I’ve been waiting to Scored since I read Bossed. While Scored is the second book in the series, it can be read as a standalone but I recommend to read both because Sloane Howell is amazing. Matt Stallworth is a professional baseball player. He’s used to having women throw themselves at him. Kelsey Martin isn’t like all the other girls fawning over him. Kelsey actually has no idea who Matt is until her best friend Jenny gets engaged to Ethan, Matt’s best friend. I love Kelsey and Matt’s chemistry and the way Matt continues to chase her even though she pushes him away. Their banter is hilarious and had me laughing out loud while reading. Scored is a sweet, sexy, and funny read.

Scored is my second Sloane Howell novel, and it was an out of the park, bases loaded, bottom of the ninth home run. Before I picked up this book, Ethan, from Bossed, was my star player by Sloane, but Matt just replaced him. Sorry, Ethan. Back to the minors for you. Kidding. Or am I?

Baseball innuendos aside, Scored is brilliant. Matt’s alpha male, me Tarzan, you Jane, attitude from the last book is completely softened when it comes to Kelsey. She’s been hurt in the past, and just so happens to be the best friend of his agent/best friend’s future wife. If that doesn’t spell trouble, I don’t know what else could. I may be mistaken, but I’m almost positive that there are relationship rules in place for this kind of things. Tisk tisk tisk. Matt. You rule breaker, you.

Anyway… back to the review. Every time I mention that man’s name, my mind trails off to his oral skills. I will let you do with that as you wish. *innocent smile*

Scored is by far one of my favorite books of 2017. It has everything that I loved with a sports twist. While I’m not exactly a baseball fan, I really enjoyed this book. It was a quick, fast-paced, dirty read that will be sure to delight fans and readers.

Though I do have to admit that my husband is a fan of the Evil Empire. Sorry, Sloane.

Be warned that when you open a book by Sloane Howell you are in for a grand slam! The latest sensation, Scored is no exception. The moment I read the first page, I knew I wouldn’t put it down until the very last page. Mr. Howell’s writing once again kept me up all night.

Kelsey Martin and Matt Stallworth have more in common than shared friendships. These two have been avoiding the chemistry that ignites when they are around each other and even though their interactions have been limited, they can’t stop thinking “what if”.

Kelsey has been burned by love and just wants to live her life “drama free”. That includes not gaining the attention of the sexy baseball player who is now filling the doorway of the record store she works at.

Matt Stallworth has no other women on his radar but one. He can’t shake the beautiful eyes and body of the woman who happens to be the friend of his best friend’s wife. He is one who fights for what he wants and doesn’t stop until he gets it.

This sports romance is full of sexy moments, dirty talking and lots and lots of O’s. Oh yeah, and the storyline is all baseball – which I love. Scored is told in dual points of view and even with all the sports talk, you’ll be flying through the pages to find out what will happen with our couple.

Grab this latest “out of the ballpark” story of love, life and life changing decisions.

I had so much fun reading this book. Yeah, Matt's a guy's guy, but underneath beats the heart of a true romantic. Kelsey is every shade of insecure there is - not only has she been burned before, but she's understandably intimidated by Matt's superstar celebrity status and all that goes along with it. But these two - oh my, they really bring out the best in each other. And the dirtiest. Whew! The steam factor is off the charts! Their playful banter is hilarious, the way they open up to each other is endearing, and their dirty talk is downright naughty. As secondary characters, Ethan and Jenny (from Bossed) are perfect and Matt's friendship with Ethan is priceless. Twilight was a hoot - I loved his conversation with Matt - and even I know enough about baseball to get the side jokes. There's not a lot of angst in this book, just a sweet and spicy love story full of surprise romance and a beautiful HEA. I loved everything about this book. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This is the second in a series one I could't wait to read, however it was not what I expected. Bossed was such a great story that I was expecting a spectacular follow up.
Matt and Kelsey do make a cute couple. Cuteness isn't what I expected. I expected another down and dirty book with a gray story with that said, this had a story had a plot and it was decent. Reading about them falling in love was sweet. Kelsey is a cool chick and Matt has to work hard to get her to date him. It did have its humor as well.

Scored takes place after Jenny and Ethan’s story in Bossed. Kelsey is Jenny’s best friend and Matt is Ethan’s best friend as well as his client, with Ethan managing Matt’s professional baseball career. So it’s natural that Kelsey and Matt have become acquainted, especially since they’re both helping plan Jenny and Ethan’s wedding, but Matt wants more than an acquaintance and occasional encounters. But Kelsey is a prickly gal and is dead set against dating a professional ball player.

The advance copy I read of this book is my first by this author and, holy hotness, does he ever know sexy! Great storyline, of course, with plenty of things happening to keep the reader’s attention, and authentic, entertaining, perfectly flawed and a little bit vulnerable characters whose chemistry is down right incendiary! With laugh out loud moments and scorch the kindle sexy scenes, Matt and Kelsey’s story is great fun and absolutely worth the read!

Kelsey is the down to earth, sexy, music lover who likes her life as is. Matt Stallworth is the Pro Baseball player whose as opposite from her as possible. But common ground helps them start something neither of them expected. While trying to balance life changing decisions and their best friend's wedding can opposites really find their balance...
This is the second book in the series and you should definitely read them in order or your going to have loads of spoilers. Pretty light, flirty read with enough steamy times to keep you fanning yourself.

Pro-baseball player Matt finally meets his match with indie record store clerk Kelsie. Can his attraction win over her hesitance? Can her past be laid to rest with his reassurance? Can snarks and snips and lust be combined to form a lasting relationship? These are the questions you can expect to be answered in Scored

I have read Bossed and I had a high expectation for Scored and it did not disappoint! This was such a sweet, romantic and sexy story! Mathew and Kelsey were complete opposite and that made this sport romance story more realistic. Once Kelsey stopped their mutual attraction their chemistry was off the hook. Loved the sweet side of Matthew and the secondary characters are a hoot. If you enjoy reading sports romance that has a smoking heat level than this is a must click for you. A mix of baseball and music!

Baseball star Matt Stallworth needs to make a decision between two huge multi-year contracts but his attention always goes back to Kelsey Martin. The higher contract would set his family and charities up for a very long time but that would mean leaving the team that he had spent his entire career. The lower contract would mean staying where he was and being able to date Kelsey Martin.

Kelsey Martin loves music and finding out that Matt loves music to makes it a little harder to stay away from him. Matt doesn’t tell her about his contract negotiations and maybe leaving town to move to a new team which would make it hard to date and see where their attraction is going.

I read Scored before reading Bossed and reading in order adds to more understanding of the characters it wasn’t needed because it very much stands alone. I’m looking forward to more by the author.

I absolutely adored this sweet & sexy romance! This is the first book I've read from this author and I was completely captivated. Matthew and Kelsey seem to be complete opposites. They met thru their best friends and have enjoyed flirty encounters for awhile now. But Kelsey never thought that the hotshot, sexy, ballplayer would seriously be interested in her. That is until the day he decided he wasn't wasting anymore time. He was going to show her he was worth the risk, and make her his. But Kelsey doesn't make it easy on him and what will happen when the hometown hero might be traded? I loved how sweet, thoughtful and caring Matthew was. He wasn't going to let Kelsey push him away, when he knew they were perfect together. They had so much more in common than they first believed. They had fun together and their chemistry was explosive. I really enjoyed this fun & flirty, heartwarming, sexy romance. I will definitely check out more from this author.

This is my first read by Sloane Howell and I can guarantee it will not be my last. I instantly took to his writing style. I loved the character development, description, steam, romance, the flow of the story, all of it. Is this a unique storyline - no. BUT, it does have everything I look for in a romance and more. I was addicted to the characters and pulled in to their story. I felt their emotions and loved right along with them.
There is no real heavy or gritty angst in Scored, but there is some relationship drama to keep things real, though. So it’s the perfect book if you are looking for a sweet, steamy, romantic get-away from reality.

This was my first book by Sloane Howell. It's another sports romance but I enjoyed it. Matt is a main character I found it easy to root for. I will definitely be checking out more of Mr. Howell's work in the future. I received an Advance Copy of this from NetGalley and am providing an honest review.

After finishing Bossed I was very excited to hear there was another Stand alone book from that universe coming soon and Sloane did no disappoint!

Matt Stallworth is young, hot and rich - and a professional baseball player he must be living the dream right? While he certainly enjoys his life he is also a regular guy hoping to find a regular girl to spend his time with. Enter Kelsey Martin. Kelsey is besties with Matt's best friend's fiance and from minute one he is hooked. Kelsey is cute and kind with awesome taste in music and a huge wall around her heart. She is not about to let a man she perceives as a giant player close enough to hurt her.

While he slowly breaks down her walls, Matt risks their whole future by not coming clean about what is going on behind the scenes in his life. They have amazing chemistry in and out of the bedroom and the witty dialogue kept me laughing.

I can't wait to read Sloane Howells next book!

Sloane Howell writes a funny, endearing love story that is both steamy and witty. Kelsey and Matt know each other...vaguely through their respective best friends Ethan and Jenny (from Bossed, also by Sloane). Kelsey has had no luck (or all bad luck) in the relationship department. She loves music and tends to go for those musician types. She does not do athletes. Matt Stallworth is a big deal with the Texas Rangers and he most certainly has his eye on Kelsey.

Matt has a few secrets and some big decisions to make. Kelsey does not trust others...and she most certainly doesn't trust herself around Matt. Is it possible for these two to turn it around from acquaintances to forever?

I had tears at some points...some from laughing so hard and others from just the shear beauty of the moments described. I love Sloane's ability to really use his words to drive a point home. "I knew deep inside what was about to happen. A train wreck. And I was waving my ticket as it rushed into the station with a ton of luggage on the platform waiting to hop on with me." Haven't we all felt like that deep inside when embarking on a new relationship? He describes it perfectly with this quote.

3.5 stars. I have somewhat mixed feelings about this book. I liked the overall story and the characters. I liked their chemistry at the beginning of the book but some things seemed a little off to me and I wish the story and relationship (not the sex) had been developed a little more.

I mean you had me at hot guy in a baseball uniform...duhhh and add that he is a filthy talker...home run baby!
Matt might be a filthy talker, but he also knows how to treat a girl, esp a girl who likes to run from relationships like Kelsey does. Kelsey isn't like other girls...she does't fawn over Matt, and she does't go for the whole athlete thing. Personally I think she is unstable...I mean athlete pretty much equals hot AF and I don't trust anyone who does't think so...I mean HELLO to those tight pants that baseball player's wear...lord have mercy looking at those sculpted buns does something to me. Wow ok sorry I got side tracked for min...back to Matt and Kelsey. Oh my gee...when Matt grabs Kelsey's face you just know all is right with the world...if Matt grabbed my face I would totes make out with him so hard...he is def book boyfriend material ;)
So to summarize this book has a hot guy that wears tight pants to work and he has a big D and he likes to make out...sign me up!
