Oh thank goodness! This book was fantastic and feel right back into the flavor of the other Weird Sisters novels! The one previously did not - I was not a fan. But thankfully this one did!

This is the second book in the spinoff series - well kind of a spin off, really it's just a continuation - of Weird Girls. This is Taran's second book.

I made no secret in my dislike of Taran's first book. Her mate Gemini really disappointed and lets be honest, without a romance to believe in and hope for the book fell a little flat.

BUT I AM SO HAPPY TO REPORT THAT THIS BOOK WAS AMAZING!!

Cecy Robson really brought her A Game. You get to really delve in Taran's character and OH MY GOSH THE PLOT TWISTS AND TURNS!!

You're going to love it.

So go read it.

Taran is back!

Gone is the hurt and vulnerable woman of the last book, Taran is back to being the quick witted, sarcastic, and confident woman we all know and love. The opening scenes in particular are in true Taran style and it paves the way for the generally more positive outlook she has for the rest of the book.

I love the Wird Girls books and I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It started and finished with a bang, but, and I can’t put my finger on why exactly, I felt it just dragged a bit in the middle. It could just be the side effect of a long running series and the inevitable ‘slow down’ that has to occur in some books. Whatever it was, it doesn’t stop me from highly recommending this chapter and I can’t wait to read the next book.

A word of warning though, you may require tissues at one point, but the book does end on a happy note.

If you’ve followed along with the adventures of the Wird sisters, you’ll thoroughly enjoy this latest chapter in the journey.

I read Cecy Robson's first book in this series a couple of years ago. I read the next two as fast as I could. Then every time the next book released, I ordered it and read it within a day. There was a lag between a couple, and I found a few other series, and I lost track of this series. When I came across the chance to review this book, I realized there were two books I had not read. So I quickly read those two, so I could catch up in this series. I think this book CAN be read as a stand alone, but it is a lot better if you read the whole series or at least the two books right before this.

The women in this series are as kick-ass as any I've read. The spotlight is on Taran in this book. She struggles with accepting that unconditional love is not only possible, but she is worthy of it. The passion she feels for Gemini is strong, and it will help her through anything if she remembers to trust and rely on it. Robson has created such life-like characters I feel a strong connection and would totally take them all out for a beer if I could.

The fast-paced action pushed me to read "just one more chapter" until I finished it. The world building is so solid; it was easy to SEE this book as if I was watching a movie.

I can't get enough of the Weird Girls! Of Flame and Fate is another fantastic installment in their world. Cecy Robson has created a great cast of characters and a storyline that sucks me in every time. I love reading about Taran, her sarcasm and sass. This one had me worried for some of my favorite characters, but it didn't disappoint. Not only can I not wait for Taran's next story, but I really hope that we get to see more of Emme and Bren and catch up with Shayna and her honey!

Ahh, the Weird Girls! This is one of those series when I remember exactly when I read the first book-in the middle of a DEA conference on drug diversion!! Sneaking a read in between learning about how meth is made and signs to look for to identify pill mills, but I couldn’t put it down! (One of the many times I am thankful for ebooks!) I was hooked once I started and was so happy since I was a bit late to the party, I had *2* novels plus the novella to binge on…but then I finished those and was heartbroken. Cecy, I need MORE! And look, now we are up to book 8, not including the novellas!!!

Now, those of you that read my bio know I’m Team Aric ALL the way, unlike the ‘hos that are Team Misha (cough, WW, cough!) But if I could pick a WG character I’d love to be, oh yeah that would be Taran without a doubt. The girl says what she wants, whenever she wants and doesn’t give a flying ‘f’ what anyone else thinks…especially Mrs. Mancuso! Theirs is actually one of my favorite relationships in the whole series, and exchanges like this are the reason why:

Of course, Mancuso doesn’t stop there. “Take your disgusting body and your even more disgusting suitors elsewhere!”

“I did. Your son-in-law says, hello,” I fire back.

“You whore.”

Gemini hoists me in his arms. “Damn it, woman, don’t you have children to lure into your gingerbread house!”

THAT is why I love Taran! But never fear, savvy reader-the whole gang is back! (Well, almost…I miss Danny.) The sisters, the wolves, the vamps and most importantly to this book, Destiny! (Or Trudehilde Radinka if you prefer.) I absolutely loved being able to get a deeper look into the best, or worst, dressed member of the WG family.

Taran is given the responsibility of protecting Destiny from the evil that stalks the Alliance members. The first big test of her bodyguard skills are at a concert held in Santa Barbara, where rock star Johnny Fate is performing. Of course, that means chaos ensues during which Taran finds out that Johnny is a Fate. Among the supernaturals, a Destiny and a Fate cannot exist at the same time without causing an imbalance, thus leading to the rise of evil.

Thus begins a wild ride of an adventure from California to South Carolina, battles among good and evil and of course, some comic humor provided by the Catholic schoolgirls! (If you’re reading this and don’t know who I’m referring to, get thee to Amazon pronto and one click this series, seriously!!) As always, there is some nookie along the way…including a final scene that is just priceless!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to Netgalley and CrushStar Media for allowing me early access to one of my all-time favorite EVER!! Now I have to sit back anticipating the next adventure while not-so secretly cackling over the fact that WW has to wait for this gem…or should I say Gem??!

Come on, it was funny!

Of Flame and Fate is 8th book in the Weird Girls series and the 3rd book focusing on Taran. It follows Taran Wird as she and her sisters try to protect their sister Celia and the world from impending magical doom (dun dun DUUUUNNNN).

The strength of the whole series and Taran's books in particular is her voice. Sassy and hilarious, Taran makes for a great narrator. She is so focused on her mission of protecting her sister and in turn, saving the world. The stakes are raised in this book, and Taran's tone and her determination parallels the rising tensions among the supernatural community as things spiral out of control. Through it all, though, is Taran and Gemini's relationship. Sweet, supportive, and always amusing (because their personalities are polar opposites), it is the guiding light in a world of crazy.

Cecy has set the groundwork for a complex supernatural world and conflict. With Fate and Destiny at odds (literally, as people with strong personalities to boot), the lore is deep and is only building with each book. As more and more is revealed, not only about Celia but about all the Wird sisters, readers can get more and more excited about where the story is going to go (and what the future holds, no matter which sister is your favorite!).

The book starts off with an action packed battle scene, and while I think they are well written and pull you in immediately to not only the conflict but also Taran's personality, I wish there were a few more intimate moments between Taran and her sisters (and Gemini, though those aren't really lacking) and less non-stop running around. I liked the fact that more is revealed in this book, though I kind of wished that it was revealed more throughout, rather than a lot of it towards the end. It would have tied the story together a little bit between the fight scenes and the ensuing chaos. While I love this series, Celia is still my favorite, and I found myself skimming over some of the fight scenes and not missing any crucial information to look for the presence of the other Wird girls.

Overall, Of Flame and Fate is a romping, action-packed, romantic story of Taran and her sisters. You have the read Taran's other books, Of Flame and Promise and Of Flame and Light to understand literally anything in this book. I also highly recommend reading the first five books in the series that star Celia, Taran's sister! If you are looking for a well-written, exciting, humor-filled paranormal novel for the fall, this series and this book is just the ticket.

I received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest and voluntary review. I was in no way compensated for this review.

Taran is back in style in Cecy Robson’s Of Flame and Fate! The Weird Girls continues the story with the future of all paranormal kind resting on the shoulders of Celia’s children. Taran charges herself of helping to protect her sister and is also out to protect Destiny, who is the one who can See Celia’s children’s future.

Things get kind of thrown through a loop when suddenly Fate makes an appearance into the ecosphere. Johnny Fate is a young musician trying to make a name for himself, but when he and Destiny collide, things happen! Nothing good comes from this as Destiny suddenly becomes very ill. Things then get very dicey as a lot hangs on Destiny so they can know what’s in store for Celia and her children. If Destiny dies, things might change and at the moment, change isn’t a good thing.

Worried that something might happen to Johnny as well, Taran decides to protect him while Destiny is being looked after. Johnny’s powers as Fate are a little unclear but protecting him is vital. And this is where the vampires and Misha come in! Misha has his own set of things happening as well, but those details are very clear just yet. Perhaps in the next book or so we might see more expanding on that.

I’ve pretty much loves this series since it began with Celia and her journey/story. And I love that she and Aric are still involved even though this is Taran’s turn to shine! Though I will say I am DYING for Emme to take the spotlight! Ever since that THING happened in Of Flame and Light I have been wanting to know more! Thankfully Taran does notice little details and we get a few more teases, but I’m really anxious to see more from it! I guess since Emme’s the little sister and I’m the younger sister, I feel a connection to her! Plus everything that’s happened in her cycle of things in romance makes me ache for her! Hence the reason why I NEED her book asap!!

But back to Taran, because she was always a favorite as well because of her fiery attitude (no pun intended…okay, a little intended!)! I’ve loved watching Taran grow as well! She and Gemini have worked out the bulk of their issues and now it seems they have the usual couple issues that tend to pop up regarding futures, safety and the like! I love that Taran still remains the strong and independent young woman that she’s been since the beginning!

The story starts off at a slightly slower pace, we’re thrust in the middle of an adventure that Taran is on and it was a smidge discombobulating at first. As it can be when you’re returning to a series after a year and lot of books in between since you last joined the characters. After that initial disorientation things get on track to the story at large and then things are smooth sailing! I’d say pacing wise at this point was spot on. It’s not all action packed and fast paced, but truly a perfect rate where we have moments of action, tension builders, romantic interludes and other story-building moments! Cecy’s got pacing down to an art!

The ending to this one was pretty exciting too! Nothing too cliffhangery. More like OMG moments and you’re just ready for the next Weird Girls book to come! Hopefully maybe with Emme at the helm, unless we still have one more Taran book! I can’t remember what Cecy said was going to happen in that realm of things! But anyway, The Weird Girls series is definitely one fans of Urban Fantasy should check out! It’s what I’d likely consider classic UF as you have an incredible plot coupled with romance! Plus, since this is Taran we’re talking about, you can bet on there being more than a few laughs! Of Flame and Fate was yet another amazingly GREAT read by Cecy Robson!

There are a lot of things I have forgotten from the previous book! Need to go back and reread. Lately Robson’s books just tear at your heart. Taren and Gemini’s relationship is on better footing now, but the emotional roller coaster isn’t over for Taren. Someone she likes is going to die and she can’t find a way to save her. Then she is betrayed by someone she likes and has been trying to help. Lots going on.

The battle of good versus evil is the theme that runs through the Weird Girls Series. Four sisters are super human but unique to the paranormal world of witches, were's and vampires. This series just continues to get more intense as the characters involved become a part of your heart and soul. Celia, Shayne, and Taran have wolf mates that try to protect them. Emme's romance to Bren is hinted at but is only a tidbit in this installment. Taran has the power of fire that has only intensified with her ancient arm replacement she calls "Sparky". Loved that Misha a powerful vampire was on the scene and that a vision into his past was shared. Lots of action and world destruction occur when Destiny and Fate meet. These two are rare powerful witches that should never exist during the same time. World leaders must dictate the protection of Fate when Destiny lies on her death bed. Intense narrative and intense heart make this impossible to put down. "A copy of this book was provided by CrushStar Multimedia LLC via NetGalley with no requirements for a review. The writing style of this book just wasnt for me. It takes place in first person, and the main character tells rather than shows. The opening of this book is also pretty chaotic and unnecessarily sexual. Did not finish this book due to the above.

Cecy Robson is and always will be one of my favorites. Just like the Weird Girl's series. Her writing is amazing and engaging as is her story. Although this is a supernatural world it feels like home!

Taran has gone through so many things in her life and it lands her as a babysitter to Destiny. Who she once feared and disliked to an extent but now see's who Destiny is and has come to love her. Though she still doesn't like her new mission she takes it seriously.

The Alliance has made it clear who need to be guarded and who should be the ones to do it. So when Fate and Destiny clash there is a new issues that has risen.

Johnny Fate is the male counterpart to Destiny and they cannot coexist. Their power clashes and fatalities occur. So when it comes down to who will survive Taran must make the ultimate decision.

I love that Celia and Aric make their appearances but Taran is the star of this show. The other two would definitely over shadow Taran and I'm greatful that they don't.

Emme and Bren definitely have something going on and Emme deserves her happiness. Though I can tell it is something they will work towards.

I can't wait for the rest of this series!

For Taran Wird and her sisters, Wird isn’t just their last name, the are weird. They’re not human, but they don’t really fit in the paranormal world either. When Taran is given the task of guarding Destiny, she’s not thrilled. When she’s told that when Destiny dies, her sister’s childrens’ destiny dies with them, she will do what she can to prevent that from happening.
Once I started this book, I couldn’t put it down. I absolutely love this story, this series, and everything this author writes. Of the four sisters, Taran is fast becoming my favorite, which says a lot considering all of the emotions I went through reading Celia’s story. After her first book, I was very happy that she and Gemini were on the right path together. The only thing I didn’t like about this story was that it was over before I knew it and now I’ll have to wait for the next one

Absolutely loved it and the cover is gorgeous. Taran is such a bad ass, and Cecy brings humor to the tale. Destiny was unique and created quite the stir. The storyline was intense as were the characters.
