The writing style of this book can only be described as the kind of Millennial Passion you can only find on Tumblr Discourse threads. In a good way! I appreciate the energy you get just from the introduction and instructions (Like, legit instructions on how to read a cookbook omg)

But overall, the positive message of turning your negative energy into positive energy (and then deciding if it needs to be honed into a Caesar-stabbing knife after emotion is no longer a blind spot)

Also? A+++ for the photography and art throughout the book. It's appetizing, it gets you in the mood for some 'you're a piece of sheet cake' yourself.

The more I scrolled through this book, the more I wanted to spend my actual money on it and send it up to my sister in college (who is without me and way better at baking than I am so it's obvi the perfect gift)

This cookbook was way too hilarious for me NOT to request to review! “Dedicated to the beaten, battered, and burned”, it warmed my heart. The subtitles such as “go ahead and bite-me sized treats, I never kneaded you anyway” made me laugh (and drool at the recipes). Heather Kim’s sense of humor completely made my day, and it was really encouraging to read her opinion on not taking revenge online. Her opinion is that ‘kindness is rare…like baking, kindness takes time, energy, and effort, and those efforts are wholeheartedly returned’. Mixing a beautiful attitude, creative writing, and great recipe makes this book an amazing one to have as a resource, and even better as a gift (especially for those brokenhearted).

It’s wonderfully laid out, with great photos/graphics/information, and is just so refreshingly modern. Love it, love it!!!

Liked the recipes and the tongue-in-cheek slant of the book
