Twice-buckled American Extreme Bull Riders tour world champion Kane Wilder is riding high at the top of his game, rolling in fame, adulation, women, and money. When he hits his hometown of Phoenix, he’s sure of another win. Nothing shakes his confidence and focus–until he comes face-to-face with his former friend and lover, Sky, holding the hand of a toddler with his eyes and trademarked dark curls and smile. Suddenly winning is about more than sticking his ride for eight seconds.
I’m not a big fan of second chance romances. Secret baby stories are a hit or miss for me. I don’t like it when one of the main characters is a bed hopper. Yes, this book was all three but the description made me want to give it a try. Unfortunately, I really didn’t like either of the main characters nor their situations. DNF.

This story moved a bit slow for my taste but was overall enjoyable.

I guess I'm in the minority, again, but I did not like Kane, either the book or the character. I could not connect to Kane and Sky's story, I didn't like either of them, and I never felt their connection to be the strong, forever kind of connection that great love stories require.

Sky has a secret, a secret she kept from her first and only lover, Kane, a professional bull rider. And he will meet that secret, head, on when he comes crashing back into Sky's life after having been absent from her life for 4 years. You see, Sky had spent a summer when she was 19 falling in love with her brother's best friend. When he dropped her off at the airport, dismissing her from his life casually, she figured she'd never see him again. Why would she? After all, she had told him many times she loved him and he never said it back, never acted as if she were anything other than a hot f*** for the summer. So, when she kept a huge secret from him, I absolutely, 100%, empathized with her and completely understood why she didn't tell him. That doesn't mean that she shouldn't have told him, because she absolutely should have, but I understand why she didn't.

And yet, when Kane comes back into her life, he seriously cannot comprehend why she didn't tell him her secret. He's so angry and he takes it out on her for the rest of the book, right up until almost the very end. Even after he tells her they'll start over, no secrets, no more anger, he still holds it over her head, is still mad at her and isn't sure he can forgive her. Even after she explains to him her reasons, which, admittedly, were kind of lame, he doesn't accept them and doesn't get over how mad he is at her. He demands everything from her, though, and never reciprocates. "You demand everything from me--every thought and fear and hurt--and then you just stand there pretending that you're perfect." And that is what really frustrated me about him. He was such an a** **** with no understanding of other people, he was completely selfish and self-absorbed. I love me an alpha man, which he is, but that alpha has to have some kind of softness to him, otherwise he's not bearable, and Kane never displayed that, not until the absolute end. To me he was the worst parts of an alpha and none of the good parts. Yeah, no thanks.

And then there's Sky. Oh God, she's the worst kind of heroine - a complete and utter doormat with no spine until the end when she finally, finally started standing up to Kane, started standing up for herself. Most of the book she literally whispered her words, seriously! If I did a word count of the word "whisper" it would probably be in the 100 range. God, there is nothing I hate more than a spineless doormat, female or male. I absolutely cannot stand that type of character. And that is exactly what Sky is for about 99% of Kane. Yuck.

About the only part of Kane I liked were Montana (the person) and Colt (Kane's brother). Everything else is a no go for me. I didn't like Kane, I didn't like Sky and I didn't like their story. Sigh...

Sky walked out and never looked back and Kane couldn’t forgive her for leaving. Then destiny knocked. In a form of a piece of art work that looks too similar to Kane. So, Kane taking the bull by the horn went to the gallery and got a bigger surprise than was expected. His old friend and lover holding a toddler’s hand, who also looks and a lot like him. Now, Sky has a lot of explaining to do.

Kane is book #6 of Sinclair Jayne American Extreme Bull Riders Tour series. Whereby this is part of a series, this book can be read as a stand-alone. Since this would be my first book by this author, I can’t really tell you much about how this compares with her other works.

Kane is a second chance romance. About what happens in a relationship when both parties fail to communicate on how they feel.

This was an okay book. If you are into second chance romance then this book would be just right for you.

For some unknown reason, especially considering I’m not all about angst and hate stupid communication issues, I occasionally get in the mood for a book with a secret baby in it. But only as long as there is a somewhat legit reason for the father not knowing or the heroine is so kickass I can get past it. When Kane popped up on NetGalley the mood was right so I jumped on it. Unfortunately for me it was all over the place and not in good ways. Sigh.

Sky was weak, neurotic, probably the least sharp tool in the shed of all and an emotional basket case. Plus, her reasons for keeping her secret from Kane were complete and utter bullshit. Seriously, I could not stand this chick and felt sorry Kane for being stuck with her and also for cute little Montana because her mother was whacked.

After what Sky had done to Kane, I couldn’t believe what he came up with as a solution. Instead of finding the closest judge, he should have found a good lawyer and gotten custody because, again, this woman was nuts. I guess that wouldn’t have made much of a good romance story, well, unless it included a different heroine. That would have worked.

The author also kept throwing in all these little plot bombs that fell flat for me mainly because we kept getting told things instead of being shown. In fact, this is another story that starts in the middle. This is possibly because this is not the first in a series, but all the history that is shared between the couple is shared through them talking about it, and there is a lot of it. I kept asking myself “Why am I being TOLD this? I want to be shown it as it happens, dammit!” (and yes, I wanted to stomp my foot as I typed that, but that’s tough to do sitting in a recliner).

But the absolute straw that broke the camel’s back was the freaking ending. I cannot begin to describe how bad it sucked. View Spoiler »

So yeah, this didn’t work for me at all.

Being young and full of dreams can be a wonderful thing...but it is the being young which can cause all the pain and miscommunication....Because when we are young and on the brink of becoming adults, we think we have learned so much just by getting there. So naturally, we think "Our Decisions are the Right Ones..For the Good of Everyone..."

Wrong...and you know how that goes...

Kane (American Extreme Bull Riders Tour Book 6) by Sinclair Jayne is the latest entry to this series that has taken over my reading time. When a new book pops up, I am compelled to read it.
All of the books are about these fearless men who ride the circuit and just from reading these stories, I have a huge respect for what they do and how dangerous it is.

Kane is at the top of his game. He is consistently winning and has become the face of the franchise. He started out up and coming like all the other cowboys, but as he learned the ways of the bulls, what to look for in how they moved, how to move his own body and stay above and centered...things started to fall into place.

It also didn't hurt that he was Damn, Good Looking... with eyes so different and amazing, you would never forget seeing them... the crystal blue, sliver gray...unique and oh, so captivating. Match it with dark hair and a body lean, long, muscular and perfectly proportioned and you had some kind of carved statue ambling on this earth. But Kane wasn't just a pretty face and body... nope, Kane had a nerdy brain... always contemplating his next move. He loved numbers and had been putting up with the marketing/publicity machine for years in order to sock away all the funds he needed to make his goal a reality.

For Kane had a very complicated background and part of it was due to how he came to be...His mother had a tryst with a well to do man and then the man wanted nothing to do with her when she became pregnant with Kane. All during his childhood and later, this was a factor in his life. With his mother, heartbroken, she would thrust this kid in the man's path. These actions warped how Kane felt about the man and sometimes himself. Eventually the mother centered herself and was able to focus on a career in law. She was then able to have the man finally own up to his financial obligations....

But the emotional damage for Kane was done...

Sky Gordon's life wasn't the outside picture it was cracked up to be...When Kane became best friends with her brother...he saw the family life he had dreamed of...Perfect dinners at the table, a mother and father fawning over their children and the kids seeming to be loved and cared for without worry. Kane became a fixture with her brother... and when her brother, Bennington, decided to become a bull rider like Kane...her parents would have none of it.

Bennington became a casualty of the sport like so many others and when this tragedy happened, Kane came right away from where he had been to see to Sky. He wanted to make sure she was dealing with it. Then over time, Sky decided to let Kane know... she was interested in Kane.

It was the best of times for them both...Sky made Kane feel centered and happy... all his doubts about himself would disappear and he could breath. Sky bloomed into this perfect woman... talented in the arts, she would take photo after photo of Kane in his chaps, on bulls or just walking around the corrals...

These two were experiencing nirvana...when these two were together....they could not keep themselves apart... the times together were like nothing they had ever experienced...they would always be touching or holding hands...

It was the summer with 19 year old Sky setting about to return to college. Her the ultimate goal was to get her MFA. Kane was starting to meet sponsors and have to do events with all of the trappings of models and rich fans. Kane didn't want to share Sky with anyone...he wanted her all to himself. He also was aware of how talented she was so he knew he couldn't hold her back from her goals...

When the summer was over and they parted like they had initially planned, both were hurting...because for Kane, Sky was it... she made him feel whole... but he had to let her achieve what she wanted....

And Sky was just as broken when she said good bye...she loved Kane hard...it hurt he didn't turn around and ask for her to go on the road with him. She also hurt because she made the ultimate sacrifice...

Both of these people go forward with a hole in their hearts...It is four years later and Kane is now at the top of his career. He has won the top place of the AEBR twice, he is set on the path to win it again. He has sponsors galore and a bank account loaded to help him accomplish what he had set out to do all those years ago. He is a cog in the bull riding industry wheel and the PR machine sometimes annoys the hell out of him.

And right now would be one of those times. He has been called in to find out why a copyrighted image of him was up for auction as a sculpture in Phoenix. As soon as Kane sees it, he knows exactly who made it. He lets the powers that be know he will fix this and travels off to Phoenix all stirred up.

Sky is not in her comfort zone...she is all dolled up in clothes she would never pick out, being pushed to be this product by the handsy art gallery owner. Sky has been doing a balancing act with him. He is important because his gallery is well known for fine art and represents only the best in the area. Her MFA collection was award winning and the word got out about these amazing western sculptures. She was asked by a Dr. from the local hospital to see what she had and he picked out this piece to be donated.

It was ironic he picked that one out as it was Kane, riding and soaring above the bull... She had taken license with it by him not having his shirt, protective vest on. It clearly showed the tattoo he had on his back...and it was something she never stopped loving. But it was time for her to move on, she had to stop loving him like she had...

This book starts explosively with the two of them... Kane on a path directly to Sky...and then it becomes even more intense...with all the emotion and love you could want. These two Never stopped loving each other... and the proof of the love they had was right in front of both of them.

Kane is Alpha all the way and Sky is this woman who knows she made mistakes. Each must go through their emotional arc to get to where they need to be with each other. I loved Kane's intensity and his desires to make things different than how he had been raised, it was totally understandable. Sky had her reasons at the time...at least she thought she did... but as she began to see clearly...and she was determined to make things better.

There are some other factors in this tale... and I happened to like the fact things were proven to be just as Kane said. I also liked that we got a taste of Gage. I think his book may be coming soon.

As I said earlier, this is an addictive series. You settle in and know each of these men have their own reasons for being the hardcore Bull Riders they are. It is the peeling away of their layers with the meeting of women who are strong enough to see each of them as the men they truly are.

I've never read a book by Sinclair Jayne but I will be doing so in the future. This bull riding series just gets better and better and I cannot go past a book about bullriders let alone an entire series.

So far all the books I've read in the American Extreme Bull Riders series have been great. Loved them all. This particular story was no exception. Loved the plot the setting and the Characters I just fell in love with.

A second chance romance gets me every time. Great job and great read.

Kane is part of a series of books about bull riders. This book focuses on a man and woman who had been separated foe four years as a result of a misunderstanding, but who never stopped loving each other. Their difficult pasts almost kept them apart, but their love for each other and their daughter brought them back together.

Sinclair Jayne gets better and better and really shows her worth in Kane, the latest instalment in the American Extreme Bull Riders series. This story is so well rounded! Characters I couldn't help but love are the main appeal but the plot is also a winner. Great weekend reading!

The author does a good job drawing you into Sky and Lanes world. The pair reconnect after several years apart and decide to get back together.
I felt that it needed more of a storyline . The book was a big repeat of why she left him and how he felt about it. It was getting a bit tiresome.

I haven't read a true full romance novel in a while and this did not disappoint. Kane was every girls wet dream of good looks, athleticism, and brains but the wall of silence built around his heart cause him more problems than he bargained for. Sky was head over heels in love and as naive as they come but when you make assumptions an keep secrets it always comes back to bite you in the ass. But we all know that love will prevail. Especially when there is also an adorable three year old daddy's girl involved. Great story.

Kane is an island. At the top of his game, he has no time to be sidetracked, until his past and present collide. Now this island dweller is about to become a family man. Kane is a wonderful example of what draws readers to Sinclair Jayne. Stirring up the pot is a natural born talent of this gifted writer. There is always a twist to keep the story fresh and the characters on their toes. The quintessential page turner, Ms. Jayne never leaves home without her A game.

Sinclair Jayne’s Kane is a sweet second-chance romance, and if you are a fan of the secret baby trope, you will enjoy this one. Kane knew Sky because of his friendship with her brother, who was also a bull rider and died due to injuries from riding. Sky and Kane had a steamy and passionate summer together when she was just 19-years old, and she ended up pregnant just as they were saying goodbye and she was set to return to college. Sky didn’t tell him about the baby, and they do not speak for four years until they run into each other by chance. Kane is, understandably, angry and immediately wants to be a father to his daughter. He and Sky have much to figure out, and they begin a push and pull to excavate their past and determine if they have a future together as a family. Kane is a nice addition to the American Extreme Bull Riders Tour series featuring sexy cowboys and their true loves.

When the he collides with the only woman he ever loved, but let go so she could continue her education he is more than shocked to find out he is a dad. Kane is a sweet second chance romance that is the 6th book in the AEBRT series.

Our hero Kane, is a tough and focused bull rider who let our heroine, Sky, get away 4 years before the start of the book. I enjoyed reading about Kane and Sky meeting up again and I enjoyed watching their relationship progress past the old regrets and new challenges that came up in their love story. The characters were well written and likable. They both acted age appropriate and believably for their situations.

I have never read any other books by Sinclair Jayne but I intend to do so after reading this engaging romance. I would recommend this book to anyone who has enjoyed any of the other books in this series or anyone who enjoys contemporary romance.

have loved this series from the beginning and the concept of second chance romance always appeals to this reader’s heart.

Kane and Sky have an undeniable chemistry, which is always apparent even when Sky would rather deny the truth. The storyline was enjoyable and the character interaction was well written and developed. I can’t wait for more of these sexy cowboys to fall head over heels in love!

Kane Wilder is at the top of his bull riding game, and heading into his home town of Phoenix he is look for another win to put him closer to the championship once again. Sky Gordon is so excited about one of her bronze pieces being selected for an auction at a gallery showing that she knows the last four years of hard work may soon be paying off. At least in recognition. Now after his last ride for the day Kane is being yelled at by the P.R. lady of the rodeo tour about why is someone using his likeness on this art brochure? Seeing the picture and saying he will take care of it he leaves. Sky standing in the gallery with the gallery owner she looks up and sees the man she left four years ago walking towards her and damn if he doesn’t look hotter now than he did when she left. She was 19 and he was 22. He walks up and puts a jacket around her and proceeds to kiss her and then explain how the bronze is his. See when she was with him she did some art work for the rodeo and signed a trademark agreement, and you can tell he the bull rider on the statue. The best part comes when this little three year old comes running in and hugs Sky saying mommy, mommy, and then when turning and seeing Kane says look its daddy. He did not know he had a daughter. This is not just a simple story about a boy and a girl. It is more than that and it is more than just winning every weekend. They both now are thinking about what could happen. They each realize the mistakes they made the first time and are working on fixing them now. This is an excellent book to go along with the series. A must read.

The worst part about assumptions is that they are most often totally wrong. That’s something that Sky learned the hard way once Kane re-entered her life and discovered exactly what (or who) she’d kept hidden from him for far, far too long.

Kane is an emotional, second chance romance that it high on the emotions, the reasons of the couple, and a bit lower on the bull riders tour. I might have wished for more of the rodeo, but we did meet up with several former characters so that fix of mine was slightly satisfied. Sky and Kane had issues in their pasts that partially lead to the decisions they made. This couple truly needed better communication skills in the past and in the present. Their assumptions cost them dearly, and although it makes for a good story line, without talking to each other it’s no wonder they ended up as they did. There were many times I really wanted to reach into the pages and get them to sit down and talk, be straight in their answers, stop holding back and just talk to each other.

In all, Kane was an enjoyable story, one that I had fun with in spite of my constant need for them to talk it out honestly. You don’t have to have read the other stories in this series – but you’re missing some amazing stories if you make that choice. I’d recommend this story and the entire series to any Romance reader who enjoys realistic situations, likable couples and well, a love of the rodeo doesn’t hurt. *grin*

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

Wow - awesome read! Intense alpha cowboy - check. Secret baby - check. Sparks still flying - double check! This is a fantastic series of book written by various authors and this is a great addition. Kane is rugged, sexy, and seriously mad. First he finds out someone is using his likeness is in an art show. Then to discover that it's not just someone but his old flame Sky Gordon is just to much. Meeting Sky's three year old daughter who just so happens to look just like Kane - over the freaking edge!! Don't miss this one! I highly recommend it.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

I love second chance romances and this was a great read! At first I wasn't sure if I even liked Kane and Sky kind of passive so I wan't sure about her, either. As the story progressed, I could feel Kane's pain and I still was upset with Sky for her part in keeping her pregnancy a secret.

As the story unfolds, you learn more about each of their feelings and secrets and you can understand how they reacted or kept secrets from the other. Kane always thought that Sky had a wonderful family life and didn't know it was all a show for others while in secret, Sky was either ignored or treated terribly.

I started to like Sky more as I understood her background and her feelings, as she opened up to Kane, I started to get annoyed with Kane as he couldn't do the same for Sky! They both had secrets and it was very revealing to see them exposed and then understand how they shaped their relationship, but I still wanted to smack Kane for not being able to tell Sky "I love you" for most of the book!

I also loved the moment when Kane asked Sky why his daughter, Montana had her middle name of Kate! That was very clever to think up such a fitting middle name for a bull rider dad. Sky seemed to really have grown since her previous time with Kane and I liked that she was able to stand up and not just accept whatever Kane wanted. I liked that she didn't care about his money and had a career of her own, and would love to see her bronze sculptures, they seemed so "real"!

I have not read the other books about Kane's brothers and their women but I loved that they were part of the story and enjoyed that Kane had such caring family. It is not necessary to have read the previous books, as this is a stand alone story but just the small parts about these guys made me curious about them and want to read their stories.

I saw that there are other books in this series along with Kane about the other guys mentioned that were his competition, and they sound interesting, also.
