When Brooke Grant’s Washington, DC wedding is attacked by a terrorist, Brooke and her daughter escape the explosion by a stroke of luck. The casualties include the president, and Brooke is soon drawn into hunting the terrorist who took her life’s love from her, along with many family and friends.

The newly-sworn-in president establishes a covert CIA task force, and Brooke teams up with a Saudi intelligence officer and an Israeli Mossad agent as they go on the hunt for the terrorist known as the Falcon, a man determined to destroy the USA and establish a caliphate.

In the book Vengeance, author and former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich continues to follow Major Brooke Grant and the terrorist who is out to destroy her and her family – the Falcon.
After losing most of her friends, family, fiancée, and even the President to a terrorist truck bomb, Grant becomes part of a taskforce that is hunting the Falcon. But can she make the hard decisions that will bring him to justice? Or will the politics of Washington thwart it all!
I would highly recommend this book. It is a fast pace read with many twists and turns. I received a copy of this e-book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Action packed tale of radical Islamic terrorism. Exciting from the first page to the last sentence. Well written, easy to read with well-developed characters that we recognize from the prior two books. Highly recommended and fitting to current times.

Kind of an average read. It was not great, but I do not feel bad about the time I spent reading it. There just seemed to be "something" lacking. Characters remain a bit too two dimensional in this third book in the Brooke Grant series. I would expect them to have expanded a bit by now. The suspension of belief was also challenged and made overly conscious in some of the discussions between the security experts in which they readily converge on an interpretation or scenario with little or no basis and when other plausible and much more likely explanations come immediately to the avid readers mind creating a little dissonance. I will probably continue reading the series, but hope for more than I have gotten so far.

This is a very well written fast paced political thriller that has turn after turn and leaves you wanting more! I loved this book and couldn't put it down. I understood after starting this book it is the third in a series but had no trouble reading it as a standalone novel.
A terrorist crashes into a D.C. wedding but the bride survives. Brooke wants nothing more than to assist in finding the terrorist and having her revenge. She joins a special CIA team to do just that but the terrorist has other plans.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this book for a firs and honest review!

This is an explosive international political thriller. As a political junkie, I was hooked on this book rather quickly. The story is extremely timely and feels ripped from the headlines. Unfortunately, it seems accurately relevant to the time we are living in. It hearkens to the upcoming anniversary of September 11th combined with the news coming from North Korea.

This is the third book in a series by Newt Gingrich and Pete Earley. While I have not read the first two books they are on my “to read” list now. This story can stand independently from the other two books. Mr. Gingrich and Mr. Early craft just enough of the back story so that someone who is not familiar with the main characters can still follow along without being bewildered.

This book develops each character wonderfully. Each main character is deeply complex. One of the characters in the novel is religion. The book carefully develops different religions of the Middle East and Christianity. The authors take the reader through the idiosyncracies of these beliefs and the cultures they derive from.

Another main character is political climate. Interwoven into the story is the political climate in the United States regarding terrorism and how to keep our Country safe. The storyline is very intense and action packed. The plot gives the reader a small peak into what it takes to protect our homeland. The culmination of the story leaves you wanting more. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the first two installments, as well as, future installments. I would definitely recommend this book.

I would like to thank the authors and Hachette Book Group for the ARC on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Latest novel by the authors featuring Major Brook Grant and her fiancee the full blooded Indian "Walks Many Miles" both of whom met while serving in the armed forces. The book opens at the pair's wedding in Washington D.C. with a list of high level guests including the president of the United States. Suddenly there is a terrific explosion set by a terrorist with a truck bomb. Brook escapes the carnage by a fluke along with her adopted daughter Jennifer. To state that she wants revenge is an understatement and she is helped with her quest by the incoming president forming a secret squad loosely tied to the CIA whose mission is to find and kill terrorists. No trial, no rights, no imprisonment, but as quickly as possible death by any means at hand.
The authors tie in other active agents selected by the president along with Brook. These include two others at the outset. One is a member of a Saudi Arabian secret group dedicated to the same ends and the other a female member of the Mossad. The three live up to their established creed of find the terrorists forget about trials and leave the bodies where they lay.
In the midst of all the action in both the U.S. and overseas this new group go on the attack, finding out which group planned the bombing and why. Who is allied with them and what are the future plans of these terrorists. The authors, who obviously plan more novels with the group as the center have apparently changed the thrust of their books from descriptions of military operations to one of behind the scenes doing away with terrorist groups by fair means or foul.
As in the previous novels writing is fast, action swift, and a feeling of just deserts to terrorists definitely carried out

This is an explosive international political thriller. The story feels ripped from the headlines and very relevant to the time we are living in. Newt Gingrich and Pete Earley are back with the third installment in their Brooke Grant series. I have not read the first two books in this series, but after reading this one I will definitely put them on my list for the future. The authors provide just enough back story from previous novels so that someone who is unfamiliar with the characters can still follow along without being too confused. The entire cast of characters in this novel are complex in their own right. Each one is developed sufficiently and their stories are expertly woven into the plot.

This novel starts with a scene that casts a dark tone, a promise to eliminate Brooke on the happiest day of her life. By sheer chance, Brooke survives the attempt on her life, but her world is forever changed. Soon afterwards Brooke is assigned to a CIA task force charged with hunting down and eliminating enemy #1, The Falcon. The president has given the CIA director free reign to operate how he sees fit to accomplish this task, even going so far as to giving him a signed pardon in advance. Brooke is paired up with two people from different countries that she is not sure she can fully trust, but she is left with little choice in the matter.

This book has insightful discussions of different religions throughout it that really deepen the plot, including a healthy dose of Christianity. The reader becomes familiar with different beliefs and cultures and gains a better understanding of the religious and political climates around the world. As the action accelerates, Brooke and her team are in a race against time to stop a large scale terrorist act. The tension ratchets up with each chapter, culminating in a shocking and explosive conclusion. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to the next installment in this series.

I would recommend this book to fans of international and political thrillers. I received this as a free ARC from Center Street, Hachette Book Group on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Wow, I loved this book. This is a very fast paced political thriller that I couldn't put down - it kept me up late into the night until I finished it. I loved the characters, especially Brooke, who is a talented woman and Major in the Marines. She took a different path from her family and made her own way, but that put her in the cross hairs of Muslim extremists and has them actively trying to kill her. Because of this, she is thrown into a variety of dangerous situations and forced to partner with people she would normally rather see criminally prosecuted for their actions. However, as the proverb states, sometimes "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." This leads to Brooke having to face difficult moral challenges and decisions on how to preserve her humanity while making those choices.

This the third book in the Brooke Grant series, but is a stand alone novel, however, the series is so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. This is a must read for fans of the genre. The authors are on my must read authors' list.

This book was really intense. The beginning had me worried about how it would turn out but it was really good and I am glad I continued on. The characters were exciting and this book full of action and suspense.

The characters were hard to figure out and that made them really fascinating. They all played their cards close to their vest so you couldn’t ever see what anyone’s motives were. I was always waiting for someone to do something very unexpected.

I was hooked on this book pretty quick. Like I said earlier, the beginning had me worried, but then you had to keep reading to see how it would all play out. After that, the action got really intense. By the time I got a quarter of the way in it was so action packed that I didn’t really feel as though there was ever a good time to put it down.

This is a scary world we live in right now and this book showed exactly what could happen. With all the talk from North Korea about launching nuclear bombs at the US, this book is terrifyingly relevant to today’s world.

*I received an advanced copy of this book from the publisher. A positive review was not required. All opinions are my own.*
