gracie stories. Each story is told throughout a few chapters. The text is simple and easy to read, which makes it a perfect early chapter book. The illustrations are adorable and Gracie is too cute!
A sycronized swimming pig is a new idea, which is a welcomed change. I enjoyed Gracie's story and am happy to have a new, unique early chapter book to put in my patron's hands.

The Marvelous, Amazing, Pig-Tastic Gracie LaRoo! By Marsha Qualey is a delightful beginning chapter book for young children. Gracie is no ordinary pig. She is a synchronized swimming champion and a role model for other pigs as well. Each chapter in this book tells another story in the life of Gracie and each is just as entertaining as the last. I read this book with my son, one chapter a night, and he could not wait to hear the next story each night. I highly recommend this book for young readers. It is so entertaining and makes reading so fun for new readers. I received a copy of this book from the publisher. This is my honest review. I cannot wait to read other books in this series!

Gracie Laroo is full of spunk! I had a blast reading this book with my 6-year-old daughter. She loved that she could read most of the words herself, and we both enjoyed the story! We will definitely read it together again!

Great for fans of PRINCESS IN BLACK and MERCY WATSON books.

I really enjoyed reading it and would read it to my daughter. The book has 4 stories in it. Every story our main heroine solves a problem. She is nice and sweet. The stories are original and well illustrated. Almost everyone in the stories is female. Only the last story has a male in it:)

This book was beautifully illustrated and fun to read. Adorable pig and unique subject matter. I enjoyed reading about Gracie's team's quest for synchro perfection and think young children will love reading this with their parents.

Gracie La Roo at Pig Jubilee written by Marsha Qualey and illustrated by Kristyna Litten is an advanced easy reader or beginner chapterbook- depending on how you look at it. Gracie LaRoo is the youngest pig to make it to the Pig Jubilee in synchronized swimming. As the star of her team, the Water Sprites, the pressure is on! But Gracie can't seem to concentrate and land her signature move-the one sure to lead them to victory. Gracie has to find a way to get her concentration back, find her confidence, and land the move to bring home the gold medal and to make her team proud.

Gracie LaRoo at Pig Jubilee is a sweet collection of stories about a little pig trying to find her way. She learns about concentration, confidence, and being true to herself. She gets to learn about teamwork and patience as well, all while she does something she loves- swimming. Her practice, performing, and imperfections make her a characters that readers can relate to, empathize with, and learn with. The art work and stories remind me a little of Olivia- both in lessons learned and the fact that they are pigs. The art is lovely, and the emotion and captured in the illustrations help bring the story alike, and get the reader more involved in Gracie's struggles. I like that she makes mistakes, but still does her best and works to fix them.

Gracie LaRoo at Pig Jubilee is a good read with valuable lessons. I love a children's book that gets these lessons across to young readers without feeling pushy or preachy, which can be hard to do. This book does that, and entertains readers at the same time.

Gracie La Roo is a wonderful little book full of easy to read complication stories. For early readers or read aloud, this book is just short enough to keep their attention span and long enough to leave them wanting more.

The illustrations have their own distinct style and remind me of several of my favorite popular books.

The storylines are simple, easy to understand concepts, each with their own 'lesson/moral'. Throughout the book, we find Gracie stepping up to the plate and working out her problems step by step to help those around her.

Gracie is a plucky ernest porcine with her sights set high with her ambitions. Engaging early reader chapter books like this one are what take a child from sounding out words to reading a story and total comprehension.

I do believe this author and illustrator have put out the first book the next series for young, girl readers. Out star, Gracie La Roo is loveable, energetic, and determined. The vocabulary in this book is clever and fun: Piggywood, Bristled boar, Wiggly piggly pyramid, Sooey sooey star , A pig flies, Gilda swinetune, Pig tube videos, merpigs, (mermaids) to name a few. In this book, there are four stories with Gracie La Roo as the main character told in four short chapters. Gracie encounters problems, thinks about it and figures things out for herself and her synchronised swimming team. The team s called Water Sprites. She even has her own signature move, the "When Pigs Fly" spin.
The illustrations are adorable and really enhance the story. For example: the Water Sprites get the opportunity to perform on a cruise ship. Also on the ship, entertaining passengers is the very famous dancer, Rita Sinclair. One afternoon Rita is conducting a dance class for the older sows on the ship. The pictures show elderly pigs all following Rita's moves; some with walking sticks and one ageing sow is dancing while seated in her chair. Just so precious...
Yes, for me this book us a BIG hit!
