A lot of twist and turns and keeps you guessing what Ellie will find out about her past. What you hope for doesn't always turn out like you want! This book keeps you interested all the way through. Highly recommend

This book had me wondering from the very beginning. I absolutely did not want to find out how this book would end because the way the story was flowing over the pages. Ellie had a childhood that she could not remember and after reading about her grandmother that might be a good thing. She moved all her things to her grandmothers house hoping that she would figure out who she really was and why she did not know. Thank you NetGalley and Ashley Farley for allowing me to read and give a honest review of this book.

What a rollercoaster ride through life with Ellie! All the southern charm comes through despite the secrets that struggle to release themselves. A definite share book to read I so enjoyed it although the end was rather quick to wrap up. A totally great find Netgalley!

The story which threatened to be overwhelmed with ghosts and scary events turned out to be rather heart warming. I was completely enthralled with the book, but the ending seemed quite hurried and written without much care or thought, which in turn ruined the book.

An amazing journey taken with a woman named Ellie who inherits her grandmother's old home in Charleston and returns to find sad, disturbing memories.
What she sees as the days go forward, is a family she lost and a love like no other.
"No more obsessing about the past. From now on we're marching toward the future."
This is a book I could not put down.
The descriptions of the town of Charleston, the run down home, the magnolia tree, the memories found, all come alive in Ashley's writing

This was a quick, easy read and I enjoyed finding out the family history alongside the protagonist. I thought the big reveal of the deep trauma she experienced as a child was clever, but I feel like it was rushed in places and drawn out in others. I would have liked more at the ending instead of feeling like she stopped caring about her characters.
