This book will change your life, if you let it. Miskov uses Peter's experience of walking on the water to encourage us to keep our eyes on Jesus, to grow closer to Him, yield our hearts, and take the risk of stepping out of the boat.

I don't think I have ever read a book where the author is so passionate to see us focused on Jesus. Miskov puts legs to her passion. She has included “activations,” suggestions at the end of each chapter, practical ideas to implement her teaching.

Some of her insightful teaching includes developing a secret place to spend time with Jesus. She writes about storms and how they give us the opportunity to know Jesus better. She shares how perseverance is required to get to what is greater on the other side. She shares many of her own experiences with honesty, revealing lessons learned. I really liked her comments about social media. She discovered that “life is too short to waste it looking down all the time.” (Loc. 991/2395)

Miskov reminds us that Jesus gave Peter the opportunity to change the world, as He does to us. As long as Peter remained focused on Jesus, he could do the impossible, as can we.

I highly recommend this book. Miskov's passion is contagious. This book will change your life, if you let it.

Food for thought: “All God wants from us is passion.” (Loc 2050/2395)

I received a complimentary egalley of this book from the publisher. My comments are an independent and honest review.

What a practical book on how to trust in what Jesus tells us to do and how to carry it out by His Holy Spirit! The author uses the instance when Jesus told Peter to “walk out on the water to Him,” to show how we as believers can start out by believing what God tells us to do and then we get scared and quit.
Jennifer poignantly uses events that happened in her walk of faith to show how we can trust God, know Him intimately and use our faith in Him to share the Gospel and believe that God can do miraculous things for us and others!
She also shares a story about knowing that God would provide a ticket for a trip to London - so she went to the airport without a ticket and she received enough money and a ticket while at the airport!
Your faith and love for God will increase as you read this book.

I am reviewing a copy of Walking On Water through Chosen Books and Netgalley:

In this book Jeninifer A Miskov talks about miracles, we are reminded that Peter never set out to walk on water, what he did do was set out to be closer to Jesus, despite the storm.

The author talks about moving to Redding California after getting her PH.D with the help of her mentor Heidi Baker but when she came she had no money. She talks about making it through that hard time.

In order for Peter to walk on water, and come to Jesus, the author reminds us that Peter had to completely surrender himself to God.

What about Jesus compelled Peter out of that boat, made him step out on that water, knowing he would be safe?

We are encouraged to regain focus through silence, to listen to what the Lord is telling us.

We are reminded too that it was not Jesus’es idea for Peter to step out on that water and walk to him, but it was Peter’s idea.

I give Walking on Water five out of five stars!

Happy Reading!
