I have slowly made my way through all the books in this series and decided to review as a whole. These are amazing. Funny, smart with characters to love. They have made a believer out of me that PNR can be for me!!!

I love this series so much, and the only thing that kept me from enjoying this book as much as I would have otherwise is that I know there is only one book left! Argh!! Well, at least I wasn't disappointed in the story, as it was just as fun as the others. With the series coming to an end, a lot of questions are being answered, which is nice, but at the same time, a lot of new questions are arising, which is also nice. Weird how that works! Basically, we're seeing how everything is tying together, and how all of the previous books have led us to this point, but we're also kept guessing at how everything is going to end. Thank the gods all of our regular characters are still there with Charley, because I would feel totally let down if they weren't. The stakes are being raised, and everybody has a part to play. I'm on the edge of my seat to see how this all plays out!

5/5 stars.

Well, Reyes is a bit upset in this one, to say the least. Charley needs to get him back from his god self to help her save the world. We once again see all the important characters in this book, as well as Charley putting on her PI cap.

In this 12th installment of the Charley Davison series, Charley is dealing with the repercussions of her actions in the last book. Reyes has gone all evil god on her and she's trying to bring back the man/demon/son of satan she loves. There is a lot of Garrett in this book. We also get to learn about Charley, Reyes and Beep as told through a children's book written by a prophet. We see some major action in this book - and some major craziness. Also another cliff-hanger. One book left and there is a lot to clear up.

I did enjoy this one. I thought that things were going to head in a different direction than they did. And there were some unexpected events that I thought were going to destroy me but ended up not being so bad in the end.

In the end, I understand what Reyes was doing but he ended up gutting me for almost an entire book because I had no idea how things were going to turn out. And I guess it's a wonderful thing that after twelve books I can still get some surprises.

Then, right at the very end, the unthinkable happens. I have no idea what's going to happen but if I were Charley, I would have done the exact same thing. Damn the consequences! Can't wait to see what happens in the next (and last?) book.

These books are always such a wild, fun, sarcastic, crazy ride, and I loved revisiting the entire gang on this installment. Charley always makes me laugh, the mysteries are always twisted, the behavior outrageous, and those cliffhangers always leave me wanting more! Great fun series on audiobook, and one that I’ll miss once it’s finished.

I started this series and read the first 8 books back to back. When I went back to read the next 4 I was immediately able to jump back in to the story. I love this author and these characters. The world building and storyline are so good and well developed!

I just have loved this whole series. They are full of action, laughter and love. They are steamy, they can leave you on the edge of your seat and they warm your heart. I always wonder where the next book can lead, what Darynda has in store for Charley and she never disappoints. I also, sometimes, wondered if it would be difficult too keep up with Charley and Reyes being gods and all the greater universes they are part of, but it's not. It's actually interesting and keeps me wanting more.

This final installment was as amazing as I’d hoped it would be. I was so worried about Beep, Charley and the gang. I had no idea how it would all wrap up but I really enjoyed this book end to the series. I thought the ending was fitting and I enjoyed it.

The second to last Charley Davidson book. I wanted this story but I didn't want the series to end at all. Charley especially has been one of my favorite heroines and I love her and Reyes!

The Trouble with Twelfth Grave
Charley Davidson, Book 12

I Picked Up This Book Because: Have you ever read a Charley book you didn’t like? Me either

The Characters:

Charley Davidson:
Rey’azikeen:

The Story:

I’m not going to lie the ending of this book has me traumatized and I find it wholly unfair that I have to wait a year for the next installment. An entire 12 months! I can’t even.

Something I also forget is these stories take place relatively close together. Even though I’ve been enjoying Charley’s whit and wisdom for years the storyline has only covered a fraction of that time. Beep is still just a teeny tiny whoopit. (That’s an infant for those not in the know.) I really wish Charley got to spend more time with her. I would love to see her and Reyes tackle being more hands on as parents.

But back to this story. Charley is as usual busy with several cases at once. Trying to clear her friend Peri and find the real murderer, a string of supernatural deaths oh and let us not forget the god who escaped from the god glass in her husband body and his quest to find… we don’t know what. (I mean we find out but you have to read that on your own) Charley handles life in a sleep deprived whirlwind of grace and sleep deprived Charley charm. I really have no bad words to say about this story, okay there were quite a few bad words at 93% and some more after that but they were good bad words.

Writing: I devoured these words like Charley devours gods.
Overall Interest: Loved every second.
Length of Reading Time: As usual in my life I had feast or famine days for reading.
Re-read-ability: The more I read and think about this series the more I want to do an epic re-read.. well re-listen, I really love Lorelei King’s interpretation of Charley.

The Random Thoughts:

This review is going to be for the rest of the series overall. I read the last of the books in quick succession and enjoyed them all equally. I'm glad that I enjoyed it as much as I did. I'm definitely looking forward to reading more from Darynda Jones in the future.

Holy evil cliff hanger!

This series has been a bit of a roller coaster for me. I have loved some of the books and hated others. This deep into the series if you don't already know what you like then you haven't been paying much attention.

All that needs be said is that I am excited and sad to see this wrapping up. The characters have grown on me and it will be strange when they are not in my reading life anymore. Here is hoping the end is worthy of the rest of the series.

Thank you NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this whole series.
My opinions are honest and entirely unbiased.

I love the whole series. I've read and listened to the series multiple times. Charley is appreciatively grumpy and snarky. I, too, have an appreciation for coffee and enchiladas. And sarcasm. (General Review for series books 1-12)

I can't believe this series is almost over. Its been quite a ride. I've enjoyed the books and ask the characters. Charley and Reyes are the best.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor.

I requested all the books in the series when they were available, but decided not to continue past book 3. I will not be reviewing this book.

Again this book is another hit, I do love this series, love the action and mysteries in this series! I love Charly as the Grim Reeper. I can't wait to read the next book. I highly recommend this book.

Nice conclusion to the series. Overall the book was ok, but I was glad to have the story wrapped up. It was a bit heavy handed with the deus ex machina type narrative at the end, and the whole "new dimension/god" was a bit hard to follow. Not the worst series finale I've read/watched ::cough::cough::Game of Thrones, but it certainly wasn't the best either.
