I was not able to get into this story. I felt a disconnect from the story and the characters. I had to keep going back and rereading because the story just wasn't sticking with me.

This is my first book from this author, I loved the story line, Different from what I've been reading and i couldn't wait to jump in, The only thing for me was it took me 4 and a half chapters to get into this as i just couldn't connected with any of the characters. But bit by bit i started to get into it. I would of like a bit more towards the end with regards to what happened but overall this wasn't bad.

This was a good book about someone who didn’t toons to be a superhero but ended up becoming one. Reece Richards the very rich owner of the hotel and “bolt” tried to stay away from everyone but ended up meeting his sole mate in Emmalina Crist. The story was good but I just couldn’t get into it. I loved the romance and love story but am not a fan of the science part of it. I am a fan of Angel Payne and will still wait for other releases from this author. This is also a part of a series of other standalone books that I will be reading.

Reece Richards is an heir to a hotel empire. He’s the ultimate playboy taking advantage of his wealth and status until one day he’s kidnapped and experimented on. He finally escapes but not before his body is transformed with electrical super powers.

Reece is hiding out in one of his families less trafficked hotels when he meets the new employee, Emmalina Crist. To say their meeting is electrifying is an understatement. Boy, the things Reece can do with his super power is smokin!

I’m a sucker for a super hero story. I like reading and watching people kick butt! There’s a lot of chemistry, a lot of butt kicking and the usual struggle of doing the right thing when Reece’s kidnappers track him down. This was a unique and fun story. ARC provided by NetGalley.

Reece was a known playboy and being a heir to a massive hotel dynasty had the means to be one. But something happened and after that he hadn't been with anyone since. But that might change now that he has met Emma. Emma has just started working at the hotel that Reece's family owns and Reece runs it. Sparks are starting to fly between the two and they can't stop their growing feelings.
This was a hot story line with a little drama thrown in for good measure!
Loved it and a great addition to this series.

I have been loving the Misadventures series and although I don't usually read superhero/sci-fi stories. This one peaked my interest and so I thought I'd give it a go. But unfortunately it wasn't for me. Although I did try four times to read. Each time getting a little further forward. Yet never really managing to get fully engaged in the story or with the characters and honestly I just found the whole story a little strange. However I did manage to read 43% of this story and what I did read up to that point was hot and certainly the superhero aspect intriguing. So that's why I decided to give this story three stars and I can certainly see fans of the author and genre enjoying this particular Misadventures story.

I don't normally like superhero books but this one might just have changed my mind forever!! WOW!! Talk about electricity.

If you are looking for a super sexy, steamy book, this one is for you. While more of a 3.5 star for me because well maybe it just isn't my thing...the superhero, fantasy stuff...but this author can write some superbly beautiful descriptive words indeed. "I'm obsessed with her beauty, slammed by her passion, floored by her purpose, consumed by her simple but sublime wonders." is only one of my favorite quotes in this book. Angel had a very special way with words that despite the "weirdness" of glowing fingers and superhero actions, has you swooning throughout the book. Steamy really doesn't cover it...it is more than that. And in the end...there was substance to the story...of rich, lost boy and "the one" who changes everything.

Another great book in the Misadventures series. I am typically not one that likes the fantasy/super hero type books and this being my first Angel Payne book on top of it I was a little leery when I first started reading it. However, much to my surprise this book was amazing! It pulled me in within the first few pages and I could not put it down. There was just enough of angst and suspense as well as the hot sexy scenes. The chemistry between Reece and Emmalina is off the charts and I loved the connection these two had through the story. Angel Payne as acquired another new reader and I can not wait to read more of her books.

Ugh....This book could have been so much more. Being a huge huge fan of Angel Payne I was expecting so much more. Here’s the thing it has the makings of an amazing book but, the storyline at the beginning is lacking in the sense of what prompted Angelique to kidnap and alter who Reece is. What all can he do now and how did they actually alter his body makeup. The first half of this book was hard to fallow but when looking between the pages the plot is great I just think it’s missing some very important details that would have not only given us the reader a reason to love Reece but a reason to add to Emma’s love and understanding as well..

The sex scenes are very good and very believable. The book is written in dual POV and my personal favorite.

Misadventures with a Super Hero is really good and very funny at the same time! Angel Payne puts the "super" in superhero with this one. There is a lot of hot sex scenes and craziness between Bolt-the superhero, (who really is Reece Richards, a billionaire) and Emma who is a new worker on the night shift of The Hotel Brocade, working in reservations and quality assurance along with Wade and Fershan, and Neeta, her supervisor.

One night Emma is introduced to Bolt-via live newsfeed of him catching robbers and thieves, stealing from cell owner's store, and then just disappearing as soon as he speaks with the police! The city of Los Angeles suddenly has become a safer place thanks to Bolt!

One night Reece comes down and when he sees Emma for the first time, he is immediately ensnared by her beauty and kindness. Emma is ensnared by his handsomeness and a feeling of electricity in the air. Reece asks for reports on their progress and asks someone to bring them up to his suite and leaves.

Emma is the one to bring the reports to him, and it is game on for these two! You will have to read this and see what happens, but I can guarantee you will be glad you read this. Especially when Emma realizes who she really is being wooed by!

This is the second standalone book in the Misadventures series that I've read and it was an okay read, much like the last one I've read. The characters were likable and the storyline was good. However I found the story slow at times and I just can't get into these stories as I hoped I would. I've come to realize that maybe this series just isn't right for me.

Firstly, the title drew me in, it was promising and I was genuinely really excited to read this story. It was different from most books I’ve read. It started off really funny and sexy but the super hero with a secret identity did not really work for me. I just didn’t feel a connection to the characters.

I couldn’t enjoy it so I did end up not finishing it off. I am sure other readers will love it but for me I couldn’t get into it. It just didn’t work for me.

Emma gave Reece something he hadn’t had before. Hope. The hope that things would be different, the hope that things would change and he would finally feel alive. His life is not what it once was, his days are consumed with going around saving those in his community from being victims of senseless crimes and running his families empire. Emma is the only thing that provides some relief and the desire for things to be more than they are. A real life superhero? When will he stop saving those around him and finally save himself?

Misadventures With A Super Hero is a unique story . The book begins with a wealthy man chasing a beautiful woman.This shifts into a supernatural realm and the adventure is on.. Reese , the main character, runs a hotel owned by his family. Emmalina , a main character, also comes from a well to do family. He has developed superpowers that he utilizes for the good of mankind. They fall for each other and develop a relationship.
This book surprised me from the beginning and at times felt disjointed. I struggled to finish this book and reach the HEA. I consider this to more an erotic read with a supernatural twist.

This was an okay read for me. It started out really good and I was hooked but then it fizzled out in the middle to pick back up in the end. The characters Emma and Reece were good characters that were hot together but in the middle of the story they and their storyline dragged a bit. Overall it was a fun read like the rest of the series just a bit longer than the others.

this book was not my typical choice of read, but as I've enjoyed the Misadventures series so far I thought I'd give it a go.

It had a strong plot with a lot of potential, but it felt a little drawn out in places.

Overall it was an enjoyable read, and if superheroes are you're thing, you'll enjoy it!

I have been really enjoying the Misadventures series so far and went into the book hoping for another amazing read. Misadventures with a Super Hero is a standalone as are all the books in the series. It took me a little while to get into the book and then I feel like I had a hard time following at various points. It is probably not a book I would typically go for, which may be why I had a little more difficulty staying engaged at times. This book definitely had a unique feel to it, compared to other books I have read. I am excited to read more books from this series, even though this one was not quite the book for me.

FINAL DECISION: Great premise. uneven execution. Parts of this story I really enjoyed, but parts were a bit confusing and uneven. Overall, I enjoyed the story because it was a fun ride.

THE STORY: Emmalina Crist needs her job working at a hotel because she is trying to make something of herself. Her new boss, Reece Richards, is a longtime playboy, and Emma knows that he is bad news, but can't resist him anyway. But Emma is also intrigued by Bolt, LA's newest superhero. Of course, Reece is actually Bolt and he has issues because he was given "super powers" against his will. The two have to navigate Reece finding out who and what he is.

OPINION: I really liked the premise of this story and it is really hot with Emma and Reece circling around one another in various locations in his hotel. I liked the characters and I really believed Reece's improving his life because of his "changes". I thought parts of the story were really funny and really sweet. This story is really an erotic journey as for the relationship between Emma and Reece (lots of insta-love/lust) with some superhero danger tossed in.

I did think that the writing was a bit uneven at times and the alternating points of view meant some confusion in the voice of the story. (There were not enough differences in the voices of the two characters to justify the different points of view).

This was a fun story and I would love to read more about these characters, but I think that a reader has to make a commitment to the story to really enjoy it.

WORTH MENTIONING: This is a novella that is told in alternating points of view.

CONNECTED BOOKS:  MISADVENTURES WITH A SUPER HERO is the third book in the Misadventures series. This series, however, are completely separate standalone books with no connections at all.
