Another great one by Sloane Howell. I'm a big fan!

Scored tells the story of Matt and Kelsey. Matt is a baseball player and is currently trying to decide if he should stay with his team - the Rangers - or if he should uproot himself and go to New York and play for the Yankees. His best friend is his agent and is telling him that the money will be great in New York and that the Texas team may be stretching themselves thin trying to win him over. The chapters alternate between Matt's point of view and Kelsey's. Kelsey is Matt's agent's wife's best friend (yeah._) and she usually dates guys who play guitar and break her heart, not athletes. Matt's friends are hesitant to fix him up with her because they aren't sure how it will work out. Matt ends up talking Kelsey into going out on a date with him to a concert. He has already fallen hard for her, but she isn't sure what to do and is very reserved about their relationship. Meanwhile, Matt doesn't tell Kelsey anything about the contract negotiations he is in the middle of and how he may move halfway across the country. Kelsey ends up hearing about it on sports radio which obviously causes a major rift in their relationship. Will Matt leave Kelsey and his home to go play for the Yankees? Or will he try to win Kelsey back and stay with the Rangers despite it being less money?

I really enjoyed this book and Matt and Kelsey's sexcapades. I thought it was a lot better written romance novel than most others I have read - and then I realized the author is a male. Not sure if that's why.. but definitely looking forward to checking out some more of Sloane Howell's books in the future!

I received a free e-copy of this book in order to write this review, I was not otherwise compensated.

I really enjoyed this book. It is a fun look at a baseball player who is not stuck on himself. And he is interested in a normal, girl-next-door type, who loves music just as much as he does. And she tries to resist, but she can’t help but fall for him. This would be a great introduction to Sloane’s writing if you have never read his books before.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book in return for an honest review.

have a weakness for sports romances. Maybe it’s the sports lover in me who loves the action poured into a love story, but they are my KRYPTONITE. My ache. My addiction. MY ALL. Scored, the baseball sensation by Sloane Howell, is a ROMANCE HIT!!!

Matt Stallworth is sexy, swoony, strong, and sweet. He is a baseball god and the ultimate alpha. This hero is PERFECTION!!! I LOVED this hot baller so hard!!!

One gorgeous gal is not impressed with Matt, and couldn’t care less about his athleticism awesomeness.

Athletes are not Kelsey’s type. I plan to change that.

Kelsey Martin is beautiful, smart, and sassy. She gives as good as she gets. I ADORED and ADMIRED this spitfire of a heroine.

”You’re so beautiful, everything else in the world fades away when you’re in front of me.”

I SWOONED at the playboy-turned prince—trying to win over his princess—whose words shot stars into my eyes.

”I was jealous of your fingers, getting to touch what I wanted.”

I HEATED, my body burning from Matt’s deliciously dirty mouth. So HOT. So HEADY.

Matt Stallworth was going to be the beginning and the end of me.

I did not expect Scored to be soooo sweet!!! I did not expect to swoon so hard in Scored! I did not expect this player to be Mr. Romance! Matt, this hot and heart-wielding baseball god, is the perfect hero! Kelsey, the sassy beauty, is Matt’s match...both magical together!

”Me and you. Nothing can stop us.”

I FELT the MAGIC in Scored—this blend of smolder and sweetness—and it was one POTENT FIX. I morphed into lava, heat mixed with heart with words that made me MELT!!! I LOVED this sports meets love story!!! Scored is as sweet as it is smoldering ... a HEART-HITTING HOME RUN!!!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 hot and heart-hitting stars

Uck! I sadly had to drag myself through this book over the course of several months and multiple other books in between, I really disliked the heroin and did not feel the chemistry between her and the hero at all. There were so many scenes that I felt were not necessary to the story and started to just feel like filler. Throughout most of this book I just wanted things to keep moving along and had to start skimming through many times. Not a win for me,

First off, let me start by saying I love Sloane's style of writing. He writes like he's actually lived his stories. That being said, here's why I didn't give it 5 stars...

It took me a week to read it. The story was great but it didn't hold me captive. I think it's as simple as I'm not usually a reader of sports romances and couldn't relate. But I didn't want to give 5 stars incase it wasn't me. I also am not giving less stars because it is well written with very likable characters.

If you like the sports romances, read this and I think you'll be very happy!

3.5 stars. I received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review. It was good, but I wasn't wowed because the love story just wasn't all the way believable as something was just off. Matt, a professional baseball player was obsessed with Kelsey and she fell hard for Matt quickly, but seems that was her MO as her friend Jenny talked about Kelsey being tough which she was, but she got hurt so many time because of the various losers she dated. I almost started to skip through to get to the end, but read it all the way. I will still consider reading another book by this author though.

DNF - I honestly don't know what happened here. The writing style seems to have altered drastically following Bossed (which I enjoyed). TBH it seemed a little immature and sloppy - please refrain from using the word 'nips' it is utterly cringe-worthy.

It's rare for a romantic book to make me giggle and have all those romantic feels all at the same time, but Scored did that for me! I'm not sure if I had previously read any books by Sloane Howell, but I will definitely be checking some out in the future! This one was so good. Scorchingly hot, Scored was simply a love story. Add in the fact that it's a sports romance, and I knew I had to read it. So super glad I did!

Whoa, Scored by Sloane Howell definitely scored with me! A deliciously sexy, fun, snarky smart sports romance that you won't want to put down.

I loved how Kelsey didn't immediately fall for Matt's good looks and charm--that he had to work for it, something he hadn't had to do in a L-O-N-G time. I loved her snark, her wit and her ability to take no BS. She was perfect for Matt!

And Matt. Damn, that man. Smart, sexy, dirty talker who is as kind and generous as he is gorgeous. The between the sheets times with Matt and Kelsey were scorching! But the sex wasn't the only driver for their romance. They truly loved each other and that's what made them so magical.

I loved the characters within this book. You have Matt, a baseball player who won an MVP and thinks he can have any woman he wants with his best moves and chat up lines, then he meets Kelsey.........one woman who sees through him, she is sassy, snarky, witty and very rarely has a filter. I think he met his match.

Matt as a character was so different to other books I had read because he was down to earth, seemed normal and was humble about everything. Kelsey certainly kept him on his toes all the way through. I loved bossed the first book and cant wait to read any others that Sloane releases. I voluntarily reviewed this book as an advanced reader copy

What I liked about this story was Kelsey. She is sarcastic, flippant, meet you head on type of girl, someone I want to be friends with. So when Matt Stallworth, baseball playboy, takes an interest in her, she sets up all kinds of roadblocks at first shutting him down completely. This love story spoke to my heart and made me fall in love with them falling in love. Great writing.

Matt and Kelsey have the same friends in common, so Matt asks for a little help getting to know Kelsey better. The two have great chemistry and the sparks are flying. I love the dialogue between the two and the book is fast paced. Good read.

Major winner in my book!! I am so loving this author. She makes her characters so real and sassy and I love them 😍 I’m totally obsessed with sport romances and can’t wait for more books to come out by this author.
Thanks NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.

It took a few chapters for me to get into this book. This is the follow up book to "Bossed." If you didn't read it, you really won't understand where Ethan and Jenny come into this book as well as how Kelsey plays into this story with Matt.

Kelsey Martin has trust issues with men, and rightly so. Every boyfriend she's had has given her a reason, cheating, lying, etc. So when Matt Stallworth, professional baseball player, walks into the record store that she works in, she's pleasantly surprised and a bit on guard. She's not his type, she knows that. She's a music lover and her big mouth that has no filter makes most men run. There's also the fact that he's her best friend's, (Jenny), fiancee, (Ethan), best friend. So she doesn't want to cause problems for the couple. Yet there is something about him she can't resist.

When he asks her to go with him to her favorite concert, she can't resist. Realizing that they have more in common than she expected, she slowly let's her guard down.

Matt Stallworth is a professional baseball player who is used to beautiful woman throwing themselves at him. When he meets Kelsey Martin when Jenny's dad was sick, she didn't look twice at him and practically threw him out the door. Now that his best friend is engaged to her best friend, they have been around each other with their friends.

When he asks her out on a date, he wants to prove to her that he wants more than one night. When he finally gets Kelsey to let down her walls, he starts to put up his because he has been holding off on telling her something big. That something could make or break them.

I tried, I really, really tried, to get into Scored. But, I just couldn't. For a few reasons: Kelsey drove me nuts with her hot and cold, wishy washy, push Matt away attitude. Matt was a little boring. He wasn't the same interesting guy he was in Bossed. He was still a better character than Kelsey, sweet and sexy, but just not what I was expecting given how much I liked him in Bossed.

So because I couldn't stand Kelsey and Matt was kind of bland, I didn't believe in them as a couple, and wasn't able to get invested in their story. It's a shame, too, because I was so hoping at the end of Bossed, that their story was next and that it would be as great as Bossed. Alas, it was not to be and I'm bummed.

There is nothing sexier than a hot guy in a uniform with a dirty mouth. Matt Stallworth fits that description perfectly. He's also sweet, has a great taste in music and is a mama's boy. Kelsey Martin isn't your typical girly girl. She loves music and isn't into athletes. At least she wasn't until Matt came along.

If you've read Bossed, then you are familiar with Matt and Kelsey. Ethan and Jenny are their best friends and how they met each other. I've been waiting for Matt and Kelsey's book since I read Bossed.

They flirt with each other but both think it would be a bad idea to start a relationship. Kelsey has been hurt before and doesn't trust easily. Matt is a professional baseball player which makes things even more difficult. Their connection is too intense to deny though. Matt and Kelsey are HOT together and Matt's dirty mouth will melt your panties right off.

Sloane Howell hit this book right out of the park!
