I don’t think this book was the right one for me. I’m a big fan of Japanese Historical novels, and I sort of got that here, but the book was not compelling for me. I couldn’t get into the characters, didn’t find the plot particularly engaging, and it was too slow, for my tastes. It’s not a bad book, but it really is only for the seriously die-hard Historical fans, though.

Unfortunately didn't finish this one as I just couldn't get into it. My boyfriend also tried reading as he really enjoys this genre but found it hard to read aswell. I'm sure not everyone will feel the same, this just wasn't for me.
