Kane by Sinclair Jayne is part of the American Extreme Bull Riders Series but it is also part of the Wilder Men Series too. With that said, it still is a stand-alone book, so it is not necessary to have read either series. Personally, I think it fits the Wilders better because the focus is on the couple involved in the story, not the bull riding circuit. I have found that to be normal for a Sinclair Jayne book.

The couple in question is Kane, world champion bull rider and artist, Sky. It is a second chance story that has a huge secret in the beginning that Kane discovers. It is funny how that sort of thing can bring about life changes especially in one’s goals, which is exactly what it does for Kane. Kane brings the same tenacity to winning Sky’s heart that made him the world champion., making this an intense relationship centered story.

ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
Sky was really hoping that this showing will finally open the doors for her.
What she did not think would happen was for Kane to crash the opening
She thought that she would never see Kane again.
She was heartbroken when she left him.
She thought that she was just another buckle bunny for Kane.
Kane really feel hard for Sky.
He was just too afraid to show his emotions.
Because of misunderstanding + things left unsaid, they broke up.
Now, he found out that he had a daughter.
He lost so many years of his child's life.
Can they forgive each other + build a future together?
Is their love still strong enough ?
You will have to read the book to find out.
It is really worth it.

This series just gets better and better. Each book written by a different author and showcasing a different rider and his woman. I’ve loved each and every one of them I’ve read.

Kane and Sky have known each other for years and she has always been in love with him. At nineteen they come together for a summer and her love for him is solidified. Unfortunately, despite having strong feelings for her as well, he’s closed off and secretive so he allows her to leave not knowing that she is carrying his baby.

Yeah, that’s right. This is a second chance, secret baby romance and usually they don’t work for me. However, ultimately, I could see how both of these characters were at fault for their lengthy separation. Communication is paramount but not always conducive to the plot of such a story.

This is a fast paced book with characters that evolve and develop as the story progresses. Montana, their three year old was written exceptionally well and I’m always a sucker for children in romance.

I received an advance reader copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.

Dual POV although mostly Sky’s
Safety – he sleeps with other women during their separation but she does not
No apparent triggers

Another great addition to the American Extreme Bull Riders series. Though each one written by a different author, each one to date has been a small taste of championship bull riding. This one presents one proficient bull rider with an artist who creates sculptures of them. Loved the imagery the author creates of both bull riding as well as the sculpted art. I was through them before I knew it!

Loved this story of second chance romance between Kane and Sky. Kane and Sky have a history of a summer romance a few years back that left them with a little girl. Kane had no idea of this secret until running into Sky at an art exhibit. Now Kane wants to make it all right in life and will not take no for an answer.

They both had secrets of growing up that they are afraid with will affect their relationships but want to prove to each other that they can succeed in their careers and their personal lives and not make the same mistakes. Loved, Kane, so sexy!! Sky is a very strong person and has succeeded in raising her little girl and starting her career.

Loving these Extreme Bull Riders, all with tough exteriors but they have big soft hearts for their true loves. All stand alone stories but you will want to read them all. I highly recommend.

Kane, Sinclair Jayne

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre: General Fiction (Adult), Romance

There's something about these western romance reads, I hate the idea of rodeos and bull riding, the stress on the animals and yet...they make for some great reads ;-)
I loved Sky, and understood exactly why she kept Montana a secret. Given her family history and Kane's career and lack of commitment to her she did what she thought was right for her baby. I felt for Kane though, he feels he's missed so much, and he too has a background that's not the happy family unit everyone sees in public. Its easy to be wise with hindsight, to say he would have been happy, would have been involved but it could have been such a disaster, he could have ended up resenting Sky and Montana if his fledgling career crashed.

Now though he knows, and he's like a bulldozer. I did want to say to Sky at times "stand up for yourself woman" especially when it was a d ick waving contest between him and Jonah. As an artist too I was a bit puzzled how easily her career seemed to go, casting in bronze and metal sculptures in general are very expensive procedures, not one the average single mum can afford easily.
I hadn't read any of the earlier books, didn't realise there were any but I still followed the story easily. I think that if I had read them though it would have enhanced my reading, I'd have enjoyed updates on the earlier characters. It was a fun romance, loved the setting, the characters felt very real, and its a series that would be an enjoyable read. Its not one I'm likely to reread, but I'll look for more from this author.

Stars: four, fun romance.

Having read the entire series to date, Kane has truly captured my heart and become my favorite. Ms Jayne has depicted the life, loves, and challenges of the circuit...but Kane was carved from an image that transcends the typical view of a bull rider. Along with the seriousness associated with the sport, the injection of humor was well placed, creating another dimension to the characters and story.

The beauty and imagery of Sky's art was breathtaking...to my mind's eye I saw the pieces of Kane, not only the bull rider, but the one of him walking away just made my heart break. The descriptions, the fluidity of movement was amazing how real the author was able to bring all this alive through her writing. If real, I would have loved to see those pieces.

There's one thing I've truly enjoyed are the children in the series...they steal the scene each and every time...Montana was no exception. She made me smile with her enthusiasm and readily acceptance of her father...the first time Kane held her and called her baby girl brought a smile and sigh...I just knew their father/daughter relationship was going to be priceless.

I wasn't ready for the story to end, the emotional attachment was too hard to let go, but how Ms Jayne complete her story was unique and left me wanting more of Kane and Sky's story...does he or doesn't he???

Three and a half stars.

I love this series, each novel is written by a different novelist about a different character from the American Extreme Bull Riding (AEBR) circuit, so when I saw this available for request I jumped on it.

Kane Wilder is riding high on the AEBR circuit when Alicia Flores (love the shout out to The Good Wife) head of PR approaches him, incensed that a local art gallery is having an exhibition and charity auction for a local hospital prominently featuring a bronzed sculpture of Kane himself, a trademarked image.

When Kane turns up at the gallery's showing the following morning he sees the artist is his former lover, and his best friend's little sister, Sky Gordon. Then the icing on the cake, Sky is not only seemingly involved with the preppy gallery owner but has a three year old daughter, Montana, who not only looks exactly like him but also calls him Daddy as soon as she sees him.

Four years ago Sky left Kane, knowing she was pregnant, because she didn't think the dedicated up-and-coming bull rider would welcome a wife and child, even if he would "do the right thing" and Sky loved him too much to hold him back. Only trouble is, Sky figured Kane all wrong and boy is he mad!

This is a classic second chance romance/ secret baby plot. Both Kane and Sky have childhood issues which they allow to colour their perceptions and influence their actions. Both of them hide secrets from each other. And both of them, frankly, need to use their words, there is a bit too much "we need to talk" and "I don't want to talk about it now" and not enough actual speaking to each other.

I liked this but I didn't love it. This was tightly focused on Sky and Kane to the exclusion of much else, Montana seemed to be like a toy child that was front and centre being cute and then conveniently out of sight and mind when they got their thang on. I rather like the AEBR scenes and so I was disappointed that there weren't more. We see several of the previous characters, but since I have the memory of a goldfish I was never truly sure who was who (or what plot was theirs).

Overall, a slightly angsty addition to the series.

I received a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

If you're into Cowboys, this is one series you're gonna want to read. This is my third book I've read from the American Extreme Bull Riders series and I've loved all three! Even though they are from different authors, each author has captured the Alpha Cowboy to perfection.

The intensity of Kane was so hot, Sky didn't stand a chance. This one is a second chance romance and Kane may have let her go the first time, but he sure isn't letting her go the second time, despite her betrayal. I don't want to reveal any spoilers but I feel it's important to state Sky's betrayal does not involve cheating. The way Kane retrieved what belonged to him would have many a women jealous.

This is a higher angst read with the book spending the majority of the time with Sky and Kane's reconciliation, but it's worth it to read how take charge Kane is. The author also got me very interested in two of the side characters that have books of their own. I'll be diving into those soon! ARC provided by NetGalley.
