Thank you for the opportunity to read this book. Unfortunately, while I enjoyed the first book I read in the series I had some problems with the second book I read. I am unable to get into this one.

Cute book with nice illustrations. Wasn't really my cup of tea but I can see how kids would love it.

I had trouble getting into this series, but I am sure much younger readers would enjoy it. It seems like it might be a good book for kids who find halloween to be scary.

I love the idea of a Sleepy Hollow where it's perpetually Halloween. An evil mayor and an intrepid set of kids set on making sure the evil stays at bay while going on amazing adventures. Kids who love the Magic Treehouse series will undoubtedly love this!

Harry might have overcome Titus' bullying but they aren't friends. There's talent night competition for Halloween and Titus is determined to win it!

Rabbit Publishers and Net Galley let me read this book for review (thank you). It has been published, so you can grab a copy now.

This book is even more fun than the last one. In this one, Harry gets a rabbit he can pull out of his top hat. It's even more special because the rabbit is magic and he can fly! The practice performance makes it look like Harry will win it but Titus is determined...

When the show is over, Harry gets disqualified because no one can answer how the rabbit did it. But he's a good sport and goes to the big party Titus' father is putting on. It's a good thing he did...

This one is exciting, Titus needs Harry's help, and it all ends well. Sometimes you're only enemies because you don't know each other well or you're jealous. It's better to be friends.

This book is about magic, and all that is good, with a generous serving of adventure. Harry Moon and his family are very likable and believable too. I need to read the rest of the series now.
Harry is special, and his sight enables him to see a danger that will harm his beloved Sleepy Hollow if he does not stop it, and with the help of his loved ones, can he conquer the evil?
A favorite quote from the book:
‘What all boys and girls are destined to become if they simply believe…….They become magic’

A cute little story, but I am not sure I am the target audience, however I love books meant for all ages, I just couldn't quite connect to this one.

Cute little story about Harry and his adventures. This is a book that I would read for my children if I had any. :)

I’d never heard of Harry Moon, let alone Mark Andrew Poe before I stumbled on these books in the Netgalley. I fished out some information from the depths of internet and learned that the series has numerous volumes and is very popular in the US. Having now read three volumes; Harry Moon Wand Paper Scissors, Harry Moon Halloween Nightmares and Honey Moon Dog Daze, I can see were the success comes from. The books are indeed very professionally produced and the stories perfectly tailored to the goals stated in the Rabbit Publisher’s website:

Rabbit's aspirations for our young readership:
To cultivate their minds to utmost capacity.
To become familiar with our cultural heritage.
To respect and have affection for the natural world.
To strive for excellence in creative expression in all fields of learning, literature and art.
To seek effective ways to live a fulfilling life.

The three books all have interesting stories and fabulous illustrations. I think these would be perfect for the readers from 7 – 10 years, after that they’d feel a tad bit too childish. The length of the books might prevent all 7-year-olds from tackling them through, but they could go as parent & child read-along books too.

One thing that caught my attention was the quite heavily dosed religious content in the Halloween book. As my aim is to promote literature across borders, I always consider the books on their possibilities to thrive in other than their home markets too. From my Finnish/European perspective the religious content would marginalize this book in the very secular/multicultural literature markets around here.

Another thing that intrigued me was, that there seems to be absolutely no information on Mark Andrew Poe in the web, other than what’s on the publisher’s own website. Is this a pen name?

I found the narration stiff and unnatural. For instance, why continually refer to the family members by their whole names? The plot was cute but the writing style left a lot to be desired.

I think maybe if I was warned how Christian based this was, I would have liked it more? But it just kind of smacks you in the face and keeps smacking you.

This 2nd book from the Harry Moon series recalls the predictions to Harry when he was still a baby; and readers will be able to know on what is really happening behind the Sleepy Hollow's success after Mayor Kligore governed the town. It is a fight between with good and evil; in a more subtle way. I guess, as the story develops on each book in the series, not only Harry's skill will improve but his duel with evil will became huge as well. I am not only fond of books that has a theme of magic or witchcraft, but this book series is really magnificent. I'm quite sure that kids ages 10 and above will also love this series.

I have been reading a lot of children books and this one sounded interesting. When I started reading, it reminded me of Harry Potter but in a bad way. The plot wasn't anything new and I found the writing more childish than I was expecting. The illustrations were good but had an amateur feel.
But I am still interested in reading more of this series.

This middle-grade book tells a tale of a 13 year old boy who lives in a town stuck in perpetual Halloween. I found the story here to be disjointed (beware a book that feels the need to outline all of the central characters up front, good writing makes everything clear in the telling). Also, I felt that while the reading level was appropriate for middle grade (a bit on the younger side, even), the story itself felt too young for the age of the protagonist. Overall, it felt that this book was trying to capitalize on the popularity of another magician named Harry. Unfortunately, it doesn't begin to match the magic.

DNF - just didn't seem at all interesting, like the other one I tried.
