Murder Over Mochas was a fast-paced, thrilling cozy mystery. Juliet Langley is back in the fifth Java Jive mystery. In this installment, Juliet is visited by an unwelcome blast from the past, her cheating, thieving ex-fiancé, Scott O'Malley. After a highly visible altercation with Scott, he comes back to speak with Juliet, and drops dead in front of her. In order to clear her best friend, Pete, and herself of potential murder charges, Juliet investigates Scott's death with the help of Pete and her friend Ryder.
Murder Over Mochas is a wild ride that kept me guessing to the end! Happily, Murder Over Mochas can be read as a stand alone mystery, but I know I will be reading the four preceding books as soon as I can.

I LOVED this book!! Juliette has once again found herself in a situation where she needs to hunt down a killer. This time the victim is her ex-fiancé, and considering the way their relationship ended it is needless to say she needed to clear her name. She teams up with both Pete and Ryder to solve the case.
I am a big fan of Caroline Fardig and particularly this series. Throughout this series characters from her other series (The Lizzie Hart mysteries) have been on the sidelines but in this book Lizzie, Blake, and others play a larger role so you find out a little more about what they have been doing since their last book Wedding Bell Blues.
Unfortunately for me Juliette does not end up with the person I wanted her to but it seems as though all were happy in the end and left me feeling satisfied even though it wasn't the outcome I was hoping for.
I am not sure if this is the last book in the series but it definitely read like it could be the final book. While I hope these characters return I am looking forward to reading other books by this author. I would highly recommend this book and series to anyone who likes a cozy mystery!

These Java Jive books are just magical! Fun, mysterious, romantic and well written. I drop everything else on my TBR pile to read these when one become available and it is worth it. The lively cast of characters and the storyline that keeps me interested because you never know what will happen to Juliet yet, make these a must read. This one did have a little different feel as Juliet made some very important life decisions, while solving the murder of her ex-fiancé with her bestie Pete and ex-boyfriend Ryder. I feel so invested in these characters and their growing/changing relationships which adds to the excitement of reading the book; wanting to know what will happen to them all next! The wit that is infused into the writing is one of my favorite things and this book also incorporated a few familiar faces to those who have read Fardig's other works. I recommend this entire series to anyone who wants a good mystery, good relationships and fun read! Thank you netgalley!

Coffee anyone? This book had me trying to decide if I wanted things to change for Juliet or not. Would she realize that she wants things to work out with Ryder or will she realize that her best friend Pete was the one that she loved, and now it was their chance? There were parts of this book that made me laugh out loud, especially when Juliet's ex Scott showed up at Java Jive for help and some parts made me want to yell. When I read I enjoy being able to immerse myself in the story and feel like I am actually there, this author definitely did that once again. Thank you NetGalley and Caroline Fardig for allowing to read and review this book.

LOVED this book! This is a fun and very entertaining mystery with plenty of angst as Juliet encounters her past boyfriends - one of whom dies in front of her. And just her luck, but a lazy and minimally competent detective is assigned to the case. He'll be able to wrap it up quickly once he can prove that Juliet or BFF Pete did it.
With her new PI license, Juliet begins investigating the case to prove her (and Pete's) innocence. Before long, she and her pals are embroiled in one madcap escapade after another - from "stealing" her own property to spending time with the the taxidermy animals from hell.

Fans of the genre will love this book. This is a stand alone novel, however its so good that you really owe it to yourself to read the whole series. The author is on my must read authors' list.
