This informational text about baby koalas would be perfect in a science lesson. Lots of great information and pictures. My students would love to use this book for research. The text is well-written and easy to understand.

They really go all out these days to produce such eye-catching beginner reader books for children that are as much fun to read as they are to flip pages to see the outstanding photos. Informative in a quick easy style. A joy to look through, I mean, who doesn't love a Koala bear?

Meet a Baby Koala, by Jon M. Fishman is an entertaining and informative book that features koalas.

Throughout this book, there are interesting animal facts about koalas intermixed with brilliant and adorable full-color photographs. Also, there are one page sections titled as Fun Facts, Glossary, Further Reading, and Index.

This book is a part of the Baby Australian Animals series in the Lightning Bolt Books collection. According to the back cover copy: "With high-energy designs, exciting photos, and fun text, Lightning Bolt Books bring non-fiction topics to life!"

Meet a Baby Koala is geared toward children, particularly kindergartners to third graders.

Note: I received this book from NetGalley, which is a program designed for bloggers to write book reviews in exchange for books, yet the opinions expressed in this review are my own.

This is a cute, simple non-fiction book about Koalas. It gives some basic information about Koalas accompanied by some nice photographs showing them in their natural habitat as well as the birth of a baby (probably in captivity). The author also talks about the issues of the environment and the shrinking areas for Koalas to live. At the end of the book are some more facts as well as resources to find further information. This is a good beginning reader non-fiction book for interest as well as a beginning point for further investigation. Nice put together. Could be used in primary/early junior classrooms or in a public library.

This is a nonfiction book for children about baby koalas. It is an ok book, but it looks self-published and is lacking polish in both writing and layout.
