Sophie and Ryder were perfect! The beginning was probably my favorite part since it was so funny, but the whole thing was fabulous. I cried when he broke it off and cheered when she came back.

This was a decent story and I somewhat enjoyed both the hero and the heroine, Ryder and Sophie. However, nothing really stood out making it a great book.

With her professional reputation in tatters—and her boss in jail—Sophie Kincaid has no choice but to move to small-town Revival, Illinois, until the dust settles, where her best friends have arranged a job and a house for her. For six months, she’s pretty sure she can handle anything—even her new landlord and neighbor, Ryder Moore. A magnetic 6’4” deputy sheriff, Ryder’s good looks and habit of flirting with intent to seduce are an infuriating distraction—and, to Sophie’s alarm, an undeniable temptation. Ryder knows Sophie’s type—entitled city girl—and it’s not one of his favorites. Add in her snarky sass and her propensity for trouble and she’s not exactly his ideal tenant. But something about the curvy little blonde fires Ryder’s imagination, not to mention his desire. Soon enough their verbal sparring seems like a prelude to something much more physical—and far more pleasurable. Is love right around the corner—or just right next door?
This was a decent read, an opposites attract story similar to what you would find on the Hallmark channel. I really liked Ryder but Sophia got on my nerves a bit. Overall an enjoyable story. I recommend.

About three pages into the first chapter of this and I knew I wasn't going to click with it. Terms of endearment for people you've NEVER MET are a HUGE turn-off for me, and the hero does that immediately. I stuck it out for a few more chapters, but no - sorry - this one just isn't for me.

I have loved this series since the beginning, and I absolutely loved this story! Ryder is sexy, demanding, sweet, and caring all in one. Sophie made my heart break a little with how she just couldn't understand what was going on because of her past. And of course, the supporting characters were as awesome as ever!

I loved this one! Sorry I didn't review it earlier! Sophie is a hoot! She is a lot of energy in a very small package. Loved the interplay between Sophie & Ryder. If you like stories with lots of humor along with the sweet and sexy, you will like this one.

I had no idea that this was part of a series and I wish I read the first four first. I love see characters interacting through the series and by jumping in the middle I missed a bit of that, but don't worry, I'll be going back and reading all of them. I'm a fan of small town books and Revival sounds amazing.

Sophie and Ryder were just too cute together. While they definitely got things started in a hurry, it didn't take anything away from the real attraction you could feel between them. The struggles of trying to be together/not together because Sophie is moving back to Chicago felt real. While I figured they were going to get their happily ever after, I'm glad they got the right happily ever after.

Jennifer Dawson sure knows how to write a hot book! I fell in love with Ryder (your typical strong, silent type whose silent waters run deep) and Sophie was a firecracker that had me laughing throughout the book. Your classic opposites attract story but one that was fun and light to read. Can't wait to read more from Jennifer Dawson!

I voluntarily read an advanced reviewers copy of this book

I absolutely loved this book. Ryder and Sophie had an instant love hate relationship that continued to sizzle until it turned into an love love relationship. The moment that gets me in this book is when someone has to make a very big decision and completely leaves the other one heartbroken...it had me crying and biting my nails waiting to see what was going to happen.

Overall if you couldn't tell I loved it!

5 - "I think I like him..." Stars!

The fifth book in Jennifer Dawsons; Something New series gives us, dirty-sexy cop Ryder Moore and Girl-About-Town Sophie Kincaid’s story.

The one thing that always strikes me when I pick up a book by this author is how I always forget just how much I enjoy her writing. Head Over Heels was just such an entertaining read.

Her vagina had terrible taste in men and notoriously steered her wrong, which was why she’d stopped listening to it years ago…

Sophie has had to up sticks from Chicago, and pretty much leave her life behind for small town Revival, Illinois after her job and subsequently implodes due to an embezzling boss, making it pretty clear from the off to anyone who will listen, she is not staying, but more on a hiatus while the dust settles, she then fully plans to move back to Chicago and resume her old life. Two things she didn’t figure on though are her hot, sexy, dirty-talkin’, and down-right delicious neighbor…

"It’s like he was custom designed to bring out the slut in me…"

And the fact that the town, and it’s people actually start to feel more like home than where she believes her home to be does, and she basically ends up questioning everything that in the past she has thought she needs to live a happy and fulfilling life. Love especially because that has never seemed to stick in the past, but even though they get off to a rocky start, more due to her denial than anything, it is pretty obvious that they both mean more to the other than just a six-month fling.

"You might leave, but you’re sure as hell not going to forget me when you do, and we both just have to accept that."

Ryder, well what can I say, I think the author must have stepped into my head and took every attribute that I find sexy in a guy, as well as some I didn’t even realize I found sexy and put them into one awesome, hot package. Can’t lie, I spent most of the book green with envy that Sophie was getting all the action with him, because he was just deeeeeeevine!

"You’re going to be the death of me."

"You need to stop kissing me."

"Believe it or not, I’m trying..."

Loved this book, I hope the author has more in store for the series in general in the future.

"You’re a part of me now, and there’s nothing I can do about it."

3.5 stars

I liked this one as I like all of Dawson's books, with the cute couples and fun group shenanigans. I always love seeing the couples from past books show up in this series, and I was not disappointed.

I do wish that I had enjoyed it more. This series has consistently been one where I devour the books, but I noticed that this one seemed a bit...repetitive in some of the intimate scenes and the dynamic was pretty similar to the novella before this one.

Sophie Kincaid sees her career going up in flames as the FBI has raided her bosses office and now have also lead her away. This is the way the book opens. A month later she has left Chicago and is moving in to a place in a town Revival Illinois. With a new job working for the city. She now meets her landlord and immediately is sassy and rude. Her landlord is Ryder Moore and he thinks it is funny the way she is acting towards him. She is attracted to him being that he is 6’4” and she is a blond and sassy. It continues when she is pulled over one night for speeding and who is that sheriff, you guessed it Ryder. Then a few days later at the house when she cannot get the garage door open and he is watching waiting for her to ask for help she goes inside and grabs her sledgehammer and takes care of the door herself. This is the way this story goes on. There are so many great scenes and the heat between these two characters you want them to them to be together but you don’t know if they will be. She wants to go back to Chicago and he wants to live in the small town. Many good story-lines and overall a very good, and good characters throughout this story.

When the FBI investigates her boss and he ends up in jail, Sophie Kincaid finds herself fleeing Chicago where no can judge her about her professional reputation being in tatters. Working in the small town of Revival, Illinois, should be perfect to get her career back on track, but Sophie never imagined she'd fall in love. So when her six months are up and it's time to head back to Chicago, will Sophie be able to leave or will she give up everything she's worked so hard for because of love?

I love this series, and this story was absolutely fantastic because of the feisty heroine and her need to prove that she's immune to the hero since she believes he's just like a guy that once swept her off her feet and then broke her heart. Will she win the battle or will Ryder prove difficult to resist with his charming ways and his need to keep her off balance with his terms of endearment that annoy Sophie a lot? The way this story started had me feeling sorry for the heroine because she doesn't deserve what happened to her due to her boss being a greedy idiot. However, in saying that, this book became even more captivating once the hero and heroine came met, because of Sophie's reaction towards the hero. She's snarky, feisty and had me smiling due to her friends wondering what is wrong with her.

As for the dialogue, it was highly entertaining and a wonderful combination of intense moments and playful banter that had me loving this couple's interactions and the matchmaking of the secondary characters. Moreover, the hero and heroine have so many great qualities that made them relatable and likeable. Sophie is hard-working, independent, feisty and I liked how much of a challenge she provided for the hero. I also liked how determined she was to keep her distance from the hero, even though with their chemistry it seemed inevitable that she'd give in, which is proven by the fan-your-face sex scenes. While the hero, he's hard-working, good to his family and so charming and confident that I could not get enough of him. Certainly, it's hard for Sophie not to engage him when he's so irresistible and charismatic; a man that isn't easy to ignore with his affable personality, which makes him a good cop.

Overall, Ms. Dawson has penned another marvellous read for this series where the chemistry was brilliant; the secondary characters are wonderful with their advice and matchmaking; and the ending had me almost crying happy tears because of the decisions the hero and heroine were willing to make to achieve their happy ever after. However, it was the decision one of the main characters made that had me smiling, because how could they possibly leave behind those they love and everything they've worked so hard for. I would recommend Head over Heels by Jennifer Dawson, if you enjoy small town romances or books by authors Jill Shalvis, Lauren Layne, Jessica Lemmon and Candis Terry.

I enjoyed this read. The hero is a great guy — hot. responsible, knows what he wants and goes after it. What’s not to like? The heroine is looking for love. She’s never really felt loved by the people in her life. She has great friends who love her, but that special kind of love like you might get from a husband or parents, the unconditional kind, has never been hers.

The H and h start out with a no strings affair with an agreed upon end date. As these things often do, what they have becomes more. This is were the heroine got on my nerves a tiny bit, because she was a bit of a pitiful Paula who was so wrapped up in insecurities that she almost lost the perfect guy. Thankfully she gets over herself. Her foolishness is why the story loses a star for me. Yet, all in all, it’s a great read and I enjoyed it.

I received an ARC of this book, from the publisher, via NetGalley, in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I thought this was a cute book. I loved the tension between the two characters and how they both acknowledged what was going on between them. I didn't like how both professed to be "wild". Both really had no basis for it. Plus the heros random stalker story seemed out of nowhere. Overall, I love this service and can't wait for the next one!
