I always enjoy a good paranormal mystery and this one did not disappoint. Great characters with an Intersting premise and a great ending. I'm new to this series so now I have to go and read the first book and look forward to the third book at the same time. Just a lot of fun.

I picked this book because of the interesting cover. I'm not usually a fan of supernatural books but this one came from an angle which I could get behind. The story is good and there are relate-able characters which help the story along. There is a few forced points that make you think "Why didn't they just do x" but otherwise it is a decent story that will get you entertained. A good start to a series perhaps.

This was a strange book for me. Normally, I have to like the characters in a book in order to keep reading. It took a long time for me to even warm up to the main character. There were some characters I liked which balanced out the number of characters I didn't like. Yet, I couldn't stop reading. The story is very compelling and, at times, creepy. The first death was so beautifully scary.
My only other problem is that there is a weird twist about a character being transgender. The twist is so very pointless and telegraphed. Once the twist was revealed I couldn't stop thinking, why wasn't this just presented in the beginning as this character is transitioning? Why did there have to be a surprise element to it? Maybe it would have been a better twist twenty years ago.

The second in this series stands alone, and while not my usual genre, this combined real life with the paranormal in an amazingly believable way. I've never heard of a fetch and what it can do to people - it had me intrigued right from the start! And the third book has been set up at the very end of this book. But first I need to circle back and read the first book in this series. I highly recommend this book to those who believe in the paranormal. . . or not.

People are dying just after seeing themselves. Not in a mirror, but actually seeing themselves in front of them. On some of these occasions, their spouses have heard their last words sharing these visions. This is when Kester Lanner and his supernatural team get involved. They are joined by their rival agency's team for this investigation. Larry Higgins and Kester's father, Dr. Ribero do not get along and often argue. This leads to arguments between the team members. The teams easily realize they are dealing with doppelgangers, but they are not sure how the victims are connected. They not only need to learn the connection of the victims, they must also figure out how to deal with this particular type of doppelganger. To make things harder, they are on a very strict time schedule and there is still bickering among the teams. This is the second book in Dr. Ribero's Agency of the Supernatural. Reading the first book would, of course, help with gaining background on the characters, but not reading that book did not hinder the experience of reading this book. The reader is given adequate details about their first case and the main characters. It is obvious many of the characters in this book were not in the first and their details are shared throughout the story. This was an enjoyable story and I look forward to future books in this series. I give this book a 3.5 rounded to 4.

I usually enjoy a good paranormal mystery and this book was no exception; with plenty of action, some wince-worthy interactions between characters that are decidedly amusing, a killer ghost, senior citizens and two competing agencies compelled to work together to solve the mystery of the ghosts' origin.

This title is number two in the series, but was able to be read as a standalone title. Having said that I'll be adding number one to my TBR list. A very enjoyable few hours were spent reading... and now I really want to know what or who, Thelemites are!

With thanks to Netgalley and the Publisher for my ARC.

Banks manages to give us a world populated with loveable, relatable characters and supernatural menaces that are utterly believable and unforgettable. This book will have you sleeping with the lights no for days and yet you'll want to read it again and again.
