I thought this had a good premise, but right from the beginning, I found it to be far-fetched and unbelievable.

Wow! This book really grabs you from the first page and doesn't let go!
It's every parents worst nightmare to have your child taken and Richard Parker relays the fear and worry of both parents in a gripping way.
Cooper's Mum is using an app called 'Right where you're standing' to track gruesome murder sites so she can try and track the person who took her son. Little does she know that the use of this app is leading her into more and more danger.
Absolutely brilliant book which keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout.
I highly recommend this book.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for sending me an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is my first Richard Parker book and won't be the last, I read it over two days and loved how gripping it was. The reader is dropped right into the fast paced plot right from paged one. This book will be in my top thrillers for 2017.
I found this book an easy read with short chapters, after finishing one chapter you feel the need to read the rest. I didn't feel is was very different to the other crime thriller I read, for me it was what I hoped for and expected from this kind of book..
The book has many twist and turns and starts off with every parents worst nightmare, their child being abducted. Lana the mother has to see this happen and know there is nothing she can do to keep her child safe. She fights every step of the way to get Cooper back.

Wow. This is my first Richard Parker novel, I usually stick to lighthearted chick-lit so this was a real eye opener for me! I'm so glad I decided to go out-with my comfort zone and give this a try. It is the sort of thing that I would be absolutely glued to were it on TV, so I wasn't surprised to read somewhere that the author was formerly a TV Script writer - this would make an amazing movie/TV drama. We are instantly thrown into the scene of an attempted child abduction - every parent's worst nightmare - however, the incredibly brave Lana (the Mother) manages to fight off her child's abductor but lives the next few months of her life being taken over by the aftermath. She becomes obsessed with an app about murders, and obviously the possibility that this will happen again - after all - the abductor did say he would be back "tomorrow"...... there are so many twists and turns in this novel, I had to remind myself to breathe at times! Lana's husband feels responsible when the unthinkable does, in fact, happen, (is it all a setup?) and they both go off on their separate paths in a quest to get their child back no matter the consequences. I'm not sure I would be as brave or as headstrong as either of the main characters in the book, however, this is definitely one of those situations where you don't know how you would act until it happened to you. Not that I can imagine anything as sordid happening in real life, but I did say I usually live in a world of chick lit :) This is a book you have to concentrate on - there is so much going on - but it is so worth it. Gripping doesn't even come close. If you are a fan of mystery, thriller and suspense books, then this is for you. If not, this book is still for you. Highly recommended. Thank you to NetGalley, bookouture and Richard Parker for the opportunity to read and review this book.

This was an entertaining read.
It’s not so much twisty as it is super suspenseful – and creepy. In fact, I think it was the creepy factor that I loved the most. Part of it is that I’m a mom and the idea of something like this happening with my own kid fills me with terror. But part it was just he incredibly creepy idea of the horrifying little game that’s being played here.
Keep in mind that, at times, you’ll want to throw the ebook against the virtual wall when characters start doing incredibly stupid things. And there will be times when it’s just so obvious that something is going on with one character that it just drives you nuts that our girl can’t see it.
But it’s still a highly entertaining popcorn read and a fast pace thrill until the end.

Mr. Whisper is coming again...tomorrow.
Lana and Todd Cross think they've dodged a bullet (figuratively speaking). A man in a children's mask tries to kidnap their young son, Cooper, from their yard. Lana is able to chase them down and is able to wrest her son from the kidnapper but he promises to be back...tomorrow.
So the Cross family's peace of mind has been taken from them and Lana obsesses over Cooper's safety as the months go by. And Mr. Whisper hasn't forgotten them.
The start of this book was fast-paced and exciting from the first page and through probably half the book - but then the pieces started falling apart. There were parts of the plot that were unnecessary and cumbersome.
And the ending sequences just seemed like an information dump, with some out-there ideas and some that just didn't work at all.
I did like the very ending of the book, though, so that along with liking the beginning would have me rating this at 3 1/2 stars if I could.
I received this book from Bookouture through Net Galley in exchange for my unbiased review.

The book started out with an intriguing premise. A man in a squirrel mask tries to abduct her young son and Lana finds herself obsessed with an app called Right Where Your Standing, visiting the sites of kidnappings and killings and trying to figure out who it might have been who tried to take her child. She's convinced that, after failing in his original attempt, Mr. Whispers is going to come back and try again. It's an interesting read until Cooper is taken from Blue Crest Adventure Park. After that, I lost all interest in the story.

*Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.* 'Hide and Seek' begins with Lana, mother of four-year-old Cooper foiling a kidnap in her own backyard and the action doesn't let up from there. After the attempted kidnapping of Cooper by 'Mr Whisper', Lana and her family move into a small, secure apartment and attempt to get their life back on track. However, Lana can't let go of what has happened and has developed a number of obsessive behaviours to deal with her fear and anxiety. A family holiday to a fun park seems like the perfect way to put the past behind them, but then it all goes wrong. Lana's husband, Todd is in hospital, Cooper is missing and Lana is left to fight for her son's survival. A fast paced-novels with the usual twists and turns that one expects from a thriller.

Richard Parker has done it again! I absolutely LOVED Be My Killer. It was one of my favourite books of 2017. And so I was eagerly looking forward to this book and wow! It is a masterpiece! From the gripping first line this book takes hold of you and doesn't let go, the story taking you on a tense, nail-biting journey of many twists where nothing is as it seems. The writing is brilliant and packs a punch, the pace driving the story along and you with it. I lived this story and it is a credit to the author that I did not want the book to end even as I was frantically turning the pages to get to the resolution. And what a resolution it was! I absolutely adored this book. I am a great fan of this author and cannot wait for more from him.

This book is noted gory as what ibwas hoping. The author has a great ability in making me feel what the characters lives are like.
Every parents worst nightmare comes to life in this gripping read.

A well-written fast paced mystery/thriller. There were some slow parts I though about putting it down, but the author hooked me early and then slowed down and once it picked up again I was sucked din a bit and had to figure it out. Some clues were given and made it a little to easy to figure things out (which sucks sometimes) but the overall plot was solid.

The action starts immediately with the attempted abduction of a child and never quits until the last page. If you like a fast-paced, heart-pounding, edge-of-your-seat thriller, this is it. My heart went out to Lana who never recovered from the attempted abduction before being thrust into a nightmare. The interwoven subplot going on with Todd added more intricacies and more action.
Thanks to Richard Parker and Bookouture through Netgalley for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

The reader is hooked from the opening paragraph, the tension builds, quickly and if your like me you found yourself trying to read as quickly as you can.
Absolutely brilliant highly recommended.

I really liked the start of this book. Completely in your face and chilling.
It starts with every parents worst nightmare, the attempted abduction of Lana and Todd's little boy Cooper. Fortunately, Lana rescues him and stops him from being taken by a man known only as "Mr Whisper".
Several months' down the line and Lana is still trying to figure out who tried to abduct Cooper through an app called "Right Where You're Standing" - an app that pinpoints where a murder took place. Then the unthinkable happens, Cooper is taken. How could this happen again? Was it Mr Whisper?
What follows is Lana and Todd going about finding Cooper from different angles. What is Todd hiding from Lana? Is it his fault Cooper was taken?
This is my first Richard Parker book and I will definitely read his other works.
My thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley for an ARC of this book!

This book follows Lana and Todd, whose son Cooper is kidnapped.
After an originally failed kidnap attempt on Cooper, Lana becomes obsessed with trying to find the man who did it, and goes to visit various murder sites she has found on an app called Right Where You're Standing.
The story is fast paced, although a little sometimes a little over the top, was a good read. I just felt it was missing something. Still it is well worth a read.

I have never read a book by this author before and I really enjoyed this as an introduction. Fast moving story, out of the gate grabbed me. Definitely a good start to any book! A little scary to read about the kidnapping of a child as a mom myself, but very intriguing as well. Great writing, believable and interesting story, a quick-paced crime thriller. Several twists kept the story moving along quickly to a very interesting end. I will definitely be looking for more books from this author in the future! Thanks NetGalley!!

It has been a few days since I finished reading Hide and Seek and I still keep thinking about it; playing on a parent’s worst fears of anything happening to your child and introducing one of the most sinister characters I have read this year in the form of Mr Whisper. Seriously, I had the heebie jeebies from the opening chapter and the first failed abduction attempt of Cooper and from then was taken on a heart pounding journey right up until the last page!!
Understandably Lana is a little paranoid after this life changing event and lives in fear every day that Mr Whisper will return to take Cooper as he promised but surely that couldn’t happen right?!
Wrong!! Lana and her husband Todd are plunged back into a real life nightmare when their son Cooper is abducted while they are on a family trip. Todd is injured and has dangerous secrets of his own to deal with and Lana is embroiled in a dangerous game of cat and mouse to try and find Cooper before it’s too late. Hide and Seek was one of those books that I couldn’t put down and raced to finish (much to the detriment of my poor pounding heart!). My feelings towards Lana and Todd were mixed; they both seemed guilty of putting Cooper at risk but I couldn’t knock Lana’s bravery in her mission to solve the puzzles being drip fed to her from the abductor and find her son.
A gripping thriller that will keep you guessing until the very end!!

This book started well and I did read through to the end but, I must admit, I ended up almost skimming, just to see what happened. The premise was good, really good, but the unravelling was contrived and the behaviour of the main characters rather unrealistic, in my opinion.

This was a good story that had it been executed better would have been a 5 star read. There was just so much stuff that seemed too implausible or far fetched that it kind of ruined the book for me. On the positive side it's fast paced, hooks you from page 1 and is a fairly quick read.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for this review copy.
My first Richard Parker book. I’d heard such good things about this book and this author that I had to give it a try. The book begins quite shockingly with 4 year old Cooper being abducted from his garden whilst his mum, Lana, is watching from the kitchen window. She manages to foil the kidnapper, but he whispers to her that he’ll be back tomorrow. Some months later, Lana is still trying to find out who the kidnapper was. She uses an app called “Right Where You’re Standing” which identifies murder scenes as she convinced that it will lead her to the kidnapper. On a family holiday to an Amusement Park, Cooper is again abducted. Her husband, Todd, is also attacked and left in a coma. She finds that a picture of her and her family has been posted on the app and listed as potential murder victims. Can she work out who is behind all this?
I enjoyed this book, if that’s the right word! The first part is quite shocking with Cooper and his attempted abduction. As a mother myself, to put myself in that position would be absolutely horrifying and I think the author managed to get the fear spot on! The story starts with a bang, but for me slows up in the run up to the next abduction in the amusement park. I don’t really get why Lana would focus so much on the murderer app, and so obviously put it before both her husband and child. Again, the next abduction gets the fear factor spot on. Being in a busy park area, lots of people and children and you can’t see where your child is. I’ve been in that situation – only for a minute or so – but the fear is immense and I felt every bit of Lana’s fear whilst reading this!
I won’t spoil the book by giving away any of the story, but safe to say this was a creepy thriller which puts you on the edge of your seat. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep your guessing all the way through. The first part for me was a bit slow, but it certainly picked up again and by the end I couldn’t put it down! It kept me awake until the early hours just to finish it! If you like your thrillers, then this is the book for you!
