This book has colorful, adorable illustrations and rhyming text which make it easy reading. It will help those littles who worry when people they know and love are away, as well as wonder about other someones and somebodies like them who are well, somewhere else. It helps teach them that there are people just like us all over the world, make them familiar with concepts of time, place, and distance.

Notes: Amazon’s page for this has teaching points for teachers, parents, and caregivers from the publisher which will definitely be useful.

This is a beautifully illustrated, sweet, rhyming book aimed at young children (3-5 years). It would make a lovely bedtime/storytime read along.

Everybody's somewhere, where are you?
I'm right here, I'm somebody, too.
Some are in the country, some are in the town.
Everybody's somewhere, up or down.

Author Cornelia Maude Spelman has a series of books about feelings and how we deal with them. This book is a little different. In cheerful rhymes it explains that everyone is somewhere, even when we can't see them. The book is colorfully illustrated by Alea Marley and the art coordinates and supports the text wonderfully.

I can imagine this book might well be helpful for children who are dealing with separation anxiety or sadness when a primary caregiver has to be away at work/deployment etc. It's a very short book (32 pages) which is exactly the right length for a story read-together.

Five stars for the art and text.

Understanding perspectives and recognizing personhood are cognitive milestones for any child. This darling book will help open discussions with little ones as they ponder WHERE someone is, even if they can’t see them at the moment. This book will also help them understand various prepositions and opposites. The author packs a lot into a little book!

The illustrations are richly textured with lots going on in each picture, but each picture is simply drawn so the picture isn’t overwhelming. I loved the vibrant colors! The rhymes are simple, and the meter is smooth. Very enjoyable to read without becoming sing-song-y.

I gratefully received this book as an eARC from the author, publisher, and NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review.

This little children's book was absolutely adorable, with such lovely and diverse artwork! I mostly loved the fact that people of all shapes, sizes, colors, etc., were represented in the art. The point of the story was to say that everyone is "somewhere", whether it's far away or near to us, and while it was cute, I'm not sure how much it would mean to a child. It felt a little pointless, but was lovely enough that it still deserves 4 stars!

This book is great to explain kids how everybody's
somewhere. Even if they are not present right here,
they're somwhere in the world.
They can be anywhere, doing something or the other.
Travelling, playimg, painting, sleeping, studying or flying.
Just like we're somewhere in the world.
Young kids wonder where people go when they're
not around and this book will help them understand
it in a simple way.

My daughter loved this book. She is 5 years old and she is at a stage where she is trying to explore and discover new things. This book was very cute and colorful and I love the fact that it was very inclusive. It was not that long but it had a wonderful message,

Very cute book for younger kids to have read to them. The pictures are very lovely and just as fun as the poem. I love the concept of teaching children that everyone is somewhere in the world even if they are not there with you at that moment. This might help children understand a situation where they are missing someone who is not with them at that moment. Maybe a parent, friend, or sibling. One of the illustrations shows a military member returning home. The illustrations are also very diverse. Various races are represented. There are people on a farm, in a city, one in a wheelchair, even a child on a dinosaur. Just an all around fun book with wonderful illustrations.

3.5 stars

This is a cute book, with lovely, colorful illustrations, that helps children think about the concept that everyone is somewhere in the world right now. It's a big idea even for an adult who thinks they have a decent idea of the scope of our planet, but this book doesn't try to bite off more than it can chew -- it just lays out some of the different places people can be, as well as differences between people -- a nice way to talk about perspective.

A great and important work that should be required reading from coast to coast.

This reads like a song! Its so cool. The cover is what really caught my eye, I just love the colours! This book is great for an 'anytime' read with little kids. They are sure to love the pictures and the little story about how 'Everybody's Somewhere'. Its a fun book and I can imagine it being one of those that are read over and over again. So if you love it when your child goes, 'Let's read this one AGAIN!' and your response is 'ohh no not again' then this book is a MUST!

Everybody's Somewhere has colorful illustrations and good rhythm and rhyme. If you have a little one with separation anxiety, Everybody's Somewhere is a great read aloud. Even if you can't see someone, they are still somewhere!

Everybody's Somewhere is cute, cute, cute. Perfect for a quiet time or bedtime read with a young child. Cornelia Maude Spelman’s story uses positional words, opposites and a poetic flow to convey the idea that is exactly what the title says, everyone person is somewhere. This can be a concept that the very young have never given any thought to within their limit perception of the world. By school age, this idea would be obvious to the them but not so much to the toddler or preschooler. Short enough to keep their attention and colorful to draw their eye to the illustrations. It features a variety of people, places, and situations.

My review copy is digital but this is one that I would think a hardcover copy would become a favorite to my youngest grandchildren. Simple but with some thought too.

Everybody’s Somewhere is a sweet sentiment to those in our life that we might not always have with us. While the message of the story is not something that all children can relate to at this time in their life, the stunning cover will draw the attention of many readers, both young and old, making it the perfect future bedtime story purchase.

This is a perfect children's story book to be read or to give as present to kids 7 and below. The illustrations drawn by Alea Marley are adorable; while Cornelia Maude Spelman's awesome story is a perfect match to it. My niece and godchildren would definitely love this! Thank you for the opportunity for giving me a chance to see this charming book.
