Rhyming words with bright illustrations. Kids visit a zoo and see some animals.Enjoyable

A nice story with great rhymes but I think the title of Safari kids is a bit misleading when they actually go to the zoo - other than that its very good - 4 stars

Two kids dressed in stereotypical jungle gear, complete with those annoyingly uncomfortable pith helmets, go out to photograph wild animals. Turns out they’re going to the zoo rather than on safari, but for a kid I guess it’s pretty much the same thing.
There are some really good rhymes, and others not so much. Similarly, some of the stanzas are perfectly in rhythm and others are not. The one thing I most love is that they’re siblings of different races, and nothing is said about it.
The artwork is totally cartoon, with bold colors. Feels like meerkats are in every book I read these days.
3.5 pushed up to 4/5

I love the use of white space in Safari Kids - there are cut-out images on each pages, with plenty of white space allowing the text to stand out nice and clearly, and the images are really effect shown in this way. The rhyming of the narrative makes it enjoyable to read, with short chunks of text on each page, so a book manageable for very young children. The book introduces various more unusual animals which will likely be lesser known to youngsters (and some adults, myself included!) such as an okapi and a condor. An all-round simple but effective story.

This is a cute rhyming story about two children who visit a zoo for their own personal "safari". Each animal that is introduced has at least one piece of information about it in a nice rhyming format. This could be a cute read for young children, a jump off point (introduction) when learning about animals in a classroom or to read before a visit to the zoo. There is just enough information to peak the interest of children. The illustrations are also well done and add to the story. A good book for a school, classroom, public or family library

Safari Kids by Katrina Streza. Illustrated by Bree Paulsen. Xist Publishing. Children's Fiction. This is a rhyming picture book that will be fun to read aloud. Illustrations are cozy and cute. Highly recommend for your young child who wants to go on a picture-taking safari that covers basic animals and a few more exotic ones. Thanks to NetGalley and Xist Publishing for providing this ebook for review.

A brother and sister head out to the zoo with cameras in hand. Kids who love animals will appreciate the illustrations and all will like the rhythm and rhyme of the story.

Rhyming story about two kids exploring a zoo. My rating does not stem from the quality of the delightful illustrations, but from the fact that I do not approve of animals in captivity.

I think this book would work great in a classroom, especially during a week themed around animals. It won't take too long to get through and there's a lot of room for expanding a lesson through it. The rhyming words are great for younger kids.

A fun little book for the little ones, as a boy and girl go exploring the zoo, meeting all sorts of interesting animals. Told in sing-song verse, it's a nice story (although the rhythm is a little off at times), which holds the attention of our toddler, backed up by the fun drawings of all the interesting animals. It's a good array of different animals - giving kids lots to look at and learn. Overall, a nice story that could be a good addition to the shelf.

A very adorable book that I would recommend for children beginning to learn about poetry and rhyming.

This was a cute trip through the zoo. but I didn't care much for the knife reference in the beginning. Otherwise, good for naptime, I suppose. Illustrations are nice.

Lots of fun for a trip to a zoo. The rhymes are right on, and the narrator's reliable and exciting.

A really good story about all different animals two children meet at the zoo whilst doing a safari. It rhymes really well lost of the time. My daughter loves it and it has made it onto our night time reading list .
