A well written gripping read that drew me in from the first page. I couldn't put it down until the end!

Fun read. I enjoyed the characters Morgan and Lance and would read other books with them in it. I liked reading all the perspectives of the people in the book from Chelsea the abducted mom, to the kidnapper, the accused husband, the lawyer, the police etc. Good storyline, holds your interest. A mystery with a little bit of sexy time thrown in there:)

Let me first start off saying I have not read the first book in this series and you don't have to. This book can be a standalone or you can read it after the first one. I really like Morgan and Lance. I think they work really well together though in this particular book I found Morgan to be more of a PI then a lawyer. I liked the fact that I didn't guess who the kidnapper was until the book told me. The book was engrossing and I enjoyed all the characters in this book. I look forward to more stories in this series.

It was with great pleasure that I read an ARC copy of Her Last Goodbye, the latest installment in the Morgan Dane series by Melinda Leigh.
Morgan Dane, an attorney, and her partner, Lance Kruger, an investigator, look into the disappearance of Chelsea Clark, a young mother who vanished when she left home for a girls' night out. Chelsea's husband hires them to find his wife and prove his innocence. But the deeper they dig, the deadlier their investigation becomes. Soon, Morgan has caught the eye of a violent predator, putting everything and everyone she's ever loved in grave danger. Morgan and Lance must unmask the killer before Morgan becomes his next victim.
This book not only held my interest (as all of Melinda’s books do) but kept me guessing ‘who dunnit’ until the very end! Brava!!

When Chelsea goes missing, her husband isn't satisfied waiting for the police department it wasn't voluntary and start investigating, he hires Morgan to represent him and Lance and Sharp to continue the investigation. As in the first book in series, this book is a good balance between a romance and a suspense book. (Good since I am not a huge romance fan.) Lance and Morgan continue to find themselves attracted to each other and Morgan shows herself as a woman who doesn't need a man to protect her. Ms. Leigh does a great job of reminding the reader that life doesn't stop when tragic events happen by having life continually get in the way of the budding relationship and several parts of the story deal with plot lines not specifically related to the case. Morgan's daughters are given more prominent places than many authors would give children and it adds a nice counterbalance to the hard situations dealt with in the books.

Her Last Goodbye is the second installment in the Morgan Dane series by Melinda Leigh. Morgan, Lance, and Sharp are hired to help find a missing woman. Nail biting and intense from start to finish. I couldn't put this book down. Looking forward to more in this series.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of Her Last Goodbye by Melinda Leigh that I read and reviewed.
This book is the second book in the Morgan Dane series by Melinda Leigh and it picks right up where the first one left off. Morgan is working with Lance, a private detective, trying to help defend people and solve cases that come and ask for their help while they try to figure out what is going on between them romantically.
In this book they have a father come and ask for Morgan's help when his wife goes missing and he may be a suspect. This book has a number of suspects, twists and some romance. Leigh throws all kinds of surprises at the reader in the second book in this series. It will definitely keep one guessing until the end.
Her Last Goodbye gets four out of five stars

I was so excited when I got to this book in my TBR stack! I have been looking forward to reading this second in series since I discovered this author in Say You’re Sorry. And it didn’t disappoint.

Morgan Dane has officially opened her law office inside Sharp Investigations. When a man comes in asking for help finding his missing wife, Lance Kruger and Morgan work together like a well oiled machine to figure out the mystery.

Once again, the romance is secondary to the mystery, but the chemistry between these two is felt throughout the book. As with the first book, I love the fact that these two have an adult, mature relationship that doesn’t have turmoil, angst or arguments thrown in just because. They are intricately, seamlessly woven into each other’s lives.

Lincoln Sharp continues to gain my respect as Lance’s father figure/mentor and general upstanding, intelligent, all around good guy. All the secondary characters are well developed and interesting.

The thriller/suspense part of this book is a page-turner. A couple plot twists. One I saw coming, the other I didn’t. In fact, I thought initially it was someone else. Kudos to the author.

This can be read as a standalone, thanks to the author’s writing skills, but start with the first one, it’s truly worth it.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC provided by NetGalley and the publisher.

NUMBER OF HEARTS: 5
Her Last Goodbye is the second book in the Morgan Dane series. This time Morgan find herself trying to solve a missing persons case. Morgan is hired to defined the missing woman’s husband. Morgan believes he is innocent but the local Sheriff has other thoughts. The twists and turns surrounding this case will keep you guessing until the very end.

But will this case be to close for comfort for Lance?

I loved how close Morgan & Lance get in this book. Lance is simply the best thing that could have ever happen to Morgan and her family. I am very much looking forward to the next installment in this series!!

HER LAST GOODBYE by Melinda Leigh book 2 in " Morgan Dane" series. Morgan has an office were Private attorneys often required services of PI, convenient and rent was cheap for her. A new case Tim Clark, wife missing, children, father is deviastaed. Case, hits home for both Lance and Morgan they both knew they would take the case. A powerful story that is high on emotion of all the characters. The feelings between Lance and Morgan, can't be ignored, but responsibilities are so many. The case is baffling and on a hunch Morgan acts on her gut instinct, will it bring closure. This is a great plot, the characters are so real. Readers will love this story, and look for more in this series. Given ARC by Net Galley for my honest opinion and my voluntary review.

Oh My Gosh! Talk about an edge of your seat, buckle up it's going to be one heckuva ride thriller. This was certainly one of the more heart pounding, nail biting and intense stories I've read in some time. It's one of those that you don't want to put down and when you are forced to (pesky job!) your mind keeps wandering back it.

No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't crack the code on this one. I literally had NO clue until the end who the guilty party was and then when I thought I finally had it all figured out, Ms. Leigh threw another wrench in it. Completely threw me off my game. One of the best romantic suspense novels I've ever read. The romance between Lance and Morgan starting to FINALLY heat up brought a soft touch to the story as well.

Her Last Goodbye is Book 2 of the Morgan Dane series by Melinda Leigh. While this stands nicely on its own and it's not necessary to have read the first in the series, you would miss out on some of the back story and it was nice to revisit many of the characters so I would recommend at least going back and picking up Book 1, even if you don't get a chance to read them in order.

Melinda Leigh is an auto buy author for me. I know when I read something of hers that I won't be disappointed.
'Her Last Goodbye' is the second book in the Morgan Dane series. Chelsea Clarke is a mother of two small children who vanishes on a night out with her friends. The police suspect her husband and put all their focus on him. Out of desperation Tim Clarke hires Morgan and Sharpe investigations to find his missing wife. Morgan teams up with Lance Kruger from a sharpe Investigations who just also happens to be her former high school boyfriend.
This book was what I call a 'light romantic suspense'. While there is a relationship developing between Morgan and Lance, it isn't the main focus of the story. It's not even the second focus of the story, that's more about Morgan and her family life. This book felt more suspense/thriller for me. I was a little disappointed about the lack of romance in 'Her Last Goodbye' as I've read a lot other books by Melinda Leigh and I know she can produce great romantic suspense books, so I'm not too sure why the relationship between Morgan and Lance is so slow moving but maybe it will finally develop in the next book in the series.
Overall this was another great, fast paced book in the series.

5* Nail Biting Stars

This is the second book in the Morgan Dane Series and the first book I have read in the series. One can easily read this without reading the first book as the author incorporates important facts from the first book into this captivating story.

It is a romantic suspense told in multiple voices which keeps your interest peaked throughout the book.

The nail biting suspense at about 50% in had my heart racing and my fingers turning the pages at a rate of knots to find out what was going to happen! The story is very well written and engaging.

Morgan the main character was very likeable and genuine, the secondary characters of which there are quite a few, were also very engaging and interesting.

This story had it all, love, family, drama, kidnapping, and suspense. It will keep you guessing until the last page is read.

This was a fantastic read and I look forward to reading more in this series.

Thanks to Montlake Romance and NetGalley for allowing me to read this e-book for an honest opinion.

Morgan Dane has officially opened her private office and moved into the PI office with Lance. The husband of a missing woman has hired them to find her. This dynamic team gets right to it and shakes up the Sheriff's office while investigating and basically doing their jobs too. She has three small children, a grandfather and an ill nanny - talk about a full plate. But she takes it all with ease, gallons of coffee and still manages to break noses when necessary. The way Lance respects her crazy world, offers her support and encourages her career I believe Morgan and Lance are in this for the long run. Leigh writes powerful books with twists and turns, intelligent characters and realistic situations. Always a thrill to read this series. I was fortunate to receive a copy from Netgalley and I've written this review voluntarily.

Chelsey disappears Friday on her way to the bar to have a drink with a girlfriend. The sheriff does not seem to be doing his job, so Chelseys husband hires a Private Investigating Firm. What the firm uncovers is a lot more than just Chelsey disappearing.
This was a page turner from the very beginning. IT was filled with action, suspense, and was a thrill ride to the last page. I have a new favorite author!

This is book 2 in the Morgan Dane series. We see more of Morgan's three year old daughter in this book. There are twists and turns and lots of drama. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

I luckily received a copy of Her Last Goodbye through Net Galley from Montlake Romance. This is the second book in the Morgan Dane series, you don't have to read the first but I highly recommend it, seriously, treat yourself and get the first one... Morgan is a widow with three children, a grandfather and a young dialysis patient. Morgan works with a PI agency. PI Lance and Morgan together try to find a young missing Mother. Things are hitting too close to home...throw in some steam between Morgan and Lance, sprinkle with family issues, a sheriff who isn't happy with them and Phew what a story...Without giving anything away, I enjoy Melinda Leigh's writing. This is 2 of 3 but hopefully she will set off in another direction with other family members (are you reading this Melinda) The characters are strong enough that I don't have to say "now who is this" you know how it is between books in a series. There is just enough romance so it isn't a Romance/Mystery...this is a mystery with some romance.. My type of book. Best of both worlds
