Despite the annoying title, I found Take the Bai Road to be pretty darn good. Told in a somewhat breezy fashion, the author takes us on quite a ride, from a smuggling ship, through cartel Mexico, and then up to Seattle where North Korean terrorists black almost the entire state out. They are working, surprisingly, for a United States Senator, Justin Song, an emigre from North Korea who it turns out is still loyal to that government and has arranged the terrorism for his own purposes. But, Bai Hsu has other plans. Working undercover without Agency protection, he outsmarts everyone and survives many a battle. The final question: Can he stop Senator Song?
Thanks NetGalley for the ARC.
