Very strong rhyming picture book, where the pig whose house might have been blown down finds that the wolf has turned to plan B instead – to gobble Red Riding Hood's gran. I like to see books doing more than they need to, and here the obvious chant-along refrain of the rescue mission is one of those, as is of course the twist that even I didn't see coming. Lively and clever, this is four and a half stars easily.

Fantastic book for young children, with easy to follow rhymes and an interesting take on the 'Little Red Riding Hood' story.

I read this to my 2 and 3 year old grandchildren and they were enchanted by it. The pictures enhanced the story and the rhymes were catchy enough that it was easy for them to start joining in at certain points in the story.

A lovely book that I would recommend to anyone with young children. An enchanting 4 stars.

My daughter enjoyed the return of characters for stories that we have read. We liked that the pig was being brave and helping someone.
This book is one we will return to for a future story time.

4 stars for this fun picture book.

This children's picture book entertains from the very beginning, with strong, galloping rhymes -reminiscent of Julia Donaldson or Lynley Dodds - that pull you straight into the story. A beguiling mix of Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs (with a drawn reference to Rapunzel), this is a sweet story with gorgeous ultra-colourful illustrations. I felt that the illustrations were lovely throughout, whereas the story tailed off slightly from its terrific beginning.

I received this ebook free from NetGalley in return for an honest review.

This book has some excellent images and the story is great, it is a twist on the Three Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood combined. I was really enjoying the book and it was going so well until the last few pages when it seemed to lose its rhythm and for me the ending could have been a bit better and it seemed quite abrupt compared to the rest of the book - it could have been a 5 star read but due to the above, I've knocked it down to 4 stars, which is still a good read.

This children's book is a modern take on the well-known Little Red Riding Hood, and The Three Little Pigs - they've been flawlessly combined together in a new, fun story. Told with very catching rhyming text, it's an enjoyable read. Wolf releases he can't huff and puff and blow the house down, so he goes after grandma, hence the title 'The Great Gran Plan'. Unfortunately as I received this on Kindle I wasn't properly able to see the book's layout and the colour - from the little I could see though the images looked great, but I'm sure they look far better in colour. Overall it's a fun read, the words having a great rhythm that makes you want to read it again and again.

An extremely entertaining picture book in the form of a whimsical and rhyming twist on red riding hood! Lenton's illustrations and Woollard's delightful prose were made for each other!
