Wonderful book with instructions to stitch superhero projects for your kids.......

This book is great - easy to follow instructions and well laid out with some great images to show you what you should be doing and the finished item - the book has 20 projects in five different themes - heroes, pirates, fairies, magicians, and animals - with colour palete suggestions for both boys and girls. Each project is marked with a level of difficulty - no sew, easy, or intermediate - and two full-size pull-out patterns sheets are included - excellent!!

What a fun book of ideas for parents or grandparents to create fun playwear for kids. While these may not be the elaborate costumes you see on kids at Halloween, having a chest of these fun capes, masks and wands would be a kid's dream. There are even patterns for matching capes for pets!

I've been a fan of Lane Huerta's Etsy shop Lovelane for some time. Her designs are just right for superheroes of the younger variety. She combines bright colors and simple construction for costumes that will hold up for the young adventurers in your life.

If you are a beginner sewist, or have never picked up a needle and thread, Superhero Sewing is a great place to jump right in. Like many crafting books, the first part of the book is an introduction to materials and tools, terminology and techniques. There are a handful of no-sew projects, but none of the sewing projects are overly complicated. The seams are straightforward, the templates are large and simple designs. There's nothing to fear here. (Okay, maybe the magician's top hat might be a little fiddly. But you were meaning to learn how to sew curved seams anyway, weren't you?)

This book is definitely geared toward beginners. If you're an intermediate or advanced sewist, I imagine you could probably approximate many of Huerta's designs without the instructions.

Huerta's designs fall under a few broad, popular categories: superheroes, pirates, fairies and dragons, magicians, and woodland creatures.

Unfortunately, my review copy was electronic, so I didn't have a chance to try out the pattern pieces and instructions. (Transferring template pieces from my iPad Mini seemed a bridge too far.) My impression of the instructions is that they are clear and easy to understand. All of the projects look like they could probably be completed by a beginner in the space of a couple of afternoon.

An easy to follow book full of cute projects with easy to follow instructions. Perfect for beginners or experienced sewers.

This was a really cute book, but way more advanced than my beginner sewing skills. Lots of capes for boys and girls and other projects. Some of the styles (like for the pirate) are not what I would call a traditional pirate costume but they are still cute.

Children love to play Superheroes. Now they can dress up as one. Superhero Sewing has very basic instructions and very colorful pictures. A simple cape, a magic wand, an eye patch can help a child's imaginative play. Children are even pictured helping with the accessories.

When your child says to you before bed - "Mum/dad tomorrow I have to go to school dresses as a ........... character" We have all had them, this book will get you out of that tight situation. The costumes are very simple and cover a multitude of occasions, but not only that, they will look fabulous and so very creative. Anyone with children will greatly appreciate this book. Make some just for fun - your kids will love them.

What a wonderful book, plenty of inspiration and easy to achieve for all levels of sewing ability.

I love "Superhero Sewing". This book is create. The details are helpful and makes it easy to create some wonderful play clothes for kids. These would be wonderful for Halloween costumes or play presentation costumes too. I recommend this to any parent whether you are craft and can sew or not. There are plenty of options for any of us that our kids will love.

Superhero Sewing by Lane Huerta comprises 30 pages of sewing "primer", followed by fun and easy to sew patterns for dress-up clothing in 5 themes. Paper patterns and templates are also supplied. There is even a section on painting fabric, which is especially fun and novel.

I liked how the contents pages are organised, which makes it easy to go to a specific garment - theme contents are grouped under a photo of the garments in that theme - so you can easily mix and match to make your own weird and wonderful play outfits.

The"primer" at the front of the book assumes no/very little knowledge of sewing, and explains all the techniques that will be needed in making these costumes, as well as listing must have and optional tools and how to use them. It also includes a useful glossery of commonly used jargon.

The patterns are quick and easy to make - key in today's jam-packed busy family life! There are simple to follow, step-by-step guides for each aspect of every garment, whether that be a cuff, hat, or cape. Many helpful photographs are included. Even if you have never picked up a needle and thread, you should be able to navigate your way through this guide with relative ease and bring hours of fun and smiles to the children in your life. There are even bits where sewing is optional, although it will always be the best way to ensure your creations survive to enthrall another day.

This book is adorable. The pictures are styled well, cute and simply. The instructions are easy to follow, and even as a very low-skilled sewer, I think I could make some of these items. The materials you need aren't expensive or many. The items they make in the book are simple and cute, and I would make this for my child, and recommend to any parent looking for fun dress-up ideas.

Superhero Sewing is a great book for any parent or grandparent of children who love dress up and superhero. Make your own fun clothes (even with the kids). This promotes and empowers kids to have fun, choose colors, etc. Fun easy patterns for first timer or seasoned veteran. Lots of tips and helpful hints.
Even some for pets!!
