Well it's one thing after another for Charley. She's found Reyes the man of her dreams, discovered exactly who and what she is, loved and lost ( well hidden actually) and now to cap it all Reyes has reverted to his former evil self! And might I add this is all before a cup of coffee! Yup it's safe to say that in this instalment Charley really is up against it as the big guy upstairs aka Him knows that if baby bro can't be tamed the world really is better off without Rey'azikeen.
Still it wouldn't be a Charley Davidson story if there wasn't all manner of mundane and often hilarious subplots thrown in. Murder most horrid is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg as something clearly not human is going around killing but why? Add in a certain perceptive and awfully cute teenager deciding it's time to start solving crimes herself and then there the little matter of stripper action! Alas my lips are sealed but hip hip hooray the gangs all here !
This series isn't usually a five for me as I just find Charley's constant googly eyes when Reyes is around too juvenile but this time I can honestly say the author got it right. Everyone loves Reyes but Reyes loves Charley and she's not the only one with a weak spot ( hint hint ). I know everyone wants to know if the Reyes we love comes back but to say what happens really would ruin the glorious surprise. So I will finish by saying there is a moment of such joy and love that I couldn't stop smiling but (yes there's a HUGE but ) Charley has always known that sometimes sacrifices must be made . Prepare to gnash your teeth and howl for more !
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

It was definitely better than the last book, I kept thinking It is going to come to an end, there is no way that this can series can get better. Last book almost convinved me of that UNTIL I read this one. This book is loads better. I got to learn more about the both the main characters and the Importance of Patience.

Awesome book, awesome characters, sassy, smart and funny dialogue to die for - End of!
The Queen of Quips is back and she's got a lot on her plate.

Put you other 'stuff' down and make room for Charley Davidson, then hang on, 'cos the ride gets bumpy and it's full on from the first chapter. Forget peace and forget quiet, they are overrated - everyone needs a badass, god eating grim reaper in their lives.

And that ending!!! OMG!

Thank-you Netgalley for providing an advance copy in exchange for an honest review. As with all the previous Charley Davidson instalments I loved, loved, loved it and can't wait for book 13.

Darynda Jones has done it again- Another gripping, laugh out loud, oh-no-she-didnt, instalment toThe Charlie Davidson series.

The Trouble With The Twelfth Grave is a fantastic read! From start to finish your pulled into the ADHD life of Charlie. She is delightfully quirky, hysterical, addicted to coffee and I can't help but want to be her! A normal day for her is avoiding getting killed, seeing dead people, solving crimes, having sexy time with a God in addition to saving the world! Action packed and nonstop laughs throughout, the Grave Series is a must read.

As always, I couldn't put this book down from Darynda Jones! Paranormal, mystery and romance are blended together perfectly in this book. Number 12 in the series and I haven't missed one. It's never to late to start this series. You will not be disappointed!

Charley is looking for Reyes after the events of the previous book, and she can’t seem to find him anywhere. In the meantime, there are horrific murders happening and Charley is helping her uncle find out what is going on and her friend is worried she might be going to jail for murder. As always, she has her plate full. However, Charley is worried that the murders are being committed by Reyes as he isn’t himself. Will she find him in time? I have to hand it to Ms. Jones: these books are still going strong. As with the other books in the series, I could not put this down. The book was full of action, fun, and some serious moments. I had to force myself to go to bed, it was so good! I love the way the author writes, so full of fun and so well-written. And, true to form, the ending was spectacular and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one to see what is going to happen next. If you are a fan of this series, you will love this book. If you haven’t read this series, what are you waiting for?!? Highly recommend! Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the e-copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

Thanks St. Martin's Press and netgalley for this ARC.

Darynda is one of my top 3 authors, and this book is another testament as to why. Charley and Reyes have become like family to me and I will be so sad when it is done. I hope we get more from some of the secondary characters, which have almost all become main characters! Get your tissues and pms kits ready ladies because you will definitely need them for this installment of Charley and Reyes!

If I said that I wasn't both eager and tepid to open this latest installment in the Charley Davidson series, I would both be a coward and a liar. I wanted so bad to get my hands on this story with the way that book eleven ended, it was heart wrenching but at the same time, I was so very nervous to do so. In fact once I got my ARC, I sat on it for a few days because I just couldn't bring myself to open it yet.

I didn't want things to change. I can't stand change and there was a big one at the end of the last book. A heart breaking oh my freaking heck change that I didn't see coming even though I probably should have.

Sometimes denial is so great isn't it?

So I had to put my big girl panties on and finally break down and crack it open. Armed with a bag of chocolate, a water bottle and a whole heck of a lot of Kleenexes, just in case.

This book. This series. This freaking author.

She knows how to both make me laugh, make me angry, and tug at my heart strings and she did all of them, sometimes all within the same chapter.

This group of friends, this family, once again proved how incredible they are. How I want them, every single one of them, in my life, if you know, they weren't all fictional and potentially hazardous to my health.

I loved every single minute and once again Jones pulled no punches. She tore things open, exposed them, bruised them and they tried to knit them all back together again only to repeat the process. She is cruel, and mean, ad I love her for it.

The ending, was once again, brutal and once again, left me longing for me.

I finished reading 12th Grave - thank you NetGalley. I loved it and have to say I think it's better than 11th Grave. At times, I found myself laughing and at other times I was surprised. I will be heartbroken when the series comes to an end. I Iook forward to each publication. I don't believe in spoilers and all I'm going to say is read it. If you are reading this post and for some strange reason have not read the Charley Davidson series, you are missing out. What are you waiting for, go to your local library, bookstore, Amazon or Barnes and Noble and get the first book in the series.

OMG, Ms. Jones has gone and done it again. Every time you think her books can’t get any better the next book comes out and is better than the last. This book was simply put. EPIC. I don’t even know how to put it in words without spoiling anything, so I will just make it short and simple.
Just know going into this book that there will be some pretty major plot-twists. Things we thought we knew from book one are all off the sudden not what we thought they are. And it blew my mind. Also know that this book will leave you hanging with a MAJOR cliffhanger that had me screaming. Even now writing the review I still don’t know what to think about all of it and that ending.
The book starts off pretty much were the last one ended and oh boy poor Charley barley gets to breathe let alone sleep. I think she gets like a couple hours of sleep throughout the book. She is after Reyes trying to get him to come back to her. Body and soul. Of course that is not easy with everyone breathing down her neck. Archangels, God, hell hounds and so on. As that would not be enough, she also has a case she is taken on and that case proofs to be more than she first thought, While we get not as much PI work from her se still get to see her work and work through things including the dilemma with Reyes. She discovers some pretty shocking things along the way. One thing is for sure no matter how beaten and battled Charley is, she never loses her sense of humor. She still full of snark but that doesn’t mean she cares less. Oh no we saw how much she really cares for her friends and family in this book.
Reyes, it is not secret that I have a hate-love relationship with him. But holy smokes did he push my patience with him this book. I think about half way I was ready to give up on the book on him and I needed a break from him. Of course I didn’t but I got close. We don’t get to see him all that much and yet he is always close.
Osh. OH MY OSH. That man-child-demon snuck into my heart from the first time we met him. I knew he had great potential and I was not wrong. He really shined in this book.
Garrett of course was all smexy and loyal and helpful and showed how much he is willing to give to help the gang out.
Of course we have out lovely dead people, that always help, Rocket, Strawberry Shortcake and even Blue. Some big and heartbreaking things are happening that will impact them all in a big way.
We also found out what happened to Taft, I think all of that will somehow tie into everything that has been going on, it has to.
Last but not the least we have Ubi, Cook, Amber and Quentin, while we not get to see super much of all of them they all still play a major part of the overall plot.
Overall we get a lot of things answered and some are truly shocking. The same with the ending of this book. OMG it had me in tears, my heart was ripped out and stumped on and then the unspeakable happened. I still don’t know which shocked me more and I think I will need a while to process it all.
I’m very curious to see how she will end it all in the next book, I just wish I could read it now and wouldn’t have to wait a year.
I rate this book a full 5 ★

Ah Charley and Reyes continue, as always Darynda Jones puts out a fantastic story to keep the reader engaged and enthralled while laughing away. That cliff hanger is going to bug me until the next segment of the series to find out what's next.

HOLY S*** DARYNDA!!!!!  How can you do this to us?  I had a heart attack with that ending.  I am now dying inside.  What a cliffhanger!!!  Argghhh.  OK, enough freak out!   I  have to give you the props you deserve.  *clapping*  Bravo!  Bravo!  Another amazing book.  I could not put it down.

So in this book Charley is at it again.  To many pies in the oven at the same time.  She has Reyes acting like a feral mad man, Pari is being questioned in a murder, the Angels are restless and on top of all that she is dealing with a madman killing special people.  Wow!  What's a girl to do?  Can she tame her husband, solve Pari's issue, keep the Angels happy and catch the killer before he strikes again?

This series just keeps getting better and better with each book.  Darynda is an amazing author.  I swear her inner Charley is kicking ass!  I am so in love with the characters and will be extremely sad when it ends in the next book.  Hopefully it won't be the end of all the characters stories.  I am hoping that Osh and Beep will continue on in a spin-off.  He is so cool and good-looking.  Easy to crush on.

Reyes and Charley have such an unbreakable bond.  The love they have is forever and it seems to get tested at every turn.  Charley is so loyal to Reyes and her loyalty and trust in him is really tested this book.  I fall more in love with them at every turn, as I see how far they are willing to go for each other.  They are amazing!

This book has so many twists and turns, you won't know what to think.   And when tragedy happens close to home, you will go WTF!!  NO!!!!!  But of course Charley will try to save the day, but at what cost.  A total action packed thriller, with plenty of ohhs, ahhs and hell nahs!!!  You better be prepared to read the whole thing in one sitting, because once you start page one you damn sure won't put it down till the end!!
Impatiently waiting for book 13.

I am looking forward to the next book!!

After I read the first book in this series I hoped that the author would continue to write about these characters. I have loved every book since then and the Trouble with Twelfth Grave is no exception. Charley and Reye's story never gets old. This book starts off right where the last one ended. Charley is trying to get Reyes back from a hell dimension but when he comes back he is not the same. Can love prevail? A must read if you like paranormal romance with lots of humor and heat.

First let me say, I love these books and this one is no exception. So many places, had me laughing uncontrollably with tears streaming down my face (it is so hard to read with tears between your eyes and reading glasses). Excellent story, the end left things hanging and I dislike thinking we are close to the end of this wonderful series but now am anticipating the next. Rock on Darynda.

I devoured this book in one sitting. Don't plan on getting anything else accomplished once you start reading. Just sit back and enjoy the rollercoaster ride of crazy antics and the supernatural along with her cast of loveable characters. Each book gets more and more intense and like I said in a previous review Darynda Jones is the queen of cliffhangers. If you have never read this series, what are you waiting for?

I'm just not sure. I have no idea. What just happened? W-T-F?

One day since I've finished the book and I still really honestly don't know how I feel about it.

I'm at a loss if I liked it or hated it or somewhere between. I...just. No words. I want to write this review and explain all the things that I'm having trouble with, but I have to check to see if I can fully review it just yet since it has a full month to go before it comes out.

*goes to look up email from Netgalley*

Phew ok, looks like I <i>can</i> review the book fully. Ok. Let's dig in shall we?

<img src="https://media.tenor.com/images/d2bad82cbb11f86c53eba7e340f94ae7/tenor.gif">

Yes I'll be using spoiler tags, just fair warning. And this will probably not be coherent.

Alright so from the last book [book:Eleventh Grave in Moonlight|24154742] we know that Reyes is...not himself. While reading the first chapter we, and by we I mean the audience, are trying to figure out what happened after Reyes flew out of the god glass. Charley is meandering around the point. And all I want is to shake her and yell at her. GET ON WITH IT WOMAN!!!!

So. Reyes and a bunch of innocents rush out of the god glass but not the other two evil gods nor did Charley see the evil priest. Uh Oh. Rather than worrying about that though, Charley goes about her biz. You know, I'd have thought we'd have had just slight more character growth, and have Charley idk take some things seriously, and now it's just becoming annoying that she's purposefully avoiding the important things cause *oh look something shiny* happens. It's getting old.

Meanwhile Ubie has a case of some people who have burns and scratches on them and their circumstances of dying are weird. It must be supernatural.

Oh still wondering what's gone on with Reyes and wondering if Reyes is well Reyes? Yea. Me too.

I guess he just cornered her did a little threatening and then left. *shrugs* No big deal right?

So Charley does her investigating trying to figure out if Reyes is still Reyes or not. She goes to Rocket's place and guess what? The place is leveled. Apparently not-Reyes is looking for something and got mad when Rocket wouldn't tell him. You know since it's against the rules. I'm surprised by this turn of events because Reyes, real Reyes knows how this would hurt Charley.

More bodies show up with weird circumstances of death. The weird claw like marks, and the weird burns on the bottom of their feet. Still don't know. Lets drive around randomly.

I mean there are some funny parts in this book don't get me wrong. Like Swoopes having a girl in bed, and Charley giving him a middle of the night wake up call and said girl NOT having an issue with Charley's late night random appearance. Ok.

So much happens but then all of a sudden after we figure out who/what is murdering people we find out about not-Reyes.

Not-Reyes is actually <spoiler> Reyes. Uhhh what? Apparently he is ALL the aspects of himself, the god, the human or whatever, and the evil god. Ok. He suddenly tells Charley that he had to be sure....sure that Charley would still love him? Even when he's psycho? I really don't understand because it's like he was always aware of who he was while he was doing all those destructive things???????????? I just if that's true what an utter waste of time. He - what? - pretended to be the uber evil god to see if Charley would still trust him? If he'd trust himself? I just don't know it didn't come through clearly.</spoiler>

And here's the mega mega mega spoiler. SOME-FUCKING-HOW THIS HAPPENED <spoiler> Some how some way Amber is KILLED. Dead, bye bye, soul left the body, it's been 2 hours dead. Apparently the priest, who was the ultimate killer to the other victims (he held onto them as an anchor so he wouldn't go to hell, ultimately killing them and somehow allowing him to stay, oh and they are people who could see supernatural) he got to Amber JUST before Charley had summoned him. So. Amber's dead. And the ONE rule that Charley must abide by is that she can only heal a soul from death if they haven't left their body. Clearly, Amber is a lost cause. Charley ignores that and heals Amber back (don't ask me how) and is swept away into oblivion. I assume to be released of her human body because she broke the one rule. She looks to Reyes and says she will find a way. THE END. </spoiler>

Yea great ending to the book. I'm kinda over these cliff hangers. I mean we are in book 12 can we just stop? I sincerely hope that if Jones does do the spin off I think she might, that she will refrain from cliff hangerville. NO MORE CLIFF HANGERS. Tie up the story in the book or make the books longer.

I'm still not sure what to rate this as I'm still confused. So I'm going to go with middle of the road and do a 3 since I can't seem to decide.
