This was a huge hot for me. Lori Foster starts off the book with a bit of intrigue and suspense. I was hooked by the end of chapter one. I already loved the characters from the previous books and it's always fun to see them again. Miles is a alpha male but Maxi is tough as nails and wants to take care of herself. I really was not sure who the bad guy was until close to the end. The author did a great job of giving us a few suspects to choose from. It's one of those books you enjoy from cover to cover and flows so easily you find yourself at the end before you know it.

Lori Foster does it again with the next spenseful romance in The Body Armor Series. Miles has had a casual thing going with Maxi in Close Contact but what happens when he wants more? Can he keep her physically safe while keeping her heart safe? Lori Foster weaves another suspenseful romance filled with passion and heart-racing moments. Believable characters that are both charming and flawed are written in the pages.
While it took me a bit to come around to Maxi because I really wanted this couple to fall hard, I enjoyed the banter between both Miles and Maxi throughout the book. They both gave as good as they got, pushed as good as they pulled and loved every minute of it. The suspense part of the story did keep me on the edge of my seat and that was interesting to watch as the story unfolded.
I also appreciated the fact that the other Body Armor men were involved and we saw the previous couples interact with both Miles and Maxi in this story, as well. I think it’s a great addition to Ms. Foster’s already stellar series and I cannot wait to see what she has in store for us next.

Lori Foster is back with another amazing Body Armor book, and I have to say, that out of all the books in the Body Armor series, Close Contact is by far my favorite!
When Maxi Nevar awoke outside, with no recollection of how she got there, it was the straw that broke the camel's back, of strange and progressively worse things that had happened to her, after she took over her Grandmothers ranch, and her collection of feral cats. But there was only one person that she felt confident to go to, Miles Dartman.
Miles Dartman, aka The Legend, in his MMA days, is now working for Body Armor Inc. But the last person he expected to see again was Maxi, especially in his bosses (Sahara Silver) office. But when she spills her story, his desire, not only to protect her, but for her kicks in, and he is determined to protect her from whomever is after her.
As I said before, this book is seriously my favorite of the series. Not only do we get to know Miles and Maxi's characters, but we also revisit with Leese, Justice and Brand. But on top of that, we get to know more about Sahara, and I have to say, no matter what book I read in this series, Sahara's character stands out the most, and I think a lot of that has to do with the disappearance of her brother, and her determination to find him.
I honestly cannot say enough great things about every part of this book. There is romance, suspense, a little mean mugging, cats, and at the very end, something really gross, that made me want to bathe in hand sanitizer! And this is why I give Close Contact 5 stars!

Close contact was a romance with a lot of danger, but there was humor and friendship as well. The hotness between Maxi and Miles was off the charts.
A whirlwind of action, scary happenings and hot romance made Close Contact a great story to curl up with, and Foster delivered the goods I so needed.

Close Contact is the third book in the Body Armor series. This is Miles's story. I have to say out of the three in the series, this one is my favorite so far. I loved the way the story opens with Maxi waking up on the ground outside her house with no memory of how she got there. It really set the tone for the rest of the story. Weird things keep happening around the farm house that Maxi inherited. Clearly someone wants her to leave. Enter Miles her new bodyguard and former three night stand.
I loved Miles and Maxi. Their chemistry was off the chart and meshed very well together. I loved that they had a little bit of a history even if it was mostly between the sheets. They were just a great couple. What I loved most about the story was the mystery. There were a lot of suspects so I was really kept guessing until the end. I was pretty surprised at the reveal. Characters from previous books make appearances allowing me to catch up with them. It's like catching up with old friends.
This book does work well as a stand alone. but really you should go back and read the first two books. They are lots of fun as well. Sahara's book is next I was really excited to see we don't have to wait much longer to read it!

Maxi Nevar wakes up in the middle of the night next to her pond. That is how this book starts. Did she just fall asleep there? Nope. The last thing she remembers is sitting down on the couch with a glass of wine and a book. So many things have been happening since she moved into her deceased grandma's house and this is the last straw. Now she is scared but she knows where to turn. Miles Dartman is a former MMA fighter who gave up the ring after too many injuries and is now a bodyguard. He gets a call from his boss to report to the office first thing in the morning...early...and is surprised at what greets him. He and Maxi have a past, a 3 night past he didn't want to end but didn't know how to find her. Now he has her right where he wants her and she is his to protect.
This story is full of romance, fun, suspense, danger, cats, hot men, sassy women, lots of banter, and definitely many twists and turns. Just when you think you have it figured out it goes in a different direction. It was engaging from the beginning to the end and even though I had not read the first two books in the series I did not feel lost in the slightest. Definitely can read this as a standalone. I highly recommend this one!

Suspenseful, sexy romance
Lori Foster once again provided the reader with a great story in this the third book in the Body Armor series.
Maxi and Miles get a second chance at love when mysterious circumstances drive her to employ Miles as a bodyguard.
The plot moved well and kept your interest as they tried to discover who had been terrorizing Maxi. The ending wrapped the mystery up well and it was satisfying to see their relationship evolve from initial list to love.
I received an Advance reader copy of this book from NetGalley.

I’m a fan of Lori Foster’s books, I usually preorder her books and I still have a few that I didn’t read yet, like Under Pressure and Hard Justice, so I started Close Contact without reading the first books in this series and honestly I regret it, not because I struggled to follow the story, I didn’t, however my curiosity about some of the characters is huge! I’ll definitely read both asap!
Miles is a MMA fighter who joins Body Armor, a bodyguard agency, he’s actually happy working there until his new client is someone he knows… intimately. Maxi enjoyed a few night stands with him, disappeared from his life and now she’s at Body Armor’s office trying to hire him. But then when she starts to explain why she needs protection, Mile’s protection, all of his instincts are roaring to protect her at any cost. And besides… Maxi has been on his mind a lot.
Maxi is a sweetheart, she never quite fit with her family, never had much luck in love and she feels like she never measured up to her mom’s expectations. She’s such a sweetheart! She’s trying so hard to honor the trust her grandmother put on her, it’s absolutely endearing.
Miles and Maxi are incredibly perfect for each other and I fell in love with both of them. Lori Foster balances suspense, romance, heat, danger, intrigue, an amazing plot and well crafted characters like no other. And the cameos… YES! If you’ve read Lori’s Ultimate series, you’re going to love to encounter again some of the guys. And Sahara, Miles’ boss, is an amazing secondary character, I can’t wait for her book.
Overall, if you love books with MMA figthers (or former MMA fighters), bodyguards, alpha males, lots of romance, suspense, intrigue and a little mystery, you’re going to love Close Contact.

3.5 Stars
This is a solid entry in Ms. Foster's Body Armor series, following former MMA fighter Miles as he reconnects with and protects Maxi.
The initial liaison between Miles and Maxi was brief and occurred when they were both at a cross roads in life. The connection between them was impactful for both, so it seemed natural that Maxi turned to Miles when she needed help.
Both characters were easy to like and root for, even if the romantic blinders they had on were frustrating at times. Ms. Foster did an excellent job of blending the romantic story with the suspense element of what was happening around Maxi's home. Both story lines were entertaining to follow and the suspense piece definitely kept me on my toes.
Close Contact is a part of a series and the series is a spin off, so there are several cameos from characters that we've met before. It's nice to catch up with the guys from the previous books and get glimpses of where they are now. That said, this is also very much a stand alone effort and could easily be enjoyed without having read the previous books. I am looking forward to see what happens to Sahara in the next installment of the series.

Close Contact, the third book of Lori Foster's Body Armor series, brings us Miles and Maxi.
I have yet to be disappointed by one of Lori Foster's books, and of course, I was drawn into Miles and Maxi's story.
Maxi and Miles were acquainted prior to this book, and due to poor communication and some misunderstanding during their previous encounters, each of them was unsure of their stance with the other person.
They continue to struggle with communication in their current situation, but they work at it together and reach their happily ever after.
I especially appreciated the suspense aspect of this book. It was well done, and the mystery of who the suspect was kept me guessing...and then guessing again.
As always, I love the camaraderie and friendship between the characters in Lori Foster's worlds, and I can't wait for the series to continue.
***I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.***

This book was amazing! Lori Foster wrote a great story that kept you guessing who was causing all the chaos for Maxi, and she has to resort to hiring a body guard, none other than the guy she fell for but ran.
Miles can't believe Maxi is here in front of him, she left him after 3 dates and disappeared, and now here she is in need of his help.
Follow their story, be prepared to sit on the edge of your seat and also swoon and fall in love! 5 stars for this one!! Grab it as soon as it's available!!

We always buy Lori Foster for our library. Our patrons love her.

Maxie wakes up on the ground by her pond. She doesn't know what happened, but knows what has been happening is not coincidental and that someone wants to do more than scare her. She decides to hire help and finds herself at Body Armor. A security agency made up of former MMA fighters. Miles is more than happy to be her personal security as he wants to find out what happened to her a few months ago. They had a great time and she disappeared. As Miles and his friends work to make Maxie's house secure they slowly uncover where the mysterious threats are coming from and why someone would want Maxie to give up her inheritance. Plenty of action and romance made this an enjoyable book.

**Will go live on blog and Amazon on release**
A new Body Armor story? OK, if you insist!
I have enjoyed the first 2 books in this series, and now we have Miles - and humina humina, me likey!
From the minute Miles and his former fling Maxi reconnect, sparks fly. Boy, the sexual tension between them is off the charts.
Add in a bit of mystery and intrigue, and we are in for one hell of a ride.
And when Miles and Maxi do get in close contact.... hooeeeey hot stuff!
I did have a pretty good guess of who the bad guy is about halfway throughout the story, however Ms Foster didn't let us know the why's and what fors until she was ready to reveal.
One thing about this story - cats. So many cats!
I loved getting to see the boys from Body Armor and the guys from the Ultimate series a bit more too!
Now I need to know Brand's story - please don't make us wait too long!

I always love reading books by Ms. Foster. Her men are always tall, sexy, and totally ripped. Her ladies are kick-ass women that you desperately want as your friends. Here we got to read about Miles and Maxi's wonderfully tense second chance at romance. Add in a mess of cats and this was a great book.
Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

Entertaining contemporary romance thriller - part of a series about MMA fighters-turned-bodyguards and the women who tame them. Although I found it difficult to get past the silly-sounding names for our heroes and their lady friends (Justice! Leese! Brand!), and the plot lacked a certain amount of cohesion (the resolution of the "thriller" aspect is nonsensical), the chemistry between Maxi and Miles (Legend!) was steamy, and the old farmhouse was easy to picture as a lovely place for romance to bloom, despite the odd goings-on. And if you like cats, you'll definitely appreciate the mass of felines in this book.

I have a bit of mixed feelings of this book. On the one hand, I loved that we have a strong heroine here as it makes for a nice change from all the doormat/flaky heroines of late but for some reason, I could not warm up to Maxi at all. I did love Miles though and the plot was interesting. All in all, still a good read though not one of my favorites.

I have read over 30 of Lori Foster's books in the past few years and have enjoyed them immensely.
Unfortunately, this one did not resonate with me like all of her other books have. I haven't read the first two books in this series so even though this is a standalone, maybe that's the problem.
For some reason, I had trouble connecting with the main characters, Miles and Maxi. It felt like too many points were being repeated too often, and sometimes the plot seemed to move at a slower pace than I'm accustomed to from her other books.
Would I have been more invested in the story if I had read the others in the series first?Maybe so. I will definitely continue to read Ms. Foster's books, however. She's a great author!
Thank you NetGalley and Harlequin for an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

A great addition to the series. Miles and Maxi are perfect together. Maxi disappeared on Miles previously, but he felt there was something between them and is more than willing to help protect her now. But it is going to be on his terms this time. The chemistry between them jumps off the pages. The mystery kept me guessing as to who it was until the end.
I also loved having all the gang make an appearance in the book. It's great to catch up with them and see how they are always there for one another.
Romance, suspense, humor and mystery all rolled into one. Read it now!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader copy of this book.

I am not sure how I felt about this book. I mean the storyline is what drew me in. But too much of the book was spent discussing Miles being butthurt over his one night stand with Maxi along with the fallout from it. And with Maxi was by turns, acting gullible & naive, and then very stubborn. The mystery of the stalker was solved in the very last few pages. And I truly felt that more time could have been spent on that(making the story more interesting) instead of reading about Maxi drooling over Miles muscles and the muscles of his friends. It was round and round with that. I received this book through NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.
